14:20-14:55 Yes, my boy, you are slowly starting to read the Conversation!
You can't imagine how much more amplified and hype your impression of the big moments will be when you understand how he thinks and what actually matters in this story.
Accept the moonlight, people. Reject the sun!

Japanese people, and many Asians, in fact, have a culture of putting family names and surnames as the first name, because family is their priority. That is the reason the protagonist was called Kageno, and not Minoru, like in the west. So when he reincarnated, they made a small letter/pronunciation change in his surname, turning Kageno to Kagenou, which makes the last “o” double length, to make it seem like fate that he would reincarnate in a family named shadow. It's a fun little thing you only get when you know Japanese and know how story-writing works.

14:55-15:52 So, no spoilers, but in terms of content that's already been revealed in the source material, and which doesn't spoil anything about the future of the story, you hit the bull's eye. In the anime, when Alpha got hit after the Viscount used one of the pills, the anime shortened her comment to “That’s an interesting trick,” to deliberately mess with the fans, and hide important info that only the actual fans would care to look into. Her actual full line, which you can find in the game, by the way, is _“That's an interesting trick. Did you just forcibly activate your mana frenzy?”_ That should tell you enough about what's going on.
So this isn't spoilers, like I mentioned before, but if you want absolutely no context, you can stop reading further, as I'm just gonna comment on that Alpha's line with some additional context from the Light Novel. So that's your warning, if you're nitpicky about medium exposure.
Since you've seen episode 5 already, I think it's safe to give you more context for the recontextualization of the perspective.
Intentionally forcing out a mana frenzy is something Cid thought of once, but gave up because it's too dangerous. But he did keep the idea for when he actually found out the attributes of slimes. You see, the system of the world basically operates on using mana to amplify their bodies' properties, such as for densening their cells, either for defense our offense. But because it's not a proper magic system, and is basically just mana arts, they both don't know how to control it as well, _and_ discovered that some materials have worse mana conductivity on top of that. So as Cid mentioned, if you pour 100 mana into an iron sword, the actual amount that is effective is 10. You basically lose 90% of the mana you pour into your iron sword, and even Mythril, which is considered a high level and expensive metal, can only conduct 50%. The loss is ridiculously high. But the slime, which Cid directed his attention at, has a ridiculous conductivity rate of 99%. And this isn't all. If the average rate of conductivity is about 10-30%, then it would mean that the humans, and virtually any other organisms, would adapt their mana receptors for that amount. This means that Cid had to train himself to be able to handle more than the average mana output. The Anime, and even the game, +probably even the manga didn't mention this, but in the Light Novel, it mentions that Cid had to break his body over and over again to adapt to the 99% conductivity, not to mention, he's physically so much rebuilt that he doesn't use mana majority of the time. That's what he did to achieve his power-level, and continued growing from that point onwards.
The cult, however, decided to go with the mana frenzy route, despite it being dangerous, and making you lose control on top of your mana flow going haywire. And since Alpha personally experienced it, along with everyone else in the Shadow Garden who isn't Cid, she knows the mana frenzy just like her 10 fingers. But this isn't all. The state you enter during the intentional forced out activation of the mana frenzy, is called “The Awakening” in the cult. A state where your body's morphology grows explosively high along with the mana receptors. And as it happened, the word “Awakening” itself, which is Kakusei・覚醒 in Japanese, sounds exactly like 核性・Kakusei, which means "Nuclear", or Atomic, if you didn't get the reference. You can guess how Cid feels about that.
    Fun little rabbithole, ain't it?

His hole goal is to be the eminence in shadow. Well his last name roughly translates to "in shadow" so you could say his birth name is Cid in the Shadow

Not sure if you missed or just decided to avoid it, but I had a comment here trying to add some context with no spoilers, and even a context warning, in-case you didn't want anything past the surface level.
