I’ve been contemplating ordering this machine. I’m hesitant cause we had the GE Profile Nugget Countertop Ice Maker and had issues with the lines clogging with sediment. The lines were jammed into the unit and so small you couldn’t get to them. Have you had any issues with sediment clogging lines? Do you have it thru a water softner? Filter?
Hi Carlos, I definitely recommend using softened water. I also have an inline filter. After 2.5 years I have no issue with sediment. I do occasionally turn off unit and wipe down with vinegar as I see trace pink color from iron and I don’t want any mold growing. Now that you mention it, it’s probably a good time for me to pull the system out and check the drain and lift pump to make sure all lines are clear! I have no hesitation in recommending unit. I’m happy with it. Cheers and good luck!
Daniel, smaller cubes will break apart as they fall. However, I recommend getting an aluminum ice scoop. I use it to break apart groups of ice. Piece of cake
So I ordered the machine today. Arriving Thursday. I seen it has a drain hose. Do you just have the drain hose hooked up all the time to a floor drain and it drains automatically?
Hi Carlos, yes, it needs a drain. I put an hvac condensate pump behind it and connected it to drain for plumbing as I had no floor drain nearby. Cheers
On the drain hose, do you keep it connected all the time and let it drain? Instructions indicate if I’m reading it correctly to keep the drain hole plugged until your ready to drain it. What do you do?
@@carlosarney I keep drain connected permanently. As ice melts it will drip into the HVAC condensate pump and that will pump it to my sink drain as necessary. If you have a floor drain just align the drain tube to that and your all set. Cheers

Hi Trish, The drain at bottom of unit will constantly drip into drain. Over time, you can have some growth of mold because it is always wet. You may also have mineral build up. I would recommend performing a clean cycle and using vinegar and a pipe cleaner to clean from top of drain as well as rear. Once drain is cleared the pooling will be cured.
