    Let me explain something about the clapping. Waldemar Malicki, that is the pianist, tours with "Philharmonic of wit." They are all classically trained musicians who probably spend majority of their time making very serious music, but touring as "Philharmonic of wit" they make musical comedy, they are very cabaretish. These are concerts for laymen, people who do not go there to appreciate classical music, but just to listen to something classical-like/pop-like and have fun. They are often encouraged to clap or shout something to the rhythm, hence clapping. At the end of this video the conductor himself faces the crowd and "conducts" them to clap. By the way, Karajan did the same with Radetzki March, and people were clapping. Karajan was a very serious man who played at very serious places and had very serious audiences.

It means "The Philharmonic of joke" :d He's a great comedian, and he likes when people have fun, even when he's playing :d Tickets aren't expensive so many people come to have some fun, and in my opinion it's great idea to combine classical music, and great sense of humor :d Don't be so wooden :D

I can watch old programs from the 50's & 60's, get plenty of music to my taste, get the news before it hits the paper, just love YT. I'm not particularly fond of people who are so opinionated that they think their opinion is chiseled in stone. I like to read ppls opinion, cuz some are really good. I'm retired now for 8 yrs, & find this very entertaining, it makes me think so my brain doesn't melt, & some make me laugh. Watched some crazy car drivers in Russia, what a hoot! The happiness on the audience's faces goes to show that classical/ ragtime/ jazz CROSSOVER is bliss and it's high time for a change, it's time that someone taught the classically trained sheet music robots to become real musicians, learn to improvise, introduce new material=old material and to play freely and bring true happiness to their audiences. But then, what we see here is sheer genius paired with a sense of humor and cannot be learned, only serve as source of inspiration.

    guys, this was not a concert, they clapped because that was like a part of a comedy show ;) he performed to entertain these people, it was supposed to be something funny, people were meant to laugh and clap their hands because that what this show was about ;) stop complaining, you can listen to Waldemar Malicki on a concert not a music-comedy show, just search on youtube but this was not meant to be serious, the group is called Filharmonia Dowcipu so in not very acurate translation from Polish it means (Philharmonic) Orchestra of joke (/laughter)

    according to the expression if his face, the pianists thoughts in the beginning might have been:
    " okaaaaay... they are clapping.. neat.......okaaaaaaaaay........ i just made a fermata.. u might stop clapping..............
    okaaaaay i just fuckign changed the rhythm..... u REALLY might consider to stop the fucking clapping................
    OH MY GOD I SWEAR IF YOU CLAP AGAIN IM GONNA GET DOWN THERE AND KICK YOU "

      ichabe dichlieb total misunderstanding the situation.. if he did not like the clapping, he would not perform during the cabaret night and search on youtube for " Filharmonia dowcipu - kochajmy klasykę " during the same concert, he showed the audience how to actually clap and behave, you totally don't understand it is for fun..

  • @misc0615
    @misc0615 11 лет назад +6

    Gosh it hurts my eyes and especially my ears so much watching this I just can't take it anymore. Being a fellow performer I really sympathise with the one here for he had to stand such an inappropriate audience who had no idea how to appreciate his performance. I don't mean to trash them because enthusiasm is normally good, but in this case, a CLASSICAL performance, it's unspoken etiquette to wait until it's finished to clap or do anything to disturb the performer.
    Now clapping once is already annoying enough, but here it's a rhythmic clap throughout the WHOLE performance that hinders the performer from freely expressing his feelings through music AND messes up with his own rhythm, thus more prone to making petty mistakes which would otherwise not happen.
    @ 0:34 he had purposely played much faster and louder to hint at the audience to stop that sh*tty clapping but was in vain, because right after that they started to clap AGAIN without fail. I know I'm starting to yap now but I just can't help it you know, I'm just so angry for that poor performer

      If they hadn't clapped, then his purpose would have been negated. Just a thought, but if you also look at the New years concert in Vienna you will find that the conductor encourages and subdues the audience in the Radetski March,,,,this is a comic conversation between Malik and HIS audience which is wonderful....get over it.
