Good review Mark, especially for covering all the dimensions 👏. I’ve had mine for nearly 2 years now, watched a lot of RUclips reviews about it, but nobody ever detailed the dimensions which are important for a small workshop. I’m very happy with it, (apart from the noise), the fence is rock solid and I’ve fitted it in a small cabinet with 2 drawers and a foldable outfeed table 👍. I’ve also changed the blade to a FTG blade to get clean rebates. The only other modification I’m going to do is fit a soft start module that I got for Xmas. Take care, Bill.
A good point about it being quite loud which I didn’t cover. It’s something I can live with due to its other qualities. I do move it from workshop to site most jobs. Like your upgrades. I also plan to purchase a better blade with more teeth to get cleaner cuts . Stay well 😃
Thanks Mark I've had mine for around three years now it's great it's opened up new ways of doing things and easier more accurate work. A bit noisy but nearly every table saw is loud.
I've had one of theses saws for a year now in my basement workshop and it really is a very decent saw! Combined with a good miter gauge set up and a well adjusted saw and you can do very good and accurate work. It's loud but all direct drive saws are. BTW it will accept the 2 outside blades of a dado set
Thanks Mark! Great review of the Dewalt table saw, I just ordered one for my small shop. Upgrading from a cheaper old table saw so looking forward to using it for several projects.
Excellent review Mark. I have the DWE7491RS job site saw. It is the slightly larger Dewalt saw. It uses 10 inch blades and has a wider cut rip cut of 32.5 inches. It is my permanent shop saw, I don't take it anywhere. It is an ideal size for my small workshop. I also have mine on a portable cart and use my workbench as an outfeed table. It does have a great fence and makes perfect cuts for me. Thanks for posting, cheers
Hi David hope your well. Great saw the 7491 , I would easily choose it if I had more space. Maybe if I get a bigger workshop then I could have one permanently in it 😜 Mark
Great review, like that you went through the dimensions for storage, I don’t have a massive amount of storage so that’s important to me and lots of reviews ignore this
Hi Mark, great video. I was thinking of getting one but now i’m convinced. My current table saw (Einhell) is truly awful, I could get a better squarer cut with my own teeth. The fence is secured at one side and doesn’t lock properly, buy cheap buy twice! Its also always in the way, at least with this I can store it better. This will be perfect for my garage 👍🏻
Always more kit to buy, I’m looking at the mitre saw and stand for site work. I haven’t really regretted anything I’ve bought so far, all have saved me time and regularly use on jobs.
exactly the same, considering this saw against the Bosch GTS 10 but the Bosch mitre fence isn't a standard size and the normal fence isn't as good. Hmmmmm?
Hello friend, do you know if there is any difference between the model "DWE7485" and the "DWE7485WS"? It is just a WS but I don't know what it means... maybe it could be "With Stand", that is, it includes the platform?
Good review Sir ✌️ Rack and opinion, Quality fence, 2 slots for a sled, looks like a 3 yr warranty if registered on De Walt & just seen it for sale on a UK website caller workinger for 390 pounds delivered.....now I'm tempted.
Nice review. Couple of questions. Have you used it for any trench cuts or lap joint, i.e. part way through cuts? I believe it can do those? Secondly, what's the mitre fence like as most that come supplied are very loose fitting. If it is, what's the guide width, 19mm or something else? Cheers
I just got mine today I am so glad the Dewalt DCV584L fits the large vacuum port. A bit scared of it at mo I have a MICROJIG GR-100GRR-Ripper coming later today. Managed to get one with a 1.5mAh battery free with it
@@KAPWoodworkandbuilding I agree I managed to damage the fence on a mitre saw years ago when cutting an angle didnt slide the fence to compensate for the angle. Being cautious is only a good thing
Hi Mark, nice review and you pretty much had me at ‘fence’…. I’m having trouble finding other information and hope you can help? I THINK I saw somewhere that it’s a hard rather than soft start? Also, is it electronically braked? Not sure either would be deal breakers set against the positive fence situation, but would still like to know. New subscriber BTW 👍. Cheers, Martin
Hi Martin firstly thank you for subscribing, Yes it is a hard start which is ok for me and it’s electronically braked. It stops quite quickly which obviously is a good safety feature. It’s not the quietest of machines but table saws are never really going to be. What I love the most is its portability, I regularly move it from workshop to van to site. Hope this helps. Mark
@@KAPWoodworkandbuilding Many thanks for your timely response Mark and this helps a lot as I’d rather have a braked stop and upgrade my ear defenders, if necessary, rather than have the faff and annoyance of a wonky fence.🙂 Thanks again, Martin.
Hi Mark, I’ve got one being delivered tomorrow. My only worry is replacement blade availability with it being 210mm. Have you had any issues getting new blades?
Hi James Brilliant I’m sure it will enhance the work you do especially as it’s very portable. I haven’t had to change the blade yet but all reputable dealers will stock them of various teeth. Toolstation, Screwfix, and I guess many online. Hope you get on with it. Mark
I see this saw for £429 at time of righting here in UK. One thing has always put me off with some of the saws at lower to mid-price range is the accuracy of the fence. It wont get that much use for me I just want to have good straight cuts, this one seems to tick all the boxes. I dont have many Dewalt tools, just a shop vac and a car polisher. Most of my tools are Worx and Makita If I do go for this I think I will need an adaptor for the vac DCV584L. Mark you dont by chance have a sister called Anne do you?
Hi Chris as your comment says a table saw is only as good as it’s fence. I’ve had mine for a while now and it’s not let me down. Also it’s portable enough to go out if you need it. A great asset to any woodworker. I don’t have a sister called Anne. 😃
Thanks I only assked because she has same accent as you and look a little like you sorry no offence given. I saw a video of this saw where someone has issues with increase decrease of the blade and the cog broke, they found a solution when replaced using a dry lubricant ruclips.net/video/3tqpoSvwlSE/видео.html@@KAPWoodworkandbuilding
Good review. Looking to purchase a decent table saw as you say with a accurate, sturdy fence. For sure its not cheap, however its a superbly built machine.
As much as I love my dewalt tools I could never be able to afford the dewalt table saw, especially now I'm semi retired. Maybe if I win the lottery ehl! 👍
Hi Jim , maybe you will win the lottery 😜 They are a big ticket purchase and I would never advise buying if we can’t afford it. Thanks for your comment. Mark
Sorry but this saw is a dud. The riving knife is 2.2mm but 90% of Dewalt blades are 1.8mm thick!! I bought mine second hand and can’t use it unless I risk it without the knife. Why don’t reviewers mention this?

As mitre fences go it’s pretty good. You can do tench cuts. I do all kinds on this machine. I’m very happy with it.

Great review mark. Recently sold my old 110 v version to put towards the flex volt version (battery) as all my tools our battery now 👌👍👋
Most of my tools are battery but I do have some corded. I recently purchased a Dewalt track saw which is corded. You will see it soon. 😃

11:41. Frame catches blade and riving knife. Might want to compare.
