🥁Drummer Yoyoka’s BIOGRAPHY🥁
Born in October 2009, YOYOKA started playing drums at the age of two, played live at four, and formed her family band "Kaneaiyoyoka" at five. When she was six years old, she released her first CD while in kindergarten.
In addition to drums, YOYOKA sings, plays the piano, and is a songwriter. In 2018, at the age of eight, she became the youngest weekly champion in the under-18 category of the international female drummer contest "Hit Like A Girl". Her application video, a cover of Led Zeppelin's "Good Times Bad Times" was featured on NBC, NPR, in Rolling Stone Magazine and in Billboard and then spread all over the world. Her drumming prowess has been praised by music legends such as Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin), Ian Paice( Deep Purple), Roger Taylor(Queen), Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers), Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters), Sheryl Crow, Gene Simmons and Eric Singer (KISS), Kim Gordon (Sonic Youth), Hayley Williams (Paramore), Sass Jordan, Tony Royster Jr., Brad Wilk (Rage Against the Machine), Derrick McKenzie (Jamiroquai) and many more.
In 2018, at the age of eight, YOYOKA appeared in Japan's famous rock festival "RISING SUN ROCK FESTIVAL in EZO" as the youngest performer ever. The following year, she made a surprise appearance Fall Out Boy’s stage at Summer Sonic Tokyo 2019 in front of an 20,000 audience. Later that year, she was invited to Cyndi Lauper’s show at Tokyo Orchard Hall as the guest drummer for two songs on the last day of her Japan tour.
YOYOKA is endorsed by world-class brands such as Nike, Moncler, and UNIQLO. In 2018, she shot a Nike campaign in Thailand, followed by a Moncler campaign shoot in New York in 2019. She became the face of Moncler alongside actor Will Smith. Both campaigns were launched worldwide and were very well-received.
Already at the age of eight, YOYOKA became the youngest drummer ever to sign an endorsement contracts with drum makers Pearl and VIC FIRTH. Since then, she has also signed with Zildjian, CYMPAD and DW.
YOYOKA’s attention from the world does not stop. In January and May 2018, YOYOKA was invited to LA twice to make an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, one of the most popular show in the United States, where she was praised by Dave Grohl from the Foo Fighters who made a shoutout to her on the show. She also impressed the audience with a successful show at the legendary live house "Whisky A Go Go".
In April 2019, YOYOKA was selected as Newsweek's "100 Japanese People Respected by the World" and "World's TOP500 drummers” by Drummer World, both the youngest in history.
In 2020, Pearl showcased her talent at the 2020 NAMM show in Anaheim, the world’s largest musical instruments trade show. She was the youngest female and only Japanese drummer ever to appear.
The impact of YOYOKA continues to spread worldwide. Her favorite drummers are John Henry Bonham, Chris Coleman, Nate Smith, Chad Smith and Dave Grohl. Her dream is to travel and play sessions with people all over the world.

Best Deep Purple cover that I've ever heard! The guitarist nailed Blackmore's tone and his performance was spectacular as was all the musicians. A Happy Birthday indeed. Kudos to all.

He can't match Blackmore's solos tho....just isn't the same. There are lots of folks who can practice a song and COVER it.....but WRITING it is where the talent lies. Good band though 👍

I had to wait because of the coronavirus, but the dream that many yoyoka fans around the world had been eager for has finally come true. Other members are also world class performances. No matter how many times I listen to it, I can't help but get hot with joy!

I thought this was one of Yoyoka's drum covers when I clicked it. Don't get me wrong I really enjoy those drum covers but man, this was something else. Everyone in that studio are really talented musicians, thank you all for playing one of my all time favourites with such passion. Also I know I'm a little bit late but Happy Birthday to Yoyoka.

The male singer was really killing the David Coverdale part. The female still couldn't quite get up to the range of the Glenn Hughes part, though, but I'll let that pass. ;-) That's as much talent as I've ever see Yoyoka surround herself with.

Wow, they have surprised me with the interpretation of Burn, the way they play it on each of the instruments is incredible and even more surprised is the child who plays the Yoyoka drums, what a barbarian he plays masterfully, Satsuma's tremendous guitar made me vibrate emotion, Kouichi's bass is fantastic, Takanobu's masterful keyboard, that magnificent 70's sound, NoB's main voice is the best and what can we say about Wakasa's choruses, fantastic, it's an interpretation of the best of this song by Deep Purple Burn.. Congratulations from Mexico.... each of you are the best that you play well!

洋楽が大好きで、よくカバーされてました。

Yoyoka had her game face on. She knows the importance of this and who she was playing with. These are seasoned musicians and she just fits right in. If you didn’t know that Yoyoka was the drummer and the camera don’t pan to her, you would hear/think it was a session drummer. Just a tight and solid band. Everyone was great. This (drum) version sounded different than the first version she did but still fantastic. I guess the next thing is for her to tour with this group and see them/her live. Recording in a studio is _expensive_ and therefore pretty serious.
No one wants to be 'that guy' who messes up and makes everyone start over again redoing tracks.
@@Mamo878 true. I wonder if Pearl or the other sponsors helped with that? That’s why i said it was really generous of the family to do this and that includes the other group members to support (‘donate’ their time) Yoyoka with her bday celebration. It’s quite an elaborate production for just a ‘get together’ and jamming in their practice room won’t fit them or not have the proper equipment. Great for us either way. 🙂👍🏼

Well, at this point with Yoyoka I think serious musicians know that she is not just popular but as good (or better) as anyone as a rock drummer. Even if she is just 12.
If you're a highly talented musician you want to play with other musicians who are like that too. It's not just fun but also rewarding. And that works for us fans as well when we see and hear the results!

Being a jaded, old hack bassist, I'm not usually blown away by many bands. This was BRILLIANT. Yoyoka, as ever, was beat perfect, and the guitarist even nailed RB's tone. My favourite video on RUclips (I'm just about to watch Mistreated, so that may change, LOL). Keep playing and enjoying Yoyoka, you give us hope for the future of live music.
