    The og Swisstool has been made since 1997 or 98, all outside tools and i cant stress enough how good that thing is. I dont like the Spirit at all but that comes down to the funky form and subsequently weird scissors and main blade. The Swisstool is a rectangular lump of steel that feels like a tank, but has the swiss preciseness and bling to it, i love it. Bought my 3rd one now in black and that thing is just beautiful.

      I’ve been eyeing the SwissTool MX… I may end up with one. Love the full Vic scissors and it seems like it could actually compete with the Surge

      The Swiss tool X OG is my most kept Tool and I only use them at home. I have a wave for one hand usage. I have skeletool for my work with raptor and a victorinox rambler.
      Victorinox have better scissors. Leatherman have better ergo and ease of use especially the knife. Vix with century old does have pretty collections but I would love to see both makers make a full size victorinox scissors caliber instead of pliers with leatherman raptor set of tools. Perfect tools for EMS personnels.

      SwissTool X is also made to hold up for a lifetime.
      Have mine for 10+ years. If you just do basic stuff to maintain it - it will hold up for decades.

    For me, tools accesible from the the outside are a must.. The philips on the spirit works with 99% of all screws, even tiny ones.. The sciccors I use regularly to cut cable ties.. the tin opening flat head i often can't use, because i would scratch/cut the surface of where I am screwing.. I found the leathermans wire cutting edge at the pliers to be longer, which using the spirit has sometimes been lacking a bit of distance.. How is the sciccors and the philips at the p4?

    Leatherman P4 : One hand no finger nails needed.
    Update I just accessed all my P4 tools with one hand wearing a glove.

    I never understood the shoddy file on the P4. Leatherman files on other tools are one of the best tools they have and would put ven the aswiss Tool ones to shame, but the P4 doesn’t really compare to even my Squirt PS4.

      Leatherman has problems with the file ,with the cutters breaking and loose handles ,It took leatherman decades to build up a good name ...It's taken less than two years to get a name of being the most expensive multi tool in the world for a sub standard tool....I was buying one this year ,But due to all there problems that I put down to greed I'm now going to buy a clone ,For the price I can buy X6 clones for the price on one leatherman and the quality is not X6 better than the clone ..I don't think leatherman is now a name that makes me think quality..

    Hi, I know this is an old video, but I wanted to ask you. I have a swisstool spirit XC old version, it is more than 7 years old, there is a backlash in my pliers do you have the same situation or should I seek warranty repairs? The pliers work properly, I didn't do hard work with them, they still bite any wires well, they hold the nuts perfectly, but there is a noticeable backlash in them.

    Really convinced that the P4 and P2 was just taking budget, non-bit driver tools, and jamming them into the "most advanced tool they have made to date". Charging a premium for magnets and a crap toolset. Then after people bought and complained about the toolset. Release the tool everyone wanted "Arc" and take advantage of consumers yet again. They will go nuts over premium features included on the Charge, Wave +, etc. that were purposely omitted and then reintroduced 4 years later. After market fixed the Free series in less than a year. But let's not think about that. 😂

    why victorinox does not make an one hand opening version?

    • @inkiron3907
      @inkiron3907  Год назад +1

      They make this Swiss Tool with a one handed blade. But the other tools are two-hand open. Idk why, but maybe because they’ve been making two-handed type tools for decades and that’s what they’re comfortable making and marketing

    • @roy-batty
      @roy-batty Год назад +2

      Well... It costs to inovate. New machines cost. It's a risk, and they have a safe business with products that sell. Too bad. I think their take on the magnetic system would give Leatherman a run for their money.

    • @mackjones7688
      @mackjones7688 8 месяцев назад

      Victorinox innovates, but when it comes to their bread and butter line-up of tools. They make changes and revisions about every 20 - 30 years. Even their new Swiss Tool models are just a tab of metal added to the tools to allow for one hand deployment but that tab introduces issues of it's own. Even the pocket clip is just using existing features. They made the minimal of changes to the Swiss tools and charged a massive premium for them. It's nice that their pocket clip can be used on older models. But the price is twice that of Leatherman pocket clips. So Leatherman is quite the bargain if you compare them to eachother. I highly disagree that Victorinox is superior. I love my Spirit X but mine came with blemishes and imperfections across the whole tool. Function is not affected, but the perfection people claim is just not there. My P4 and other Leathermans are pretty much flawless and symmetrical. I still need to get a Swiss Tool so hopefully that one has better QC than my Spirit X has when I get one.

    • @inkiron3907
      @inkiron3907  Год назад +2

      Spirit MX was hard to come by at first. I thought the original Spirit X would be easier for people to purchase… also it’s very easy to understand the MX is a one handed blade with pocket clip. It’s not a drastically different tool

    The softer steel of Victorinox respect to leatherman IS A MYT!!!! (Probably an American myt).
    Victorinox steel Is harder, terribly more inoxidable and with Better Heat treatment!!!
    Victorinox use Germán steel, leatherman American steel......😁
    If you try to dent leatherman pliers and Victorinox, you Will notice thath Victorinox Is a lot harder.
    If you put oil in the pivots ,specially the pliers pivot, leatherman make a lot of DARK garbage. Victorinox no.
    These Means that leatherman pivot wears a lot faster.
    And in fact ALL LEATHERMAN PLIERS TAKE A LOT OF PLAY IN ONE MONTH OF ELECTRICAL WIRE CUTTING.
    Victorinox dont take the same play After years!!!
    The pliers theeth of leatherman pliers dent or bend immediatley.
    Victorinox have a much smaller theets and they not bend.
    These Is a another evidence of harder steel.
    All leatherman flat screwdriver got dent. All Victorinox flat screwdriver dont dent. Another evidence of superior steel.
    Stop ti Say thath leatherman have a harder steel.The Edge retention of both Is the same.
    All the rest of tool Is harder on Victorinox.
    Also Gerber centerdrive Is harder than leatherman on pliers and tools.

      Pliers pivot went off on my Spirit X after a week of minimal use. When using Philips, the handles keep moving which is very irritating. Beautiful tool to look at and play with, less so when actually using it ...
