Sailing followtheboat lol Hilarious! Couldn't find the exit!? For how long? Did someone rescue you or did the TARDIS suddenly show the way! :) So funny
I was there at Dalston Lane and at the Rocket in the early 90's. Some of the best nights of my life. Absolute gem of a place. Amazing vibe. Was like an extended family you'd visit at the weekend :) And that sound system! Didn't need any fiber in my diet at all stood near those speakers lol Always great tunes with Amen breaks all over the gaff. Back in the days when you could not help but dance ya bollocks off cos the tunes were so damn good and full of that energetic vibe. Magical times. Chuffed I got to be a part of it. Thanks for the upload. Great memories.
One night there was an after party in the top room. We owned Innocence 94.3fm so got to stay. Best times. Liked the rocket but went deaf for 2 days as the sound system was not set up right. Bagleys was the nuts especially in the very early days. It was like walking into a wonderland. Later on it just got like a tin of sardines which was a shame.
Absolutely loved Lab @ The 4 Aces, easily my favourite venue and I used to go to a LOT of raves in London and around the country in the 90's chasing the hardcore and DnB nights. Big up Terry the doorman for letting us in when we (me and my lot) were all blatantly under age!!! Happy hardcore downstairs and Jungle the next floor up, so many mad times and memories. I remember one time we rolled out all sketchy at about 5am for whatever reason, and ordered a cab that was due in 20mins or so. Anyway, this mini-cab pulls up in less than 5, and we pile in. "High & Islington station please mate" we tell the Rasta driver, but he starts driving the other direction..... we then notice there's a big hole where the stereo should be that's got exposed wires hanging out, and what looks like talcum powder all over the dashboard?!?! After some frantic tapping and whispering on the back seat, we all bailed at the next traffic lights and RAN, with an angry Rasta giving a short-lived sprint behind us lol. Ahhhh Labrynth; a glimpse of paradise in what was then a notoriously rough part of town. Nice one for the upload!
Dirty, grimey, dark slum hole but we went back week in week out for the best nights in london. Inside the club was a safe haven a million miles away from it surroundings. Oi oi to the labz family
I was dancing my tits off 90-91 at Labrynth and then Club UK 94 - 95 messed up on E. Such good vibes, feelings and times. So lucky to have been there ... here... comes... the rush!!!
As weird as this was without doubt one of the best eras of my life there's something deeply sad about it. I think it's the anxiety that no matter what happens you will never be able to experience it again.
Top, top club. We use to flit between R.I.P @ the clink, dance wicked ( under the arches) Dungeons, and 4 aces....all were great nights. I remember talking to this ICF geezer and his misses who were off there heads and couldn’t stand up because they had a dove....so after a bit of bartering we joined them..f### me it was strong....this was early 1990. Joe was a great geezer and much respect to the way he ran the club nights and the staff were a credit. I ended up chatting to him on ITK forum years later and swapping stories as he’s Spurs and I’m Chelsea. Kudos big time for putting this up. X
haha these days were just so fucking original they just can't ever be imitated (~93)... I went to one in a different venue many years later and it just wasn't the same. 4 aces club was just unique and completely mental, also with garden outside. quite small, hence rammed and with that cellar and attic. almost squat like and miles away from commercial clubs in spite of being one.
i wonder how many labrynth babies there are ? I know of at least six ,three of them mine met my girlfriend there 15.04.95. we still go too..was best weekly rave .no lager no attitude ,just sweaty hardcore ravers raving, best vibe.. THANKS JOE
I cant tell you what it means to find this again. In 92 when this was recorded, Adrian Age came out to play a party in Melbourne, Australia in an underground (literally) warehouse on the Maribyrnong river in Footscray called "Every Picture Tells a Story 2". He said to the promoter, "Here's a tape of me playing at Desire last weekend" but he'd brought the wrong tape! I was working on the party and soon had a dub of the tape. It was staple diet on the walkman and blasting Prahran - dancing in the kitchen till dripping with sweat. #STAMINA I dubbed it for other friends and twice received it back from them after having it stolen in a walkman (devastated.. about the tape) and lost in a move. Its part of my life.... I need to find the rest...
Yeah was a regular on a friday cant beat those nights buzzing hard on them snowballs come on Desire 92 Tasco warehouse plumstead Was there and went that rave plenty times
Just found where I live (Dalston Square) was this club. Funny thing is I live in Labyrinth Tower. Missed out. But I was like 13 when all this was going on.
My dad raved there in the 60's, i raved there in the 90's :) Hackney Council named one of the Blocks after Newton, the owner. He still DJ's in Dalston today.
dalston 1995ish sitting in the puff garden when a brick fell from the building missing my head by inchs!! damn that rave was something else literally shaking itself apart!
No killings or gangs looking to stab someone, that’s why there’s no late night venues nowadays. To much grief, someone gets stabbed and dies, they close it down. 02 was one of the last 24hr venues. Then someone got stabbed, ‘it got closed down.’
This is a great video of labs but at the same time a bit disappointing for me. I started going to labs at 12 Dalston have been a resident host at labs ever since. I don't understand why there isn't even a pic of me on any of ur footage as I am and always have had a big part to play in their events. Oh well, good to c parts of the big 12D again, big up

I locked myself in the toilets at Labrynth. Not on purpose. I was so off my head I couldn't find the exit. Happy days, thanks for posting this.

This is amazing, took me right back love it
Man I was just getting into that 'ardcore groove when the video ended mate
Amazes me that they allow these beautiful structures with a colourful past (😉) to be knocked down to then allow some lifeless buildings to be built.
Just found where I live (Dalston Square) was this club. Funny thing is I live in Labyrinth Tower. Missed out. But I was like 13 when all this was going on.
the 4 aces club left such a legacy they named the tower after the rave which was held there every weekend. be great if you was in number 12.
My dad raved there in the 60's, i raved there in the 90's :) Hackney Council named one of the Blocks after Newton, the owner. He still DJ's in Dalston today.
