Republican vice-presidential nominee Ohio Senator JD Vance has doubled down on his sexist remarks that Democrats are led by “childless cat ladies,” claiming the party is anti-family. He made the original comment on Tucker Carlson’s Fox News show in 2021. He has also previously suggested parents should be given more votes than childless people. “I just find the entire line of attack to be ridiculous and also unpopular,” says New York Times opinion writer Jessica Grose, who notes that Republicans generally also oppose paid leave, universal child care and other policies that make it easier to have families. “There’s still this idea that if you are a woman, unless you bear children, you are somehow less than.”

Vance has supported a nationwide abortion ban and even criticized exceptions for rape and incest. He actually said, “Two wrongs don’t make a right.”
He has called Social Security and Medicare “the biggest roadblocks to real fiscal sanity.”
He said women should stay in violent marriages.
He admits he wouldn’t have certified the election results immediately on January 6 if he’d been vice president, and even said that he’s “skeptical” that Pence was in danger.
It really comes down to this question. If you and your party IS REALLY pro family then why don't they support:
1. Paid Family Leave
2. The Violence Against Women Act
3. IVF
4. Upholding Child Labor Laws
5. Funding School Meals for Poor Children
6. Childcare Subsidies

How can you be this dense? You had a child. So you are not childless in the context he is speaking about. Frankly, I feel like it speaks volumes about the mentality of the women in this country that they do not seem to understand the context and issue Vance is talking about. He is pointing out the sad reality that our society has become anti-children. Women care more about having a career than being a mother and see the entire idea of motherhood as something backwards or bad. In reality, motherhood is vital and it is essential for human survival. Humanity as a species cannot exist without mothers. So the most noble state in life is disparaged and looked down upon by those who have followed such vacuous lives and those are the cat ladies he is referring to.

Those policies are actually not necessarily pro-family. That is what people do not get. If you think that’s not the case, look at countries that have adopted the policies you speak of and their birth rates. They are just as low and in some cases, much worse. The most commonly stated reason for people in the US not having kids is financial. It's very expensive to raise children.
And how about forcing kids to homeschool for 2 years during the pandemic? Millions of women had to quit their jobs to home school kids. That was squarely a Democrat anti-family policy.

It's not even hard to find the studies. A simple web search just gave me no less than 4 peer reviewed studies backing the comment they were much more unhappy and regretful. There were a handful of polls by "happiness experts" that showed opposite results but with no empirical evidence nor peer review.
