Skies of Arcadia - Part 10 - Living La Vida De Loco
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 16 май 2024
- Skies of Arcadia continues, as we break into the Valuan mine, tracking down some very useful new allies, but it's possible that we may have walked right into a trap, and two vengeful Admirals will do anything to stop me escaping...
Skies of Arcadia is tragically completely unavailable to purchase on any currently existing store, and was also never released on PC. If you want to play it yourself, your options are the GameCube and Dreamcast versions, which were the only releases. Sorry.

Im a 42 yr old man that is excited to see whats next on a 20 yr old game i never played, and jon just makes it better
It's been a while since I've been this invested in a Jon series.
@jamesclarkson156 for real bud. Its nice when someone loves what they r playing vs im doing this for the views
I’m 15 years younger than you, but apart from that your comment aplies to me as Well.
@neutralbychoice3584 thanks fpr reminding me im getting old 🫠
be sure to also watch the jelloapocalypse playthru
DeLoco sees you enter the mines, and traps you into following a predetermined path. And yet you manage to catch some guards by surprise. Either the guards are completely incompetent, or DeLoco didn't see fit to inform the rank and file what was happening.
He likes to troll them
I love how Jon doesn’t do any accents for the characters, but De Loco gets the special treatment 😂
De Loco has a smiley face on his glass dome, implying that its purpose is to confuse predators
I love how Jon puts on an even MORE posh accent for Alfonso
Jon isn't posh. 😄
@@RichardM-kv4uu He's British, most Brits sound overly fancy to us Americans.
@@PegasusMerc Trust me, I wouldn't sound posh to you! 😄
Jon I think you’re exactly right that Valua is a colonial Spain equivalent - De Loco, Belleza, Alfonso, Galcian, all sound totally fitting with an España accent.
I’m absolutely loving johns enthusiastic line reading in this series, the joy is contagious
De Loco is certainly a unique character.
29:00 I wonder if "Stay Awhile, Stay forever" was a nod to old 8bit era game Epyx: Impossible Mission. It also had maze, and the boss said "Another visitor. Stay awhile. Stay forever " Having a clear speech was rarity on Commodore 64 games.
Wild that this game is 22 years old and still one of my favourite RPGs.
I love how the world building is quite simple and based on some real world stereotypes, but it's really appealing somehow!
I’m surprised De Loco doesn’t have a chipped tooth from all of the scenery he’s chewing in this episode.
I'm enjoying this series immensely. The joy in Jon's voice is palpable.
Today has been the worst day of my year, but it's nice to have a fun, cozy video to take the edge off.
Thank you Jon.
I hope you are okay, friend. hang in there.
I'm sorry today has been rough. I hope things get better soon.
@@squidwords Thank you. The best I can do is just to keep going.
@@the_Book_778 Thank you.
Keep going. Survive to spite the universe. I'm right there with you, buddy.
My favourite part of the week--you posting this series. I've gotten ahead a bit in my own playthrough :D
The "stay a while, stay forever" line is from a Commodore 64 game - ironically that was voiced, whereas in this much more modern game it was just text!
All supervillains need a good monologue room.
C'mon! You GOTTA always have a cloak swish with your hair flip!
Another temple guarding a moon crystal that has statue heads on the outside of it? Probably means nothing at all.
Oh man, that priest certainly didn't age too well lmao
Amazing how it took until the late 2010s for "Maybe sexual harassment isn't very humorous" to become a mainstream idea.
@@np8139especially for priests, and especially especially for priest around children
At least the priest character's behavior is clearly framed as shitty.
Oh, just wait for some other characters to appear lmao.
Easily a top 5 MATN series. Those that aren't watching are missing out
"Boxes are sexy" - Jon MATN, 2024
Why do I feel one of the final bosses is going to be Antonio 4 or 5?
Triple McJibble. Now that's a keeper.
Drachma, you could say has a killer right hook now
Loving this series, its giving me so much nostalgia and made me start playing the game again as well
Jons happiness and enthusiasm is really infectious in this playthrough and i love it
That dungeon reminds me of the water temples in Legend of Zelda OOT and MM because of how convoluted it is. I always got lost in those water temples!
Honestly, missed chance to call him An-two-nio.
This whole game is very 90's cartoon-y
Jon being all careful with the Xs and Os, but I remember a time not a million years ago when he barged through the floor puzzles in the Nocturnal quest and healed off the damage with a health potion.
This series has so far been an absolute delight to watch - especially having never played this game myself.
(10:20) Jon... it's a surprise turn and you know you won't be attacked: why are you Defending instead of Focusing if you want to build a lot of Spirit?
(20:25) The "instant KO" spells like Eterni are terribly unreliable for the player party, but they work GREAT for enemies, so always use Delta Shield if you encounter enemies that can use it.
In that instance it wasn't needed and saved time, but I too felt a twinge of ire at the wasted opportunity to build up Spirit!
That is a FACT. Enemies get like 50% effectiveness on Eterni, but you're lucky to get 25% against regular enemies, and nothing against any enemy tough enough to make it worth trying.
Loving the enthusiasm, but no sense of surprise or stakes here. Jon has played this all before and is just walking through it.
Seeing Drachma get this killer drill hand, I can't help but wonder how much he was inspired by Barrett from Final Fantasy 7.
I've been looking forward to this all week, what a lovely pick-me-up! 😊
I mean, "loco" in Spanish roughly translates to "crazy" in English, so trying to explain De Loco sounds like an impossible task...
The frustration caused by this dungeon on the dreamcast is what caused me to stop playing. Excited to see where the game continues!
I used to see your vids in my feed all the time, I haven't seen one for months and I kinda rely in it
John! Why would you guard on an ambush round? Triple focus, and Spirit Charge for 26 spirit! Lol
Shouldn't Pyri be pronounced more like Pyro instead of pirry?
Thank you Jon.
De Loco kinda makes me think of a younger version of N Gin from Crash Bandicoot 🤔
Edit - out of curiosity, could you have gone straight to Rixis without doing anything with De Loco? Or is the Golden Man undiscoverable until Isapa mentions it?
is there anything stopping you from going straight to Rixis?
Nice
9:30 was that a fish or cham noise?
Dang, well spotted (or heard) haha, that's a cham noise though, the moonfish sounds closer to an old telephone ringing
I'm sorry to report this but it would seem you missed... A moon fish. Down bellow, where you found the De Loco drill, on the left of the platform if I remember correctly...
edit : oh scrap that, you went afterward my bad.
Is there a reason Jon is guarding rather than focusing in the ambush attacks? I guess it saves time on a guaranteed kill, but if the point is to gather spirit I'm confused. Or maybe it's just Jon being Jon and forgetting the things while he's talking about it.
Well, you gain spirit points even while guarding and means he takes less damage overall, saving on items overall. While focusing allows for faster SP gain it is arguably more dangerous. Or maybe we shouldn't worry about Jon using the "best" strategies when he's making it through just fine.
@@donovanfaust3227 Enemies can't attack you on ambush turns. Didn't sound like they were worried what Jon was doing was suboptimal, just sounded like they didn't know why he wasn't taking full advantage of a free turn. Guarding does nothing on a turn where you can't be hit.
I'm guessing Jon was just saving time because he knew one Rain of Swords would be more than enough to clear the field. Having everyone focus makes you watch the animation for it.
Spirit resets each battle and all he needs are the points he gets. There's no point going through the focus animation if you're not going to use the points.
😊
What are the odds of getting a Dragon Warrior playthrough?
But in Arcadian, Jehovah is spelled with an "X"!
could it be some form of epilepsy?
Wow. Isapa disgusts me.
And the sexual themes were really toned down in the English release. There's a much worse character later that the localization team had to heavily change the dialogue due to how mature it was in the original Japanese, and it's still pretty creepy in English!
blink and you'll miss aika angry blushing at isapa guessing her measurements...lol
Day 104 of requesting _Age of Mythology_ (A full playthrough if possible)
It might be a little late to ask this, but are there life jacket equivalents in this setting? Do they have safety harnesses? How many people are falling off these ships in the middle of epic battles of destiny and vengeance over the new world?
Good questions, the answer is probably zero though. With the ships being powered with moonstones for flight, you don't need crew members on deck rowing, manning the sails, dropping anchor etc, everything can be done inside the ship. As for falling off, there's no body of water beneath, just a massive void which we all seen Alfonso's vice captain forced into in the first episode.
Entry 12 in let’s have Jon play the entirety of the command and conquer remaster
Star Control date 0091!!
I think?
I don't know. I'm very tired and almost typed out "Stardew Date...."
... which... hmmm...
No.
I mean yes.
But no. I need to focus on the task at hand. I can't manage two humble Star[...] requests.
So, today I humbly request that Jon play Star Control 2, and now more than ever hope it happens sooner rather than later because I also really have a hankering to just kick back and watch Jon play Stardew.
Anyways. It remains his favorite game of all time, regardless of whether or not he knows it.
TYVM and GB
Entry 30 of requesting Jon play Okami HD
12th request in asking Jon to do a minimum of a 2 hour review of the Star Wars holiday special
Day 122/1230 of requesting Jon play a game nobody will remember, like Majesty: A Fantasy Kingdom Sim.
