There’s also a video called “The Making of A Little Piece of Heaven”, which shows most of the writing and recording process of the song, and truly lets you see the band member who passed away and how talented he was.

A bit of background information, Avenged Sevenfold were making a Halloween EP around 2007, ‘A Little Piece Of Heaven’ was one of the songs there.
Their label heard the song, and said “you guys are crazy if you don’t put this on the album”.
At first the guys didn’t want to do that, because doing that would scrap the rest of the Halloween EP, but eventually they did it.
It’s a fan favorite song if you haven’t noticed yet :)
Also Jimmy ‘The Rev’ Sullivan came up with this song, and the first instrument that started this song was the Piano which The Rev wrote with.
The lyrics tell a story, a sad love story, with a weird happy ending..
But above all, the musicianship that the guys display in this song is remarkable.

Not about a broken heart. Its about the fear he felt that their relationship was too perfect and stop any possibility of it changing.
The drummer wrote this song and the band just had fun with it.
I normally don't like to see people react to this song because it can give non-fans a bad impression if they take it too seriously. I'm happy you could appreciate the music without getting offended. It really is a masterpiece.

A song that is heartwarming in a confusing way
Imagine an adult version of 'The Nightmare Before Christmas' or 'The Corpse Bride - this would fit perfectly! The Rev was inspired by the works of Danny Elfman, one of his musical heroes.
Only just found your reaction to this and it was exactly the same as mine. Been a massive fan of this band for years but somehow never saw the video until a few months ago 😂 this was always one of my favourite songs as well so the video should've been pretty obvious but I was horrified lol! Keep enjoying the A7X journey 🖤

This song is really layered. Steve Bartek did the horn arrangements, which is why it sounds a lot like a Danny Elfman score from Tim Burton films. The two are masters of the avant-garde symphonic gothic styles and also had a band together called Oingo Boingo that the members of A7X really love. The woman who did vocals in the bridge is Julliette Commagere. The song is a great duet between M. Shadows and The Rev obviously, and astoundingly, this is one of the few Avenged songs without a guitar solo by Synyster Gates but the ultimate fan favorite. Syn and The Rev and the band's second bassist Justin had a band called Pinkly Smooth before Syn joined A7X, and they released an album called Unfortunate Snort that had music more like this. It was great to see some of that extra creativity on the band's self-titled, especially near the end of the album.

I'm glad they took the time to give it a music video even though it's the most unlikely promotional song possible. It paid off massively.

At one point each band member came to matt and said they didn't wanna record this anymore, even jimmy did and the whole thing was essentially his idea but matt said we have to record it if not for anything except I wanna listen to it.
She rejects his proposal as you saw, he kills her and preserves her to do whatever he pleases with her, but she comes back from the dead and kills him. He begs forgiveness hence "I will suffer so long to make it up to you" she forgives him, they get married and terrorise everyone else as dead souls together
Edit: just a fun story I saw them live in 2017 Sheffield UK and before playing this he said how about a love song? Crowd cheered, "how bout a love song equally about murder and necrophilia?" crowd cheers louder and he turns to the band like "hey, don't Bury me in Sheffield"

The song was mostly created by jimmy "the rev" crazy mind he just came up with him also the part of the "must have stabbed her 50 fucking times was sang by him as well as the back up vocals at the last chores

This song absolutely masterpiece by jimmy " the rev " sullivan, former Avenged Sevenfold drummer, who died in 2009, he create this song lyrics , and he also the composer of this song
For those needing a little backstory, they were working on a Horror/Halloween concept but scrapped it, this song was written by their drummer who was dying of cancer and figured "why not" and went all in on it.
