I usually do not comment but upon seeing the genuine enjoyment on you face, I wanted to offer you some information. Slydini was my teacher for eight years. This routine involves many principles, above all, belief. For example, as the right hand descends, (after the toss) the right wrist rotates inwardly, the reason for this is this, it presents the back of the magician’s right hand (when it comes back into view) and therefore the spectator cannot see Slydini’s hand is actually empty, move over the position of the right hand (thumb, forefinger and middle finger) maintain the posture of a hand holding a ball. In fact; a lesson of two hours was confined to placing an imaginary ball in my hand, over and over until I believed I was putting a ball in my hand! In every lesson, he would always say “you must believe what you are doing, if you believe it they will believe”. To perform this routine in a manner similar to Slydini requires years of study and they will not be wasted years. This routine was written up very well in the Magic of Slydini by Karl Fulves (published by Tannen’s) and if you like you can find my write up, from a student’s point of view, in my book, The Master of Misdirection, available at lybyary.com.
In any case I appreciated your sincere enjoyment of my teachers magic.
    All the best D

FYI: Bill Wisch is the only official apprentice and protege to Tony Slydini. Bill is the only student ever authorized by Slydini, in writing, to lecture and teach his magic. In 1973, Bill began studying with Slydini in New York City. See video on Bill's youtube channel or on his website at: www.billwisch.com/biography
In 1976, Slydini wrote a personal authorization letter to all magic societies and associations in North America, sponsoring Bill to represent him and take his place introducing, demonstrating and marketing his long awaited, two-volume, book set, "THE BEST OF SLYDINI AND MORE", written by Karl Fulves. Bill officially took Slydini's place on tour in 74 cities in the United States and Canada from 1977 to 1979. Bill Wisch is the only student Slydini ever sponsored to lecture or teach Slydini's magic on his behalf. Check out Bill's website at www.billwisch.com

Get somebody to stand behind and catch what you throw. It means you can throw literally anything. I've done basketballs and plates. Also on my channel I have a nice twist to it that I open my stage show with. Hope you made your routine work bud.

I've been doing a variant on this with a card to play with hecklers for years, I did it one night and as I flicked the card out a draught caught it and it spun around behind me and around, I caught it in the corner of my eye and grabbed it. It turned a throwaway joke into the best trick of the night and everybody thought it was fantastic LOL

Tony slydini is the man....the og misdirection master. he reinvented misdirection in magic and so many magicians use his subtleties today without even realising.
btw, he was the first person to make the balls bigger towards to end.....in fact....he was the first person ever to perform this routine. he invented It, that's why it's called the "slydini balls over head" routine....😜

Since you're into card-handling, you could do a countdown routine with this in the spirit of "any number" and how Dani uses rapid-fire interaction and touch/eye contact to keep a person engaged/oriented. Have the volunteer name a number & suit, and pull the suit from an ordered deck. Fan, flourish, whatever. You could have them pick a number from a range you want to work with, then even have someone else pick a suit. Do some comical fumbly version of discarding the other suits and the same-suit cards lower or higher than that card, depending on how long you want to run the gag. It will keep everyone involved.
Then do the disappear on that card, but actually ditch a different card so the audience doesn't know you stole/retained the first selected card. That's partly what the big mess is for, to hide the identity of the first ditched card if it lands face-up. If you can get the card to land face-down, so much the better.
Now, have the volunteer try to find their card in what's left of the set again, maybe after a very clean/open face-down shuffle and flipping back, "Okay, you see your card, right?" You could do variations on "What do you mean it's not there?! Okay, try again, and this time pick one that's actually in the group..." rinse and repeat, actually tossing or vanishing the other cards with various methods the audience can see until you get down to the last card.
When you ask them for the last pick with only one to pick from, you can start it with, "Okay, we're gonna make it easy. Choose... a... card... please!" When you play through the motions and do the ditch, swap the last card with the original card after complaining, "This all started when you picked the xx of xx!"
Then, when you do the move, stick the originally chosen card on the subject (or reveal it somewhere everyone can see), something like Slidini's "hanky pocket move" and ask, of course, "So Is that your card?" This will both get both the volunteer and the audience, who have gotten so used to you making them part of the joke that they forget you might be fooling them too. The mess of cards you have scattered around the area will keep them guessing how you got the original card back in your hand from the floor, table, sofa, etc.
Time-loop misdirection with too many possible explanations to remember where it started. I can't do this kind of handling any more because of reasons/conditions, but you're welcome to work it up as a routine for yourself. Probably best with a cheap/disposable deck, since it might get stepped on a bit.
I used to do a similar effect in tarot-type consultations, but by other methods. Tarot cards are expensive, so I used elaborate divination layouts to work through enough material to get the reveal I had planned while conversing with the person and telling stories about the symbology... and no, I didn't take anyone's money for the reading. It was just a fun way to add some spice to what amounted to a sympathetic conversation.

He told his audience, because people were less cynical in those days. It was considered mean to laugh at a person who was being fooled, unless they were told it was okay. It wasn't about making the guy look like a jackass, it was about everyone being in on the joke. Today people sort of enjoy when a person is made to look like a twat. I prefer less cynicism.

Hey react to Jansenson (in the Magic Castle, so you can listen him talking in english) or to René Lavand (he did magic with only 1 hand, because he lost his right arm), he is the inventor of the trick "no se puede hacer más lento" (You can't do it more slowly, in english), and did more tricks, the magic is how smooth is with only 1 hand...Both magicians are from Argentina. Hope you read this comment and enjoy their magic. (Love your videos btw!!)

if you're performing in a circle or with an audience close try an get one of them to catch the pack. could literally look at the audience and say alright now keep your eye on this one, it might a little hard to catch while looking at the audence meaningfully. play with it a little, make sure they get it, then throw the pack to them so it doesn't make any fall noise. and it's clever, if the audience is in on it like that. also exaggerate the noise it makes when you shake it and make that a part of the misdirection perhaps?
