For those of you who are beginners to classical music and want to learn more about the symphony orchestra, this set of videos is a great place to start. These four videos are about the symphony orchestra playing the piece The Young Persons Guide To The Orchestra by Benjamin Britten. The first video showed the orchestra playing the Theme by Henry Purcell. First the whole orchestra played it together, then each of the four families played it individually and then the whole orchestra played the theme together a final time. Then we heard the first 4 of the variations of the theme, which are played by the woodwind instruments. First the flutes and piccolo, then the oboes, followed by the clarinets, and finally the bassoons. In Video #2, we heard the next 5 variations, which are played by the string instruments. We start with the first and second violins, then the violas, next the cellos, followed by the double basses, and finally the harp. In Video #3 here, we hear the next 3 variations, which are played by the brass instruments. First the french horns, then the trumpets, and then the trombones and tuba.

I would have ROTFL, if they would have done the United States Cavalry charge... this is a world class group.
What about marimba
