Great video man this is great content!
Freddy!!
Thank you for the tips! I will definitely be taking these in consideration!
Love the RB!
Good breakdown of all your gear you use! I’m already missing storms so I was thinking about making a video similar this fall/winter during the off season
Awesome video! Thanks for sharing!! Currently a violent tornado is tearing thru Nebraska
Great content
Yeah that Mamiya RB67 looks really nice. I've been thinking about trying to find one too. I currently use a Yashica D in 6x6 format, another good camera. But 6x7 is much better for landscapes.
Your channel popped up on RUclips randomly for me. I'm glad it did! Your content looks interesting. I noticed a Wisconsin shirt. I'm a fellow cheesehead up in Portage. Where about are you based?
I use the Mamiya RB67. Real reliable if you familiar with it. From what i see, i suggest getting the hand grip and the Prism finder. It help you focus and work more especially on the fly like you. The current set up for the mamiya is good enough bit imo, those accessories helps you more
I picked up a the prism finder a few months after recording this video. Makes it a lot easier to frame up my shots!
@@charliebourdo The next thing you need is probably the L grip if you're lucky. Some of these prices really mad enough question our hobby lol. You also take a look into the Pistol grip. Anyhow have fun shooting!
How old do you think I should be before I start Storm chasing?
14 if you’re educated about weather and so is your driver.
17 or 18 if you’re driving in your own.
Those are just minimums though.
Do you have a special car camera mount? Or is it just a tripod sitting in the front? That is something I am doing.
What tripod do u use and how do you set it up
I would love to be a storm chaser
Okay so do it. It’s how we all started. Research how to read radar and how to chase for a couple years before doing it. Learn about the different parts of a storm and what parts to avoid and what menuevers to avoid when intercepting a storm.
@@WhiteBoyEst1994 I’m not 16, can’t drive. I know radar and stuff I can’t drive though
@@Maybetr1stan so research and research. Do not chase storms under the age of 18. Always watch storm chaser safety videos, and videos on reading radar. Always study up
@@WhiteBoyEst1994 safety nerd
@@Maybetr1stan yeah I like living. You should too. Nobody will ever let you on their team with that attitude 💁🏻♂️
I am looking for a main video camera for storm chasing next year. Do you have any suggestions?
I like the Sony FDR AX700 that I use. It’s a bit pricey, but there’s an older versions called the AX100 which is less expensive. There’s tons of other older video cameras like the canon vixia line that are fantastic. Another good option for a video camera, that can also do stills, could be a Sony mirrorless camera, a canon mirrorless/DSLR or a Nikon mirrorless/DSLR.
@@charliebourdo Thank you very much!
How do you mount your camcorder to your front seat with the tripod?!
I cram one of the legs between the seat and center console
Ok thanks. Just figuring out what my chase setup is going to be for next year
Can storm chasing be a part-time job?
Some chasers make money through video licensing or working with news stations
Ive got a rolleicord for medium format photography, buy my shutter release button broke, so i cant even use it....
How do you keep your tripod in the front seat from falling when driving.
I cram one of the legs between the seat and center console the best I can
Sometimes it wobbles a bit but its never fallen over on me
@@charliebourdo thanks
If you had to pick one, which app would be better? Radaromega or radarscope?
I personally like radarscope because it runs a bit smoother and it runs better on weaker connections
@@charliebourdo Thanks dude!
