- More Than This
(The Roxy Music )
I could feel at the time
There was no way of knowing
Fallen leaves in the night
Who can say where they're blowing
As free as the wind
And hopefully learning
Why the sea on the tide
Has no way of turning
CHORUS
More than this - you know there's nothing
More than this - tell me one thing
More than this - ooh there is nothing
It was fun for a while
There was no way of knowing
Like a dream in the night
Who can say where we're going
No care in the world
Maybe I'm learning
Why the sea on the tide
Has no way of turning
Oh oh oh...
REPEAT CHORUS Развлечения
I am Blondie's biggest fan since Heart of Glass came out, and I'm just hearing this for the first time. I love it, and I love the original!!
And me x
I have never heard this up until this moment ...
I love Blondie and I love Roxy Music, too.
Best version is Bryan ferry same with jealous guy hands down
The best roxy avalon cover I've heard ( by a long way)
Please, listen to Prince singing it. It's powerfull.
This really showcases just how beautiful Debbie’s voice really is!!!
This is such a beautiful version of a classic song. Very fitting that Blondie should cover it, so well.
omg
my favorite bands from the late 70's early 80's Did not know that Blondie covered this song. Am very, very happy right now
There are so many great covers Blondie did. Wish they would make an album out of them! This is awesome
It's interesting how many people I've met over the decades who have never heard of Roxy Music.
And now, although it is hard to fathom, there are those, too, who have never heard of Blondie.
Gore, Roxy and Blondie both have superlative musicians and come from a period of time when success in the music business called for a lot of bloody hard work not a chance performance on a TV show.
We know the likes of these two but I bet we dont know some recent aspirers.
Sad for them to have missed out on both.
Seen her twice and I would see them all again.
Debbie Harry the reigning queen. Every modern female artist owes a big tip of the hat to this special lady.
They owe more to Kate Bush. The most creative woman of all time and any art.
@@Chapps1941 Debbie Harry has a much bigger reach than Kate Bush because her fame was much more substantial than Kate's at their peak. Kate is one of the most talented women in rock of course and for sure of the most unique but Debbie was more influential because of fashion, style, music and attitude. Many more female singers cite Debbie as an inspiration. With Kate you get more nitchy artists like Tory Amos citing her as an influence but Debbie's influence was much wider.
@stu wilks Kate is first woman to sing her own single composition to #1. The first woman to have a Top 5 Album in the 70s, 80, 90s, 00s, 10s and will have this decade too. No other woman has done this.
I don't think l said most popular or more widespread
Debby wás in a movie in 1980 that was bizarre and quirky, where she played a bored housewife living with her het up husband in Union City in 1953. Chris Stein helped produce this gem, but Debby could not include her song Union City Blues in it due to contractual restrictions. Debby puts in an understated and low key performance in this entry.
This is far, far better than I expected it to be.
Same here
What part about it makes it better?? Tell me!!?
What ??
They didnt say it was better than anything just better than expected
I love the original version by roxy music 🎶 but this version ain't too shabby👏😎👍🤘
No disrespect to Brian ferry ⛴ and roxy music!!😎👍
usually not a fan of covers but this one I like.... thank you Debbie
Amazing version
This version is from a session in the studio it was not recorded for a single or album release. It ended up as a download from the fan site nothing more..than this.
so beautifully understated this is a singer's songand she does it justicee
Never heard this version before Wow
What is going on??????
me too
Debby is beautiful and exquisite 🌷
No disrespect to roxy 🎶 music👍😎
As much as I love Blondie nothing compares to Roxy Music.
Anita Shaw Nothing!!
Anita Shaw I hear ya but this version grows on ya👍
Nothong else does
10 000 Maniacs is almost as good.
It's not an either or. Isn't life wonderful!
My favourite song by my favourite artist... There is nothing better than this!
I think its a very good cover..and there aint nothin wrong with that I love Roxy..but Deb does it well!
Wonderful! Perfect. Not many covers are impressive.
True. But I've never heard a bad cover of this epic hit.
She has avery nice voice.........
Never heard this. Thank you blondie...shout out to Hawthorne NJ😉
Great cover!
Thank you so much for this great video and tune!
This is sweet.
I Remembered this song
I love debbie harry more than this because she can still rock
Great production and arrangements here, I’m a huge RM fan, I’m very impressed with this cover and Debbies interpretation of a silk love song with her NY Street narrative style
I too love the original Version.. But Anything Blondie Covers Becomes Diamond Plated.. Deborah Harry, She could sing the phone book and it'd be a favorite. Just be Glad She never Covered the USSR's anthem they might have won the cold war :P
Lovely cover. Like it even more than the original!
Pleasant enough, but no one touches Bryan Ferry...
soft movie but i dont remember this version by blondie, i clearly remember the scene when Murray's character sings the song in the karaoke bar that was so real and pure
You hot the wrong song in wrong tv show
one should not compare this version to brian ferries. both are beautiful!
Great version of a great song , it works , blondie always did do good covers , exept in my opinion their version of relax , not for me
Sorry but the best cover is the fantástic version of 100000 maníacs (Mary Ramsay) AWESOME!!
Wonderful!
@rebeledvid Debbie Harry and Bryan Ferry both have very distint styles with class. Would love to hear 'Blondies' rendition of "Slave to Love"....could not imagine anyone better to sing it like Debby
me encanta !!!
Wow!
This was not in lost in Translation, the Roxy Music original was
Great job. Thanks. :)
Wowww
Wow. .love it ..what era is this ? I'm guessing mid 90's as she is killing the high notes
At least you can hear the words and it's Deb
In modern stereos the snare drum is the loudest instrument and the guitars are almost gone. It's all vocals bass and drums. Organ and guitar music gets sidelined but are by far the most important part of the music. Insectillian aliens are designing the new manufacturing processes.
I didn't realise a studio version existed. Was this released in any form?
Never knew that she covered it... Interesting!
MUY BUENA VERSIÓN . CUIDADO CON LA VENGANZA DE FERRY, QUE PUEDE BORDAR " HEART OF GLASS" A SU ESTILO
I wish this had been included on The Curse Of Blondie.
Ahh it's that era then ...I agree. .
いいね🎵👍
Clasdic the Brian Ferry!!!
Esta música significa: Aproveite o "hoje" tanto quanto possível e espere o menos possível do "amanhã".
Nesta curta jornada da vida, a felicidade está no caminho e não no destino final.
Good times
Another Blondie song lost in space with no record to buy.
انا جيت من الفلم :) beautiful song btw
GOOD…
2;47
oh debbie...
My second favorite version of this song. The video has at least three slides that are not Deborah Harry.
At least 3! Almost every other one.
i love you debbye
God save deviee
Versão linda
GOSTEI
BI
Finally, cover by non-AI 😊
The late Miss Teresa Teng should've covered "More Than This."
Why only Debbie's photos? Blondie is a band, not a person
A heart breaking girl!!!
I’d know that voice & those lips anywhere!!!!
Why the blank 2 mins at the end of song ?
Please magic zip the 2m of broken pre-end
a 15 anni nella mia camera cerano i poster di Debby Harry e Bryan Ferry,
Roxy.
Brian Ferry
Orrore.
next'?…
wow never knew she sang this , who wrote this ?
It’s by Brian Ferry/Roxy Music. I love Blondie. But Brian sings it like nobody else.
Do not presume to know the secrets of a Queens heart or life... there are many ...many twists and turns ... that only God protectsthose secrets for reasons between them only..You need a big key to open up a Queens heart! Her loyalty is to her people and God himself!!She watches and studies who is loyal to herand who isn't ...!! That's the test!! She knows🎂!Do you think that is what God had intended!!!??But of course!!!
I'd love her to sing it with Susanna Hoffs.
I actually prefer Hoffs's version to the original!
@@spang9782 Susanna is my favourite American female singer
@@Chapps1941 HEY! I saw her first! LOL!!! J/K! She and I are the same age, and she was my boyhood crush since the 80's! And....she still looks absolutely stunning today!
@@spang9782 I'm exactly 6 months behind her. Astrologically we're a perfect match. Esp Ascendant, Sun, Moon, Venus and Mars. I'm going with that. My favourite Bangles song us, ofc, _"Manic Monday"_ and cover has to be _"Different Drum"_
Zooey Deschanel is born the same date.
Capricorn women age the best
@@Chapps1941 I have a 90 song Hoffs-only playlist that I listen to in my car every day. Her cover of "More Than This" is one of my favorites, along with an awesome cover of Lindsey Buckingham's "Trouble." She also has a performance video of Badfinger's "Feel Like Making Love" on RUclips. You'll need a cigarette after you watch it, whether you smoke or not!

Deja de ser un lamento del corazón. Falta el sentimiento de pérdida que transmite Ferry quien, sin embargo, no se resigna a perder a su pareja.
For some strange reason, I find myself wondering how a Prince cover of this song would've sounded.
Bryan ferry kick ass
Singing like a great singer but without feel 😩
It wasn't Natalie Merchant.....
Tadger Davidson debbie is the second best for this song imo.
Noone can touch Natalie
Natalie Merchant didn't sing this during her time in 10K Maniacs. They recorded it with the new singer
Mary Ramsay sang this for the Maniacs,, a very pretty voice as well.
This cover is from the 2000's. Using pictures from the 70's and 80's Blondie can be a bit misleading.
Blondie isn't misleading anyone, and was never trying to.
Can't touch 10,000 Maniacs
Disagree. This is better.
@@julianlockwood3040No no, you're wrong, but this Blondie version is not so bad at all but nowhere near 10,000 Maniacs live version from "playing favorites".
Mary Ramsey is great as a singer and viola player...and more professional in his way of singing than Natalie Merchant in my opinion.
Rubbish.
Both Harry and Ferry are enormous talents.
This track is certainly better than any of the live Blondie covers of More Than This that I've heard.
A great song. And a great singer. Blondie. But not THE Blondie. Its not Deborah Harry. Well done tho.
Não acho legal uma banda pegar a musica de uma outra pessoa e gravar, e o pior quando não acrescenta nada, prefiro na voz do Bryan Ferry.
10000 maniacs é melhor
Something was definitely lost in translation with this one
Ah Blondie Bad versión ....respect please delete this
Like the 10000 maniacs version better
I am a huge fan of all Roxy Music eras as well as Ferry's solo stuff but More Than This is one of my least favourite songs
I like " More Than This".
I have a tendency to like Roxy Music more if Brian Eno is involved, but this one has always moved me.
Eric Hernz I don't think not liking More Than This is a sign of weird taste but maybe more of just my own personal opinion. I am very familiar with every note Bryan has released either solo or with Roxy Music and I think like most bands, their better work is over shadowed by the radio friendly better known hits.
Blondie is one of the best bands ever. Here they are covering another equally incomparable bands from their time…and it stinks. Sorry to say.
No mames.....no shit
Pointless. Very bad version, and I'm an old time Blondie fan.
No good version, sorry.
No. This version not good
Go to original
Have to say that Natalie Merchant did it 10,000 times better.
+Scott Fiero sorry, you are quite correct, it was Mary Ramsey fronting those maniacs when they did this; still that much better, though ;-)
Well clearly you're the expert, I mean only the best don't even know who performed the version they prefer.
@@JonnyWatch just because I didn't know who was fronting the Maniacs at the time doesn't change the quality of the voice!
@@racketman2u K.
I love debbie harry, but this is awful
Have to agree. Love her, love this song, but not together.
I love it!!!
