Stolen bicycle at Publix leads to discovery of $70,000 in forged checks

  • PALM COAST, Fla. (CBS12) - A report of a stolen bicycle at a Publix led to the discovery of forged checks and stolen identities totaling over $70,000 in Palm Coast.
    The Flagler County Sheriff's Office (FCSO) stated that on Sunday, deputies responded to a report about a stolen bicycle at Publix in Hammock Beach Centre.
    A customer's new bike was taken from the entrance area, prompting detectives to review surveillance footage. The report states that they identified a suspect and issued a be-on-the-lookout alert.
    Shortly afterward, FCSO located the suspect, 23-year-old Samuel Muslaire from Miami, riding the stolen bicycle near North Ocean Shore Boulevard and Camino Del Mar Parkway.
