  • Watch the complete build video for custom building the 1/16 Panzer I tank model by Takom. An infamous tiny tank produced in the beginning of WWII that set the precedence for its latter generation. Although the model lacks the interior details, most hatches could still be made open and a custom early war tank crew is made especially for this tank. The video captures the complete custom build works so it might be a bit long for some viewers, hope you find it inspiring!

Very artistic, lots of layers with great skill. It looks just like a old vehicle that has been sitting in a field for 30 or 40 years. The truth of the matter the 10 or so years that the panzer 1 was in the German military it would never have aged that much and would have been painted at least once a year. After 1940 this tank would have been used for training and would have been kept in better condition.

Thanks! You do have a point and I observed most of the Pz 1 was not as worn as you mentioned. Just that I also came across some models with the similar paint job and I do like it on a dark grey body. As you might notice most of my works do have a dirty damaged look which seems to be my signature and style, may be that could fall into the ‘what if’ category of tank modelling.

A great build well done. Now if I could just get my Airfix starter sets look as good

Awesome painting skills. To round it off, you could give the figure headphones.
Not microphones; the commander had headphones only. The old orange ones. The socket was behind his back.

Thanks for your advice! Really did not know that.
I usually put headphones and microphones on my figure but this time nothing as I was not sure the early version of the set. Seen a lot of real photos just did not wear anything so just pick the non-combat version.

Nice model, but in 15:03 there wasn't welded for that whole stretch

I am very impressed of your awareness to those details on the production, as very few viewers can spot that on my videos. Yes you are right that should not be a welding joint there. I was actually using the epoxy putty to fill the gap between the hulls as they did not fit perfectly. If you scroll down to 1:09:14 you can see that is not really a weld seam. thanks for picking that up anyway and I really appreciate your interest!🙂

Which Acrylic thinner do you use for locking in the pigments?
