This is my machine. The machine I originally wanted for my home coffee bar was the Bezzera BZ13 DM which was an HX machine (apparently Bezzera have discontinued it). It's listed at around $1750. Unfortunately since that's not available I searched around for an alternative and really at the sub $2K price point I had set myself there are precious few alternatives if you need a covered brew group. I decided to go for the Clive Coffee Lucca variant of the Mini Vivaldi since they are at driving distance. I am so glad I went with this machine, it is truly commercial grade. I mean it weighs 65lb and the chassis is thick (3.5mm) steel. Don't let the plastic side panels fool you, they're just there to cover the sides like most commercial machines. This machine is right at the $2000 mark and is waay cheaper than anything that is comparable. Our Spaz is fed by two grinders. A big Ceado E37S that is hopper fed for daily service and a Ceado E5SD for trying out different coffees. The volumetric dosing on the Spaz works great and with the dose on Big C dialed in the shot pull of espresso for milk drinks is consistent enough. For me screwing around with other coffees the temperature adjustment is a breeze and I use the top button as a manual pull. That's the thing about dual boilers and the Spaz in particular, you can use them for anything especially if they have volumetric dosing. If this Spaz craps out (highly unlikely) and I can't fix it I will replace it with another one. As far as I'm concerned dual boiler is the only way to go.
And yes, the La Spaziale Lucca A53 looks a tiny bit better than the Vivaldi but they both have styling you can only describe as 'homely'. But the steam!! oh goodness the steam is amazing.

so is it better quality machine than Rocket brands of espresso machines? My Cellini pump failed on my Rocket espresso machine after 7 years and need new machine and with lot of issues with things failing on the Rocket machine, do not want to go through that again with a new machine.

@@GuitarsAndSynths I can't say as to the value of the Rocket brand but they do spend an awful lot on marketing. I'm still of the same opinion regarding our La Spaziale Lucca A53 machine and I wouldn't choose anything by Rocket over the La Spaziale. It is a very robust commercial machine that pulls shots for us all day. As an aside our Spaz is not plumbed in and therefore uses an Ulka vibratory pump. Now you may say that it's not as good as a rotary pump but I will counter that in actual performance there is really no difference and the Ulka pump can be bought for $60 on eBay or La Spaziale and can be changed out in under 20 minutes. If you need that rotary pump then select the plumbed in variant. In all cases I stand by my statement that if I somehow lost my La Spaziale machine I would replace it with another one.
What I really want is the La Spaziale Dream but I'm very shallow and I just can't get past that front panel styling. If You do go for La Spaziale get a bottomless portafilter.

In short I will say if you plan on brewing a lot of specialty coffees that brew better at different temperatures, or use it for entertaining frequently, yes a dual boiler is worth it. If you're not into the temperature control and you really only make milk drinks and not using specialty coffees a heat exchanger will be just fine, bear in mind too there are some very powerful heat exchangers out there that can easily keep up with a dual boiler but also offer that at a better price point. If all you want is espresso and not focused on making lots of milk drinks a single boiler with a PID may be all you need.
