- Here's the new DJ I Phantom 4. I discovered something interesting it can do.

Here it is 2021 now and I just received my Phantom 4, used of course, but I feel the same excitement you did in the video.
Although mine is used it is in great condition and sounds like a weed whacker when I fly it. Music to my ears!
I'm waiting on mine now....also it's used (refurbished) I really am excited about i hope it goes well the fact that it's used makes me feel a little nervous but it has a warranty so I guess that's cool. 😁
Get some new props of they look damaged to reduce the noise a little
5:30 "I feel like it jars all the mechanisms inside"
5:59 *jars all the mechanisms inside*
Just a tip, at least draw attention to "here's the hidden feature" so I can at least be disappointed in the right thing. At the end I was left still not knowing what the hidden feature was. I don't think you intended it to be click-bait but that is the effect you created. Now that you are aware, I recommend you edit the video or title to maintain some level of respect if you desire.
+Ken Lien Sorry you were disappointed Ken.
It wasn't my intention to deceive people. I was just trying to make a fun video. The hidden capability is twofold. One, that you can write on it. Two, that having a phantom 4 brings unbridled joy and happiness.
Ken Heron Do not worry, it was fun! And sure it is an hidden feauture!
You have a great sense of humour, an entertaining delivery and informative content so thumbs up from another Aussie, thanks...
Funny, and very well explained! thanks a lot
Thanks Javier!
I have had a Phantom 2 Vision, a Phantom 3 Pro and now the Phantom 4. I flew/filmed the P3 Pro in the Dominican Republic without a hitch, loved it. The P4 is even better. One thing to note...They do not hover well a couple of feet off the deck over grass or anything that moves from the prop wash. The stereoscope vision software cannot resolve the moving blades of grass. It would be impractical to expect otherwise and the moving grass creates noise in the sonography as well I believe. I am going to test it a couple of feet off of the thick foliage of a tree.
Nonetheless...I love it. I did have one situation where it wanted to land without a request, no low battery and that would be scary without the FPV. It was behind some trees and had I not seen the ground coming...oh well!!
Great video. I dont suggest hand catching though. This quad has excellent controls and you should be able to hover it an inch over the ground and gently set it down. However , If you have it in return to home , I suggest taking it out of it before it lands . I have a video showing how fast it comes down and if it hits the cement like that several times, it could do some damage.
I always land on grass if I can... softer landing 😄
+Adam M Killick I had to land on taller grass yesterday and the P4 seemed to want to tip . I use to land my Tarot 820 on grass only . But this P4 lands so nice and easy , I find that I have no problems landing on any hard surface.
i agree hand catching is not safe method of landing a drone, just one mistake that close and your going to the hospital.
I think I did. I went as far as I could before losing signal. Still pretty good distance!
+Ken Heron How many feet or miles did you take it out,? Not up but out..
+Ken Heron I think you made it pretty far considering you had trees blocking the signal.
+Ken Heron
whats the hidden capability??
So what was the hidden capability?
That you can write on it, and it provides unbridled joy!
I always love reading the comments section on any drone videos to see the obligatory "I'm broke send me a drone" comment. You content creators must get it all the time.
I'm all set for drones thanks i just came for your awesome content
Haaaa, that's very true.
And 99-percent of those are from the same two countries.
🇵🇭🇮🇳
I’m sorry I thought this was going to be something intelligent, my bad.
well Ken, I certainly didn't know that I could write on my phantom 4, but I think people were expecting some deep dark secret that only DJI developers knew about...
Ken was involved in a very serious vehicle accident and is currently hospitalized. If you would like to help Ken with some of his losses and medical bills, a GoFundMe Account has been setup for Ken. 100% of this goes straight to Ken to help in his recovery and expenses. Any amount you can possibly donate would be so tremendously appreciated. Also, check out Ready Set Drone for updates on Ken.

The best drone till now. I have one and i really love hanging out with it.
"Here's the new DJ I Phantom 4. I discovered something interesting it can do." but what?
You can write on it!!
@@KenHeron O lol
You are great. I just bought a Phantom 4 & love it. Thanks for the tips. Excellent video.
Welcome to the drone community!
You love the Drone so much
I do indeed!!
@@KenHeron you know I love the Drone so much please give your phone number
@@KenHeron I,m not haven to do so because I,m not having drone
i know the excitement. The first fed ex truck pulled up and dropped a package to my neibor and pulled off. Tracking showed the package was out for delivery so I was very nervous. I had it delivered to my business and I close at 5, I planned on staying as long as necessary and rite at 5, a junky little fed ex pulled into the parking lot and passed up my business, I saw he was reading something as he idled by. I ran and stopped him, and yes, he had my long awaited phantom 4 pro. Happy flying my friend and thanks for video, much enjoyed.
It's been a while, but I can still remember how fun it was getting that drone!
Do you stick your hand in a blender, while it's running? Land that thing like it was meant to be. These things can go out of control.
Well, if you want to hurt yourself, go right ahead. I usually avoid the spinny parts.
Whatever floats yer boat!
Nice production...I always get excited when I see the brown truck...
Heck's yeah!
Thats just weird
Really? i watched the whole thing to see the Hidden Capability, and it was, Being able to Draw on it? There is 7 mins i'll never get back....
Brian Davis thankfully I read your comment under a min into the video lol
I love the enthusiasm in your videos! I need to start watching your channel more often
Thanks!
There's plenty for you to chose from.
Please Please Please don’t “catch” your drone.....!!!!! It can try to autocorrect and slice your hand/arm/face badly. This is really unsafe on drones this size.
You're wrong.
It doesn't autocorrect.
Actually it is built to be catched like that. Because if you are somewhere you can't land (high grass etc.). Landing into smth like that can potentially hurt the gimball and that's what no one wants. I land into hand most of times with my Phantom.
Just got a phantom 4 this week. I love it so much.
Why did RUclips recommend this to me 3 years later not mad just why
It must've known you needed a smile?
Ken Heron I did though I my battery died from my parrot bepop 1 so I need a new one R.I.P $50,00
Batteries are expensive, but the most critical piece of gear for drones. 👍
Ken Heron yep
Like it. Same feelings waiting for the UPS brownnie, and always catch it, yes sir.
ill bet that you also made that UPS guys day too
Indeed!
thanks Ken unreal how hard it is to get support from others. I love your videos thank u for giving us ( the viewer's) the chance to learn something from u . look forward to more . thanks again.
Dude... you are never to catch your drone... you are supposed to land it...
Thanks for the concern, but that's a personal choice. Less experienced pilots should land on the ground naturally.
+Ken Heron I think it would be more natural for landing your drone than catching it (unless it's about to land on sand, snow, etc) because it's a lot more risky to catch it, even if you're an experienced flier and I don't think it would mess with the mechanics at all. Anyways, Nice video! I Subscribed
For Safety Reasons The Best is To Land Your Drone on the Ground and at a Reasonable Distance In Order To Avoid An Accident, Don´t Forget That Devil is on The Loose...
Throw back. This was one of the first videos i watched from you, 10 months ago wow time flies. And also this is the time i fell in love with your comedy, epic as always!
Aww shucks. Thanks bud. More people should SCROLL-BACK, there's lots of nifty stuff there!
Ken Heron I know right, like "good bye old friend" or "matches are for pussies" laughed so much on these videos.
Misleading title :(
Not really Sam. There were several hidden capabilities. Watch again.
Sweet ! My nephew gave me Phantom 2 Vision Plus v3 with extended range antennas and the transmitter has a plastic version of the I Pad holder thing a megiger . I Love mine Phantom so I understand your excitement . Thank you for sharing this !!
Where the hell is the HIDDEN CAPABILITY ????
That you can draw on it! And it makes you giddy with happiness.
You are Crazy aren't you Ken! But we still love your video's most are very informing....
James Kaelin
yes he is crazy
he just said that to make people watch his video that is sick
isn't that what you got 1K thumbs down?
This man is on speed
Never get that time back
You're right William. Time is a construct and a very precious thing. We should never waste it here and there or anywhere in fact. Time is fleeting and we are about ships selling upon it hitherto once we came from years ago. Wasting time is really kind of the worst thing you can do to another person because we are only here for a little while and time is in fact finite. We don't have a lot of it in the grand scheme of things, and if you waste someone's time on frivolous things like a video or this long ass comment you're reading, well...
Oh dear... Looks like I've done it again. There goes a little bit more of your time I have stolen. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
What a blast! Can't wait to see my UPS truck on approach! Thank you!
Thank you!
Zzzzzz... still waiting for, "a hidden capability"... 😁
One bad salesperson
Thanks!i guess I am pretty bad to the bone.
Possibly one of the best things iv'e ever seen. Can't wait to get mine tomorrow.
+Fyson Awesome! Have fun!!
horrible advice... catch it lol
Haha! And I thought I was excited when my Phantom 4 arrived. Even the UPS guy seemed happy afterwards.
Weirdo
I believe you may be correct.
You and your videos are a fresh pleasure to watch. Thx Boston K
+ken powell Thank you very much Ken!
I just love your comic presentations. Excellent reviews. Thanks
This guy's energy at the beginning of the video was dope. It’s just like me sitting there gazing out in the open hoping and praying that my package arrived😂😂😂
Dang it, I just got click baited by an old dude. I aint even mad, this vid is great.
Thanks You mention stuff a lot of other people neglect to do.
I appreciate the positive comment Frikkie.
Bloody hell, that poor DHL man, he was probably shitting himself thinking "as soon as I step through that door this guy is going to bring out a chainsaw"
+Bubblegummonsters HAA!! ---I prefer a hand saw. (You can really hear the bones CRUNCH!)
+Ken Heron Ha ha, true.
Haha, was nice to see the happines. I received mine in March 28, me too haven't stop smiling.
Indeed Artur, the Phantom 4 is the cause of many smiles.
Great intro !! I have the Phantom 4 for some weeks now and all i can say is... GET ONE NOW !! it's really awsome ... i' ve programmed with Litchi app and Google earth, and it really goes where you send it without any problems... Nice !! We are leaving for a documentary in august , shooting in Alaska and be sure i'll use this drone for some of my footage !!
`
VERY nice Luc! (Love the hat.)
One day I hope to have an opportunity to film in Alaska as well. Happy droning!
Questions: How far to the lake? Were there as many trees blocking your LOS as it appeared? Really great that the the P4 kept connected!
+smichelsen The lake was about a mile away. Trees were blocking my LOS. Yes, the P4 has less connection issues than the P4. (Main reason I bought it.)
Thanks for the vids Ken, I've got a Phantom 4 and you have the best content around..gradually going through all your vids and buying stuff! Although it's winter in the UK now so it's tucked up warm for the spring..
Thanks so much Alex!
Keep hibernating until Spring. 🤓
Absolutely! I'm in the Peak District so theres a lot of drone potential on my doorstep. Have a good holiday @@KenHeron
Finally someone making an enjoyable Phantom 4 video! Thanks a whole lot Ken, and keep up the good work and spirit!
Greetings from Norway :)
Thanks Elias! --Hello Norway!
I'd like to visit up there one day!
Ooooh the gayety of it all
Thanks Ken your a star
Love the energy. Which camera and stabilizer were those?
Thank you Izzy! I used the DJI Osmo.
Just discovered you today! Great stuff, your positivity is infectious in the best way possible! Hoping to get myself one of these one day!
+Spencer George Thank you VERY much Spencer!
Reading some of the negative comments to a video I posted for FUN bums me out sometimes. Good to get a positive comment. When you're ready to get yours, contact me and I bet I can get you a considerable discount!
I doubt they understand that you aren't doing this solely for profit. Don't let it get to you! And I will for sure!
+Spencer George Thank you Spencer.
It is widely accepted that you SHOULD NOT hand catch. For several reasons: it's dangerous and the user is at high risk of injury; Catching (as was demonstrated in this video) causes stress on the aircraft props. Simply land on a soft surface like a door mat or an area with short grass. Common sense really.
I always catch my DJI 3 out of the air too, with right hand your thumb comes right down on the battery's power button. I shut the rotors down with other hand on the controler's sticks, and then drone's battery right after that.
I had a 2, and just some hard landings, no crashes, would eventually really degrade its gimbal.
Yes indeed Craig! --Catching is the way.
LOL youtube recommended this video like it was new, so i watched it.. Ken, I am so glad other people get just as excited as me when waiting for stuff like this to be delivered....my wife said it's weird- next time she brings it up i'll just tell her Ken Heron does it too.
Haaa!!
That's awesome.
Glad you watched, thanks Jay and wife!
Just found this through autoplay, really well made video! I hope the channel's new because it deserves more subs then it currently has :P
I appreciate you saying that Luke!
I agree.
Great video Ken. Love your excited moment with the UPS driver...lol
+FAA Approved Drone Operators Thanks! ---Love your channel name!!
LOL Ken you're a very entertaining guy. Dry erase markers are also good for ERASING SHARPIE pens! Yes, seems weird but it's been long known in the autograph world that you can use either a dry eraser marker or a PrismaColor Magic Rub eraser to erase sharpies on a photo (lab prints not ink jet) or other items such as mini helmets. GREAT VIDEO!
Thanks!
I didn't know that about erasing sharpie. Sounds like one of those urban legends, but I'm sure it's true.
Thank you for watching!
Oh, it's NOT an urban legend. I've done it many times. Many times athletes etc will not sign photos etc unless it is personalized to the person or a person i.e. To Ken....Then you just erase that portion of the "signature". Anyway, I just ordered the shade for my controller. Love your site. The lanyard may be another purchase soon.
Great! Much appreciated.
Great video Ken, thank you for posting.
You are very welcome Steve!
THANK YOU FOR THE OCEAN INFO " RALPH IN Huntington Beach Ca.......awesome info as always..................
Awesome video!!! Thank you for sharing!
+Frank Verde Thanks Frank!!
I just got mine today downhere in sunny miami Florida and I can't wait to go to the beach with it thanks
Congratulations on your new drone
Nothing new for me, but you are of course a very entertaining guy, Ken! Enjoyed your vid.
Thanks Alf.
I know this is a old video but it was great seeing you get your P4 Thanks
First video of yours I've watched and you made me laugh. I was disappointed with the hidden capability though, I see why you put it in the title though, very clever of your sir. Keep making people smile!
Hello Lee! Thanks for the comment. I'm sorry you weren't fully satisfied with that video. Tell you what...
I will refund your money, no problem! (Hee-Hee.) Have an awesome day!!
+Ken Heron haha. Much obliged. Just send the cash to 24... haha more than satisfied. Take care, from across the pond.
This Video ... From the first second to the last second .... really insane, cool, beautiful, interesting and finally, very entertaining. Greetings rom the Netherlands!
Pretty fun guy! What is the Mic equipment ur using? Link?
lol the ups guy is my santa! lol i love it too! even if its a sample piece of flooring ! awesome buddy!
+Chet Langford Thanks Chet!
I liked this video mate, thumbs up. Cheers from the IGY Simpson Bay Marina, Sint Maarten in the Caribbean.
Thank you kindly Capt'n!
Questions based on my read of the FAA material:1) Aren't drones of that weight supposed to be operated line of sight? It didn't seem to me you had line of sight while it went to the lake.2) What did you have to do with the FAA to legally operate a drone for a commercial use such as aerial photography?
1.) Yes. I had my eyes on it through the trees, and there was a spotter on the property at the lake. (My friend owns the property.)
2.) I haven't made any money from droning, but the FAA will require those who want to monetize to have a business to get a 333 Exemption. You can apply here: www.faa.gov/uas/legislative_programs/section_333/ Best of luck!
Thanks and great link!
Based on FAA guidelines, activity that generates revenue from UAV "drone"is considered commercial use (meaning this video). Commercial use requires a section 333 exemption, pilot license obtained by operator, a visual observer (spotter), notam (notice to airmen) filed, monthly FAA reporting, COA in specific airspace, etc. knowbeforeyoufly.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/KBYF_Brochure.pdf
thanks for the information. nicely put together video.
You bet!
Great video. Well made. thanks for the fun! We would love to get a drone but can't yet!
+Axe Family Thank you Axe Family! ---try coptersource.com they have one for $499 called the Phantom Standard.
You definitely made that delivery driver's day. You even made him blush like Santa Claus!
You know Gabe... I think the DID blush! --But I couldn't see him do it, through my tears of JOY! !
LoL. Your happiness is contagious. I know the feeling, and I can relate to it. Once, the delivery came on the scheduled day, but it wasn't my new toy. It was something for my room mate! Oh, the horror! I made him go look on his truck to make sure a 65 inch 4K TV wasn't hiding anywhere. Turns out, they had lost it, but I looked out the window until 11pm, (their customer service said that's the latest it would show up). It was at the warehouse the whole time. I'll give my delivery guy a hug and video it like you did, next time. That was great.
Great video Ken. Just for the record, "Sushi" is vinegared rice. "Sashimi" is raw fish.
You learn something every day. Thanks!
modern day unsung heroes! Delivery Men! hahahhah made me smile, thanks man!
Yeah... You can't wait to see UPS, then totally ignore 'em once the package arrives! Sort of sad.
Thumbs up for the UPS bit... I think we can all relate to this! Too funny...
Much appreciated Tim.
Man!!!!! He's so so so gooood!!!❤️
Thank you, I got a big ol' smile watching your video. I enjoyed it very much.
Great! --That's the idea.
I'm happy you liked it, Homero!
God Bless you, living in the big city (Chicago) where to many bad things happen here, then looking for info regarding my dji phantom4, I came across your video. Talk about stopping and smelling the roses, I was in much need of a good laugh. Love your positive attitude, keep up the great work Brother.
Great video mate and nice channel. Thumbs up from Sydney Australia
Thanks Australia!
Hi Ken, what a fantastic video, have you got the phantom 4 pro, I would love to try a phantom 3 pro one day.
I do have the P4. LOVE it!
That is what we always want to do when good stuff is delivered on our home! lol
I was SO excited that day.
I can imagine! Wish I have a Phantom 4! lol
Hello Ken Heron....congratulations for your new Phantom 4. I have just bought the Phantom 3 Standard (in Brazil all of them are too expensive !!) and I am learning how to fly and have good footages yet. See you around !!!!
Welcome to the drone club Julio! You're going to have lots of fun!
+Ken Heron. Many thanks!! I
Good review~ I highly agree with Placebo Addy.
Absolutely loved the UPS part and subscribed. Was so exciting that I almost felt like I actually bought one :-).
HA!! That's great! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Yeah, I had that same feeling running in me too :-)
Glad I'm not the only one who acted like a 6 year old boy on Christmas morning when my drone arrived!
Ooooooh... SO excited!
I do not think I would go to copter source to buy but I do love your videos. Catching your drone would be for the Expert and not advised for anyone else. I imagine you are trying to teach the amateur and the pro; there should be separate videos for each catagory. I have one now but have not flown it, could I catch it probably but it would not be advised.. They do cause damage if you miss; better to be a two eyed earthling then one or zero. Proper landings will also hone your skills.
Of course.
Only juggle flaming chainsaws after much practice.
haha. nice vid. i was actually at their physical store again today :) needed the Osmo case and some spare batteries, plus 2 chargers... they had it all in stock. its only about 30 minutes outside of Houston and i get great service from Laura every time.
Yes, Copter Source is great. Thanks for letting me know!
You're gonna have fun with all of that STUFF!
A little off topic but Damn your house is gorgeous! Love the wood paneling on the walls! Quick question could a compass out of calibration cause gps loss or possibly an IMU out of calibration maybe? The loss is intermittent but still annoying. Sometimes it switches to Atti mode then back to GPS
Make sure firmware is updated and do regular IMU calibrating.
(That's my work, not my house.)
thought i was the only one that went giddy when the delivery truck showed up.
HA! UPS: Underappreciated Present Sender!
VERY GOOD video - very entertaining! I just got my phantom 4 - i'm using it to improve my vlogs and for some movies
In a nice kind of way Ken you're nuts :) great video mate straight to the point and like the friendlyness with Mr UPS. I was a delivery driver for a company called White Arrow Express guy in the UK (then it was 'Reality' then HDNL (Homre Delievery Network Limited) now it's call 'YODEL') I was made reduntant 6yrs before it became YODEL. Miss it a lot mainly cos' of the costumers! mine were really friendly great tips a Xmas time.
Wish I was still doing it the I would be able to afford a new DJI P4. At the moment I have a Blade 350 QX3 BNF. So if you get bored of the P4 (or even the P3) send it over :)
Cheers mate. PS It's late now so will check out ure other videos 2morro. MR
+Martin Rodgers Thank you Martin!
The UPSguy in the video is a super nice guy. He delivers to our radio station a bunch, so he knows things get a bit "fun" now and then. Have fun with your drone!
Excitable fella.
Who am I kidding, I'm hitting refresh every half second on my parcel tracking page right now, waiting for my Phantom 4. Eeee!
Love this video
Love you for loving it.
So marketing on it was the hidden capability?
Yes... Yes it was. Hope you bought three.
Hi , I'm from Argentina sorry for the translation, very nice video , I just wanted to say that I forget to remove the second gimbal protector and one of the axes will be locked if not removed, I send greetings
+Ciztema Jose Okay, thank you.
my first comment I've watched every single one of your videos I am a survivor also I just want to say I cannot wait to get my drone I have not gotten one yet and I'm so excited to okay can't afford it just yet but I'm going to get one soon so thanks to you I'm going to take my test and get myself all ready to go and once I just hope I don't crash as soon as I get it but watching your videos and understanding everything that goes along with it I'm going to say to you thank you thank you for all your time and effort in all your videos
