The DJI Phantom 4 series are the Cadillac of the Skies. I love my P3s Gooneybird and P4P Heron Bird. You are right every drone has its own benefits. The Mavics are very useful in their small format for taking to places it would be to difficult to lug a Phantom and its case. Thanks for sharing this, the Phantoms will always have their place in drone history. They were the trailblazers in this crazy hobby we all love.
I have had a Phantom 3 Pro, a Phantom 4 Pro plus the original Mavic Pro. Sold the Mavic and have been happily flying the Phantom professionally with my Part 107 license. It never fails to perform. Glad they brought it back.

That was my drone of choice, now 2 years ago. It's still a great, stable drone. I have flown others, including the Skydio R1, and I do like the fact that it and the new Skydio 2 are almost impossible to crash. I tried to crash it, and couldn't! If the P4P had that capability, then it would be the drone most people by. That said, bang for buck, the P4P is still the best deal out there! The others are still playing catch up with it! Mavic Pro 2 (I believe) has the same 1" sensor, so it has caught up, but how well does it fly? I don't know, since I have not had a chance to fly it yet. (I'm a licensed sUAS Pilot of 2 years, now. I fly my drone mostly commercially.)

Thank you again Ken. Correct me if I'm wrong but the benefit of an 8k resolution is the fact that there is so much more data which helps with post editing. My understanding is that it's more for editing than displaying on the upcoming 8k screens.
I own six drones and my P4P V 2 always gets in the air first. I tell many friends and family and other u tube droners, that this bird simply just rocks it. Superb image quality and just overall a joy to fly. When I travel by airplane it is so sad to leave it behind although the Mavic 2 pro is a fantastic alternative. So nice to see that somebody else appreciates this drone as much as I do.
The Phantom 4 IS the best! I have the 4 Pro Plus v.1, and it is simply bulletproof. My 3 pro crashed and burned yesterday at 30ft., when the battery died without warning. The 4 just doesn't have the issues that all of my 3's did. I love it dearly. My 4 needs a new purty blue case, too. I'm not lying, either.
I have both the Phantom4/Pro and the standard version for my business. They are both the most awesome drones I have ever seen or used. The standard produces 400 MB per minute of video. While the Pro produces 900 MB per minute video. Both are 4K but the Pro has more information that it gives on the file. So besides having a larger sensor with better lowlight ability it produces more information. But the standard is plenty good for daylight work. I love both products.
For a while I had both the Phantom and Mavic (I usually keep two drones around). Got to the point my Phantom sat on the shelf collecting dust, as I just enjoyed flying the Mavic's so much more. Both seem to take the same quality photos and video, but the Mavic just seems quieter, lower profile, lands without tipping, etc.
@@donthedroneguy56 - that's what I think. I prefer a low profile when flying (real estate, marketing stuff) and quieter/smaller profile is a huge advantage. Perhaps speaking to my lack of flying skills I also had a tendency to tip the Phantom while landing - maybe only once a year, but enough I'd always have extra props around.

I just got a lightly used phantom 4 pro (obsidian edition) on eBay and I absolutely love it. I have a mavic air also, which was my first drone and is also great but the phantom is now my go to drone for any drone work I do. It’s bigger, more stable, has longer flight time and honestly just looks more professional infront if my clients than the little guy.

I bought my Phantom 4 Pro August 2018 when rumors where it was going to be phased out. Best Buy put it on clearance for $980. Yes, that was a rain of money saved... Flying it and capturing fantastic pictures and video is my best time of being alive. I started out with the Phantom 3 then the 3-Pro learning and enjoyed them a lot. DJI has always been a reliable bed fellow. Starting with the Spark, to the Mavic Air & to the Phantom 2. I've never owned the Phantom 4 but from viewing through your own experiences Ken, the DJI Phantom 4 is the best drone ever, Case Closed.👍

Hello Ken. I’m fairly new to droning, but find myself coming back to your videos time and time again. I think I even commented on something three years old! I own the Phantom 3 Standard and the Phantom 4, the first model. Maybe someday I will get the 4 Pro. I think like you though, the Phantoms are the best! Impressive to look at and no doubt the workhorse of drones.
It's nice to see the P4P V2 making a comeback. My first real drone was P4. There will always be a special place in my heart for the Phantom series of drones from DJI.
I purchased my Phantom 4 Pro+ for Christmas 2019 and it's the best drone I now own. And that's saying a lot! I also own a Mavic 2 Pro & Zoom, my second and third best drone I own of the five in my fleet!
My P4 was my first drone in 2016 , great way to start and to this day I have owned all the DJI drones including Inspires , but while some of them I have sold , I’ve always hung onto my P4. It’s only now I’m selling it as I’ve replaced it with the P4 V2. Oh and I like the quiet props so each to their own 😊
I just repurchased a Phantom 4 Pro after losing my Mavic 2 Pro and feel right back at home. I never was as comfortable flying the Mavic. Even with the Phantom 4 Pro being an older drone, the video is superior (no pixel binning, higher clarity with apertures, no barrel distortion) and the controller has always been top notch! Hi Ken, yesterday was my wedding anniversary(sorry, didn't mean to rub it in). Which reminds me, like the song says "stand by your drone". I stand by my Mavic 2 Pro. It may not be a Phantom 4 Pro V.2, but it serves me well and it is easy to carry around. Here's one for ya. A guy goes speed dating and he says to the girl: "Phantom 4 or Mavic 2 Pro?" Puzzled, the girl says: "What?" The guy then stands up and says "Next!"
I started with a Phantom (1) . And was lucky to get 6 mins air time. Then the Phantom 2, Phantom 3 pro, and now I primarily fly a Phantom 4 advanced (with a Mavic Air as a “tight corner” or family holiday drone) . And I couldn’t agree with you more. By far the best and most reliable UAV on the market. And until you get to the X7, the best camera as well. But that is £10,000 worth 🤯😁
The Phantom series is hands down my favorite. I've owned 4 DJI drones (Currently own a P4P & M2P) and I gotta say, nothing handles quite like the Phantom series. Scary to think DJI might not put out another one considering the Phantom is in a weird space between the Mavic and Inspire but IF there's a P5 announcement, I'll be the first to preorder!

Phantom 4 Pro series is also in my opinion the best drone! I have seen drone flyers in taking pictures and videos in hopes of selling houses using the Phantom series drone. Combating weather conditions and heights upwards to 400' ft just show stables flights. I have two and the drone I gamble on is the Phantom 3! I'll send it in places difficult for most and I haven't lost it yet. I'll use the Phantom 4 for our vacation videos. Enjoy I need that case!

The DJI Phantom 4 is the best drone ever made. In fact, I have three of them. (Don't tell my wife.) (Also have a Parrot Anafi for other situations.) My first P4P I've had over two years with heavy use and never crashed. I got a second hardly-used one with three batteries for $800 on Craigslist, but crashed from battery failure. While it was repaired by DJI for $230, I bought a third one for $700 with that GPC case and three high-capacity batteries only charged 2-3 times from a photographer who didn't want to do the part 107. (I haven't had occasion to use the case, because it is heavy compared to the foam one.) I have dozens of those regular propellers; and would like another set of the low-noise propellers.
I couldn't agree with you more... I own Phantom 4Pro and it keeps surprising me how stable and versitile that drone is... I think for that price tag you can't get a better drone for sure...
I loved my Phantom 3 Pro, it was a great drone and is now a great decoration on my shelf. It just looks cool sitting up there because I custom painted it black, and it has the carbon fiber props. It will never fly again since the ecs went out and I don't plan to fix it since I have newer drones that easily fit in my camera bag so there are no issues with taking them with me everywhere I go. That's right, I can fit two of them in my camera bag so I always have a spare to ensure I always get my shots. I loved the Phantoms I just think the design is outdated even though the specs are not. The Mavic 2 Pro is the weapon of choice for me now but I will always have fond memories of the Phantoms.
Have to agree with you Ken, P4P just gets the job done. Considering mines taken some beating over the years, it's still a dependable piece of kit. The Inspires just too big to hump around and worry about damaging, never been into the Mavics either....
The DJI Phantom 4 is the best drone ever made Case Closed! A very short story, by ATG Cinema. The Phantom 4 Pro is THE drone that allowed me to build the foundation I have for my business. It is simply the single most versatile and reliable (with the NLD FIrmware at least) drone that I have ever used? Matrice 210? Doesn't work half the time. Inspire 2 with Zenmuse X5S? Gorgeous camera, but can't map. The P4P just does literally everything I could ever need. Without this drone I wouldn't be where I am today, and I'm thrilled that DJI brought back the V2 so that I don't have to get one used!

Well Kenny my man..The Xs and Os of the pantom series, as you illustrated, is that it was a very deliberate and focused effort over those years to "get it RIGHT" when it comes to a user friendly, high quality, reliable and durable flying camera..for ANY situation, that eventually zenithed into our beloved 4 series. It is quite literally an icon that brought that childhood wish to fly to all of us dreamers that just dont WANT to take our heads out of the clouds sometimes, and when you see that lil twinkle in a kids eyes when they come running up saying "Wowwww..Is that a Phantom?!?!"..That's right buddy, it sure is 👍.."MAN.. That's SOOO awesome!!"..well...yeah buddy, it sure IS 😊 We all know in this day and age there are many MANY outstanding drones out there in their own respect..undeniably. But nothing else looks like it wants to give you big ole hug when you hold it up without the props on,and nothing does anything close to cause emotions like that...not Evo, not Inspire, not skydio, and none of the Mavics! It's an icon that has endeared itself to people all over the world, and as good as all those other guys are Ken the only problem is...they're just not a Phantom 😉 Because the Phantom 4 is the best drone EVER made, case closed!
There was a good Phantom 4 in local second hand shop in town over Christmas for £400 .I saved my money & went in week later, it had sadly gone 😥 . Stay young at heart Ken

I have the pre 2.0 version but no worries it does everything I ask AND even came home one time all by itself after I stupidly flew behind a tall building. (who knew that the owner of 5B at the Palms Condo had an Art Deco couch, lamp and end table combo) Obstacle avoidance is great thing!
yep... I started with the P3 4k...(2016) I had an Inspire 1 v2.0.. It flies super, but the features of the P4P-Obsidian are the best. (Actually my P4P Obsidian will match the nice blue of the GpC Case) LOL!!

My first drone was the P4Pv2 and it was killer but recently I traded it for the Mavic 2 Pro. I think the Mavic flies easier and the portability is what I was really looking for. You can't really go wrong if you get the Phantom but realize how big it is.
You are correct Ken, "The DJI Phantom 4 is the best drone ever made Case Closed!" My start was with my home build DJI F550 Flamewheel and then the P3 Standard, P4 and now P4 pro and Mavic series. Phantom 4 Pro is definitely my goto drone also because of the 1inch sensor and mechanical shutter. I should go back to the non-silent props and check out the performance differences. That is interesting and did not give it too much thought. Currently, the air temperature where I live is pretty cold and the higher density air mass make for great flying performance. The same goes for aircraft. Take-off performance is much better when cold vs when it's hot.

I started with the mavic and it has very quickly become my go-to drone (I suppose you never forget your first love, on the other one....!). But; the thing is, if your camera is still producing the goods, then there's no need to replace it! P.S. There silent props because you don't use them....! 😏

I've had a Phantom 3 Advanced for several years and now that I've got my 107, I decided to step it up. Can't afford to keep them both, so I got rid of the Phantom 3 and took delivery of my brand new shiny Phantom 4 Pro V2.0 yesterday. Unfortunately, due to funding shortages, I had to opt for extra batteries instead of the Go Professional case. Lo and behold, I see this giveaway this morning! Ken, you must have ESP... Yup. I'm glad that the Phantom 4 Pro v2.0 finally came back. Choosing a Mavic 2 Pro over the P4P was my huge mistake. I lost it due to disconnection and flyaway last July night. However, I still have my P3S, P3A and P4 drones. All of them are Phantom that I currently have. I was thinking about getting a new Phantom 4 Pro V2 if a brand new Mavic 3 Pro isn't what I expect until I just saw your video. I better off get a P4P soon, than regretting later again. Why I like the P4P better, it is because of C4K 60fps that the M2P doesn't have. I agreed what you have said about the Phantom 4 Pro as a king in the sky. Thank you for this video.
I’ve flown many hours on both the Mavic and Phantom lines, and I like the Phantom better, too. The only real advantage I’ve seen of the Mavic is portability. But if I can reasonably use the Phantom, I almost always will grab it first.

Hi Ken I can not be more in agree with you. For me, the Phantom 4 Pro is the king drone in terms of reliability, distance, and specially his camera quality due his mechanical shutter. As Agronomist, I make photogrammetry and topography work using drones since two and a half years ago and I think it is an invaluable tool in my work. That is why I believe that "The DJI Phantom 4 is the best drone ever. Case closed" and I also believe that this beautiful and resistant box for my Phantom 4 pro would be perfect for the field work I do. Lately I also have been using my Mavic 2 Pro more because it so much less noise. M2P is a real good aircraft!!
@@donthedroneguy56 - that's what I think. I prefer a low profile when flying (real estate, marketing stuff) and quieter/smaller profile is a huge advantage. Perhaps speaking to my lack of flying skills I also had a tendency to tip the Phantom while landing - maybe only once a year, but enough I'd always have extra props around.
Yep. Not sure what other advanteges of P4 could Ken go "on and on" about but mechnical shutter is basically it.

I just got a lightly used phantom 4 pro (obsidian edition) on eBay and I absolutely love it. I have a mavic air also, which was my first drone and is also great but the phantom is now my go to drone for any drone work I do. It’s bigger, more stable, has longer flight time and honestly just looks more professional infront if my clients than the little guy.

I even commented on something three years old! I own the Phantom 3 Standard and the Phantom 4, the first model. Maybe someday I will get the 4 Pro. I think like you though, the Phantoms are the best! Impressive to look at and no doubt the workhorse of drones.
It's nice to see the P4P V2 making a comeback. My first real drone was P4. There will always be a special place in my heart for the Phantom series of drones from DJI.
I purchased my Phantom 4 Pro+ for Christmas 2019 and it's the best drone I now own. And that's saying a lot! I also own a Mavic 2 Pro & Zoom, my second and third best drone I own of the five in my fleet!

My P4 was my first drone in 2016 , great way to start and to this day I have owned all the DJI drones including Inspires , but while some of them I have sold , I’ve always hung onto my P4. It’s only now I’m selling it as I’ve replaced it with the P4 V2. Oh and I like the quiet props so each to their own 😊
I just repurchased a Phantom 4 Pro after losing my Mavic 2 Pro and feel right back at home. I never was as comfortable flying the Mavic. Even with the Phantom 4 Pro being an older drone, the video is superior (no pixel binning, higher clarity with apertures, no barrel distortion) and the controller has always been top notch!

Hi Ken, yesterday was my wedding anniversary(sorry, didn't mean to rub it in). Which reminds me, like the song says "stand by your drone". I stand by my Mavic 2 Pro. It may not be a Phantom 4 Pro V.2, but it serves me well and it is easy to carry around. Here's one for ya. A guy goes speed dating and he says to the girl: "Phantom 4 or Mavic 2 Pro?" Puzzled, the girl says: "What?" The guy then stands up and says "Next!"

I started with a Phantom (1) . And was lucky to get 6 mins air time. Then the Phantom 2, Phantom 3 pro, and now I primarily fly a Phantom 4 advanced (with a Mavic Air as a “tight corner” or family holiday drone) . And I couldn’t agree with you more.
By far the best and most reliable UAV on the market. And until you get to the X7, the best camera as well. But that is £10,000 worth 🤯😁

The Phantom series is hands down my favorite. I've owned 4 DJI drones (Currently own a P4P & M2P) and I gotta say, nothing handles quite like the Phantom series. Scary to think DJI might not put out another one considering the Phantom is in a weird space between the Mavic and Inspire but IF there's a P5 announcement, I'll be the first to preorder!
Your absolutely correct about that childhood Christmassy feeling you get. I'm waiting on a Mobius6 and the Zerogravity low profile frame to do a switchover like Nick Burns did. Love all your videos and look forward to them!

Phantom 4 Pro series is also in my opinion the best drone! I have seen drone flyers in taking pictures and videos in hopes of selling houses using the Phantom series drone. Combating weather conditions and heights upwards to 400' ft just show stables flights. I have two and the drone I gamble on is the Phantom 3! I'll send it in places difficult for most and I haven't lost it yet. I'll use the Phantom 4 for our vacation videos. Enjoy I need that case!

I have a Phantom 3 Standard that I got 2 years ago and it is exactly what I was looking for. I love flying it. Purchased 2 extra batteries for it from DJI. Also got a few accessories for it from Amazon. Great drone

The DJI Phantom 4 is the best drone ever made. In fact, I have three of them. (Don't tell my wife.) (Also have a Parrot Anafi for other situations.) My first P4P I've had over two years with heavy use and never crashed. I got a second hardly-used one with three batteries for $800 on Craigslist, but crashed from battery failure. While it was repaired by DJI for $230, I bought a third one for $700 with that GPC case and three high-capacity batteries only charged 2-3 times from a photographer who didn't want to do the part 107. (I haven't had occasion to use the case, because it is heavy compared to the foam one.) I have dozens of those regular propellers; and would like another set of the low-noise propellers.

I loved my Phantom 3 Pro, it was a great drone and is now a great decoration on my shelf. It just looks cool sitting up there because I custom painted it black, and it has the carbon fiber props. It will never fly again since the ecs went out and I don't plan to fix it since I have newer drones that easily fit in my camera bag so there are no issues with taking them with me everywhere I go. That's right, I can fit two of them in my camera bag so I always have a spare to ensure I always get my shots. I loved the Phantoms I just think the design is outdated even though the specs are not. The Mavic 2 Pro is the weapon of choice for me now but I will always have fond memories of the Phantoms.
Have to agree with you Ken, P4P just gets the job done. Considering mines taken some beating over the years, it's still a dependable piece of kit. The Inspires just too big to hump around and worry about damaging, never been into the Mavics either....
Great drone. I agree. the phantom is used more than my other drones. But I never had problems with props.
Phantom 4 Pro is just awesome. I love using it for making 3D maps and it slams the competition in the dust!

The Phantom 4 Pro is THE drone that allowed me to build the foundation I have for my business. It is simply the single most versatile and reliable (with the NLD FIrmware at least) drone that I have ever used? Matrice 210? Doesn't work half the time. Inspire 2 with Zenmuse X5S? Gorgeous camera, but can't map.
The P4P just does literally everything I could ever need. Without this drone I wouldn't be where I am today, and I'm thrilled that DJI brought back the V2 so that I don't have to get one used!

Well Kenny my man..The Xs and Os of the pantom series, as you illustrated, is that it was a very deliberate and focused effort over those years to "get it RIGHT" when it comes to a user friendly, high quality, reliable and durable flying camera..for ANY situation, that eventually zenithed into our beloved 4 series. It is quite literally an icon that brought that childhood wish to fly to all of us dreamers that just dont WANT to take our heads out of the clouds sometimes, and when you see that lil twinkle in a kids eyes when they come running up saying "Wowwww..Is that a Phantom?!?!"..That's right buddy, it sure is 👍.."MAN.. That's SOOO awesome!!"..well...yeah buddy, it sure IS 😊 We all know in this day and age there are many MANY outstanding drones out there in their own respect..undeniably. But nothing else looks like it wants to give you big ole hug when you hold it up without the props on,and nothing does anything close to cause emotions like that...not Evo, not Inspire, not skydio, and none of the Mavics! It's an icon that has endeared itself to people all over the world, and as good as all those other guys are Ken the only problem is...they're just not a Phantom 😉

I have the pre 2.0 version but no worries it does everything I ask AND even came home one time all by itself after I stupidly flew behind a tall building. (who knew that the owner of 5B at the Palms Condo had an Art Deco couch, lamp and end table combo) Obstacle avoidance is great thing!

yep... I started with the P3 4k...(2016) I had an Inspire 1 v2.0.. It flies super, but the features of the P4P-Obsidian are the best. (Actually my P4P Obsidian will match the nice blue of the GpC Case) LOL!!

My first drone was the P4Pv2 and it was killer but recently I traded it for the Mavic 2 Pro. I think the Mavic flies easier and the portability is what I was really looking for. You can't really go wrong if you get the Phantom but realize how big it is.

My start was with my home build DJI F550 Flamewheel and then the P3 Standard, P4 and now P4 pro and Mavic series.
Phantom 4 Pro is definitely my goto drone also because of the 1inch sensor and mechanical shutter. I should go back to the non-silent props and check out the performance differences. That is interesting and did not give it too much thought. Currently, the air temperature where I live is pretty cold and the higher density air mass make for great flying performance. The same goes for aircraft. Take-off performance is much better when cold vs when it's hot.
Try the original props in the cold. I think you'll like them better.

I'm impressed with my new mavic 2 zoom, especially the zoom feature and the lower noise. But every time I fly my "old" Phantom 4 Pro there is an intimate connection and a bond .....almost as close as my first love..

If I didn't already have one, you would have convinced me to get one and maybe you've just convinced me to get a second one for back-up. If I win the case I will definitely do just that.

I started with the mavic and it has very quickly become my go-to drone (I suppose you never forget your first love, on the other one....!).
But; the thing is, if your camera is still producing the goods, then there's no need to replace it!

I've had a Phantom 3 Advanced for several years and now that I've got my 107, I decided to step it up. Can't afford to keep them both, so I got rid of the Phantom 3 and took delivery of my brand new shiny Phantom 4 Pro V2.0 yesterday. Unfortunately, due to funding shortages, I had to opt for extra batteries instead of the Go Professional case. Lo and behold, I see this giveaway this morning! Ken, you must have ESP... Yup. I'm glad that the Phantom 4 Pro v2.0 finally came back. Choosing a Mavic 2 Pro over the P4P was my huge mistake. I lost it due to disconnection and flyaway last July night. However, I still have my P3S, P3A and P4 drones. All of them are Phantom that I currently have. I was thinking about getting a new Phantom 4 Pro V2 if a brand new Mavic 3 Pro isn't what I expect until I just saw your video. I better off get a P4P soon, than regretting later again. Why I like the P4P better, it is because of C4K 60fps that the M2P doesn't have. I agreed what you have said about the Phantom 4 Pro as a king in the sky. Thank you for this video.
I’ve flown many hours on both the Mavic and Phantom lines, and I like the Phantom better, too. The only real advantage I’ve seen of the Mavic is portability. But if I can reasonably use the Phantom, I almost always will grab it first.
I agree In my collection of M2Pro Zoom and MPro2, MMini, EVO, AIR, Fimi X8 my P4PV2 stands above all. Distance and air time. camera case closed!!

I can not be more in agree with you. For me, the Phantom 4 Pro is the king drone in terms of reliability, distance, and specially his camera quality due his mechanical shutter.
As Agronomist, I make photogrammetry and topography work using drones since two and a half years ago and I think it is an invaluable tool in my work.
That is why I believe that "The DJI Phantom 4 is the best drone ever. Case closed" and I also believe that this beautiful and resistant box for my Phantom 4 pro would be perfect for the field work I do.
