Hey just wanted to thank you for this video. I have a RIA 1911 tac ultra and I polished every part of this thing. The slide is butter until it hits that disconnector. I followed your video and sanded a nice polished ramp into it and the gun is amazing!! Thank you again.
You did hit the key points on where to sand and polish, people bash on this gun but they don’t want to spend the $ on a Stacatto, I really don’t get them haha. Nice video, and beautiful gun!
Well, if the Tisas 2011's work out of the box, then it will be a bit of a head scratcher why Springfield's still struggle. In all fairness, the MAC 2011, is marginally cheaper than the Prodigy.
Yea, this gun has ran great for me. For what I have into it and purchased it for, I’m not into it much. In the midst, of doing another cheely grip, and complete recoat as the bazooka isn’t doing it for me anymore. N
Hey! Thanks for posting this! I also did the same to the disco ramp and hammer and it's like glass now. Quick question, how did you gage how much material to take off on the hammer? I did just enough to remove all friction with the slide and unfortunately it doesn't quite get to full cock when I depress the trigger and rack the slide (works most of the time with my trigger not engaged though). I still have an extra hammer laying around so no biggie, but I don't wanna mess it up again lol. It's super close though. With the slide racked I need to push the hammer
You are a Save! Thank you for posting it, because this is EXACTLY what I needed to see. I wanted to know the details of the Marvel Ramp and GI Style Guide Rod and Spring Plug; Excellent! I have a lightly mod'd 4.25 Prodigy. I will also do the Marvel Ramp. How/What determined the proper angle for the smooth filed contour? Thanks Again!
Angle should be 6-7 degrees, and max depth of cut should be 0.05-0.06 inches. That means the total length of the ramp should be approx. 0.4-0.5 inches. Can easily do this with a sharpie, set of files, sandpaper, and calipers. Go slow, measure a bunch, re-check marks with the sharpie and you’ll be fine
What lower grip module is that and it looks a bit slim down from the original grip module for the prodigy could you let me know the name and if that is the case because I never really did like the thick look of the project grip module
When you say you "polish" the feed ramp and chamber what are you using exactly? Nevr dull by hand or some really soft dremel attachment? Going to be doing mine this weekend and just want to have the right stuff.
I honestly used Flitz polish with a small barrel white buffing wheel on my dremel. but on flats i used 1200-3000 gritt with wd40 as a lubricant. various ranges prior to buffing it with polish to get a mirror smooth finish
I've filed the hammer, disconnect, and rails like you mentioned. Real smooth but i gotta ask, are there any issues with filing down the block? I plan on doing it, just need to know of any cons(not that it's gonna stop me)
Make sure you use a sharpie, rack it a bunch and only remove the Material were the disconnector removes the sharpie. If you file the whole block it won’t take the round out of the magazine and chamber a round. Just make sure it’s the width of the disconnector head.
Mine has some hiccups out of the box. But I expect that with some TLC it will get where I want it to go. Then in the future...I may get a Platy or a Stacc...we'll see

Your video was exactly what I was looking for!
Glad it was helpful!

Just did this and it complete changed how the gun felt. Used your video and it was perfect.👍
I’m going to do this to my Tisas DS carry. Love the video!
What guide rod and spring are you using in your DS? You said a short GI rod and spring. Where did you pick that up? Thanks

No clue. Just wung it.

Do you have to leave the sides on the ramp? Would it be ok to not have the sides walls?
You need the sides. It’s what takes the round out of the magazine to the chamber.
Thanks!!

What grip module do you have?
are you from the Boston area ?
What kind of file is that? I have one made for metal but don’t know of I need a stone file?
Has it caused any issues stripping rounds?
no. been flawless.

Looks like a Cheely
