Thank-you for this. I was going to add bleached streaks throughout my hair, then henna and wondered if it was safe to do. This re-assured me. Your hair looks amazing and it's what I'm going for....Especially once I reach that length again.
Stunning result 👌 Your vid was so helpful and well explained without the incessant chatter that so many other you tubers use! 😉 I’ve been looking for exactly this process for a long time and I hit the jackpot here! Thank you so much 😊
So glad you found it helpful! I was worried because it's quite long, but in order to show this whole process that was about as short as I could make it! Thanks for your comment!
The results are STUNNING! Both the colour and cut are amazing. It would be good to have some more details about the bleach you used. I guess it needs to be fairly strong to be able to lift the henna, but too strong and it will go orange lol. Maybe a 20 volume developer? Thanks for a really great video
Jenny King yeah it could really have even been stronger than what I used to get lighter results. I just wanted natural looking brighter red, like when you’re out in the sun a lot and your ends get lighter ☀️ it’s so customizable which is why I didn’t specify as much, but I might add more details in the video description or maybe on the blog...
Wow it's sooo beautiful! Question: my hair is somewhat dark brown, & I have used henna about 3 times, but I don't get the beautiful color you get. Can I spray hydrogen peroxide to lighten my hair then dye it with henna after? Love your hair!!!
@@angelinacortes1557 leave it overnight mix it with hot boiled water add two eggs one table spoon of olive oil leave it over night and then when you apply it leave it for like 4 to 6 hrs

Please keep making henna videos! Love Em. I haven't transitioned yet... letting my hair grow a little as I lost a lot of hair with my last salon visit... but I'm thinking of making a permanent jump to henna...
Wow, I love it! Going to try henna for the first time, so of course doing my research first. Came across your video. Love, love, love the results you got. Love your personality too.
Hi Tori, thank you for the great video. Your hair looks absolutely gorgeous, the cut, the colour, the bright red highlights are all to die for. I used to dye my hair with Henna in my 20s, until a friend told me Henna would make my hair go grey prematurely. So I stopped and let my hair go au naturel. Then in my mid 40s, my hair started to go grey and I used chemical dyes to colour my hair which I hate very much. I have about 30% grey and I'll be 50 in a month, but I"m not ready to go grey all the way. After watching your video, I think I will try henna again and add the highlights but I'm not sure what kind of bleach to use. Would you kindly recommend a safe brand. Thank you in advance.
Do you have any grey at all? There are a few strands in the front of your hair that seem grey... curious if they turn out that same bright orange that your Mom's roots went, before the henna indigo mix was applied. I LOVE your resulting color! I was red (but lighter than yours) and due to illness my color drastically changed. Trying for years to get back to my closest natural color!!!
I honestly love what you did to your hair ! So vibrant and love how the layers came out ! Def going to subscribe to you 💙. What bleaching mix did you use b
I nature black hair but I 40% gray hair on the root around 4 inch long. Can I do the same color you do except lightening. Do you think my hair will cover root gray with your color. I love your hair 🥰
I really enjoy your personality! This video was great -I've used the bleach /henna combo for years and I love the results!! I can't wait for my currently too short hair to grow back so I can try this cut, I love doing my own. P.S I'm a lazy bones as well regarding roots, etc... Do you still use Light Mountain in the color Red?
Question, you did intigo before how did you remove it to get this red color? Isn’t intigo stuck in the hair forever help!! Mine is green from 2 years ago I want your color
Try to use coconut oil and leave it overnight it makes your hair healthier plus it could remove the hair color it actually worked with me so you could try it. It doesn't work 100 percent at the first time but it helps alot and I tried it.
If you wanted to do the Henna how would you cover your grays, when they start to show. If I just did the Henna it would be lighter at the top. Could I just dye the top with regular hair dye?
I've done this (not for greys though) and it worked just fine. Use a box dye or other regular dye for the roots as they come in, then henna over it immediately (after the dye is washed out, hair dried etc). You'll want to skip the conditioner that comes in the dye kit until the first wash a few days after the henna (if you use it at all) so that the henna can stick to the clean naked hair shaft. After rinsing out the henna use a more traditional deep conditioner. I've never touched up the lengths as they fade, though. If you normally have an issue with the lengths fading, especially with greys, I'm not sure how it would work to refresh the box dye over henna. I don't see why it would be a problem, I just have no experience with that. You'd need to make sure any henna you use is 100% body art quality henna (or cassia, amla or indigo, if that's part of the mix) with no added metallic salts or dyes, otherwise the box dye will react DISASTROUSLY with the henna.
Hi Tori! Thank you for this video! I have a question- when you did this highlighting process was this over hair that already had henna on it? I've used henna on my hair once and I love it, but I would like to add a few high lights. It's been about 6 weeks since I applied henna for the first time and I've tried doing strand testing twice with bleach and there is no change whatsoever in my hair. Do you have any advice? I use the same brand of henna as you. Thanks! Mary
Yes I did it over already henna treated hair. Mine had gone a bit longer before the highlighting so I think the coating the henna leaves had really warn off. You could use a slightly stronger form of lightener and see with another strand test? Let me know if you try it again!
Henna should be applied to washed wet/damp hair. No conditioner prior. And no shampoo after the henna is washed out or to wash the henna out. You can co-wash with a conditioner as I do
Thanks for this video. I'm going to try to use the bright red on my medium/dark brown hair now that I know it's not only red and has orange in it. I do want a copper tone hue to it.
HumblePie hi how did your hair color come out I have medium dark brown hair I use the red but it’s not like hers it’s like my hair just shows if light hits it
@@TheWant2beperfect I didn't use the same color as her because I figured it wouldn't show up after looking at the box online. I used the Spicy Cinnamon color since it said it would be a slight change, but it only showed up on the lightest parts of my hair and it gives a natural red look too. I've been using Sun In lightening spray to lighten my hair gradually and then I'll use a mixture of the Spicy Cinnamon and Red once it's lighten enough. Sorry for the long reply.
I purchased sun in as well hope it helps to lighten it up ..then next time I’ll do the red with lemon juice instead of vinegar .. I left mine on my head 8 hrs lol
@@TheWant2beperfect Yeah the Sun In will definitely work, just slowly. I would use bleach to lighten my hair, but I don't want to damage it. I'll honestly probably leave mine in that long the next time around lol.

Doesn't make sense to stay vague, or leave out 'natural product info- may be missing something..? That is the hesitation for those wishing to use henna, but take the jump again.. yet seek a good result with a product far less harsh than typical chemicals.
I always bleach with hydrogen peroxide and baking soda. It's less harmful for the body but does require healthy hair. For me it's a win win bc my hair is 3b/c and I have way too much hair on my head. I think I'll have to employ the husband, I have a pixie and doing highlights is a touch hard on short hair. Lmao
