i TRIED, I HONESTLY TRIED, but i can NOT judge his acting based on this movie due to the fact the writing was so increadibly horrible, and it droned on and on, and NO imo the REAL joker was not mentally defunct or had that laughing problem, it came AFTER he fell into the vat the same as with harley, after she fell into the vat how her mental state massively changed but was still highly intelligent... joker is one of those as gordan said.. just wants to watch the world burn.. but back to the main topic he may be a great actor but i couldnt get through the lines he was made to say and had to act so stupidly i have NEVER seen ANY human being act the way he does... even people with a worse condition like turrets do not go walking around saying and doing the things he does... yes yes yes he is supposed to be psychotic, i get it but i am just referring to horrible lines, and the directors choice of how to act... and i would say the same about anyone made to play that part with that directing, and lines... put him in a good part, maybe it would be worth watching him... but he did do the best he could with what was given to him...
