Hi Bill. The clickbait title got my attention. Initially I thought it was another shopworn 'Glasgow's a Tough City' approach. Looks more like a jolly for post recovery! If I may, can I say whats tough? Getting out my bed 30 odd years ago at 4 :30 in the morning and walking to my work for a 6am start to feed me and the wife and kid. I stayed in Springburn, a north Glasgow suburb. Life was and still is tough. I ran with poor unfortunates who fell by the wayside. Thanfully, i never succumbed. Im now 58. Still working shit jobs and zero hours contracts, get fk all handed to me, no free teeth, nor sun tans. No social worker, nor PiP. Lifes more tough for us who never quite made it, nor fell by the wayside. Cordially. Ron.
You've got a great work ethic and self pride that no one can take away from you, some would say its easy to just go fuck it I'll sign on and get free hand outs but personally I'd say that's a tougher existence waking up with no purpose and confidence being chipped away at the longer im out of work. If you're in good health and can put food on the table for your family, you've made it mate 💯
I came from wallacewell Rd.. you must know it and morbihan a few of my mates fell by the wayside and are long gone now I'm 55 still working and still here ...all the best guys
Agreed, if you are working class and try and live a normal life you get absolutely zero reward for it. I'm just above the minimum wage so I'm excluded from any help whatsoever. Worked all my life. I my 50s now. No free hand outs. No free travel. No free housing, no help whatsoever. Taxed to the hilt. Earn just enough to pay all my outgoings. My mortgage and food and just get by with enough to have a beer at the weekend. Unfortunately it seems the more addictions you have in Scotland the more benefits and handouts you receive. They now give free bus Travel to EVERYONE under 22. Yet it costs me almost £80 a month. The system is all wrong. Good luck to those in recovery but they are an absolute drain on our country and the drug addicts that infest Glasgow City Centre have destroyed the place.
I first went to Glasgow to see Wolves in a friendly at Patrick Thistle. We were very wary of even opening our English-mouths, but I was very very struck by the friendliness of Glaswegians. Great city is Glasgow and some serious hard cases. I remember McDonalds round Leeds anyway in mid 90s putting UV lighting in khazis so you couldn’t find a vein as they were constantly occupied with bagheads.
Sadly, any claimed ex hard drugs addict you have to take their word with a grain of salt. Beg, borrow and steal has been their life for many years, hard to shake. Once had a 999 call from an 8 year old girl claiming the babysitter was making funny noises in the downstairs closet, babysitter was in respiratory arrest and still had the needle in her arm, we bagged her to consciousness, she denied taking any drugs, till we highlighted the needle in her arm, then she said "Did you put that there" Even had a user accuse me of stealing his baggies after saving his life, then you have the poor grannies we got who received broken arms etc when being mugged by these pillars of society. They used to thump them in the face till they let go of their handbags.

If we lived in anything remotely close to a meritocracy, we would not see vast gulfs in wealth that we do see. Pods have different abilities to acquire wealth but not at the difference often manifested. The trouble is many tools like investments and finance don’t require any individual work, so these massively distort the natural economic differences between people and their ability to generate income. Many falsely assume that wealth differences are inevitable products of market forces, but it’s much more complicated that that. The status quo has been deliberately engineered to maintain and increase the huge wealth gaps in society.
Maybe think before quick to judge and make your own conclusions because u do not know what that person has actually been through this past year and still be battling just now and before u judge not addictions or drugs and that man your referring to is someone I know very well that’s why I feel that I have to reply to that silly 10 word try n get a giggle statement! Fair play to the boys at the start 💪💪💪
Well done lad's keep going 💪
WELL DONE TROOPS
There's no way that fella on the left is clean 😂😂
Maybe think before quick to judge and make your own conclusions because u do not know what that person has actually been through this past year and still be battling just now and before u judge not addictions or drugs and that man your referring to is someone I know very well that’s why I feel that I have to reply to that silly 10 word try n get a giggle statement! There is far to much negativity in this world as it is so if there’s a positive /video just try and keep the positive vibes going nothing nice to say don’t say anything at all Amen 🙏🏻
@lindafitzsimons7494 Am I lying? Is he clean? It doesn't look like it, I have a sister who is a raving smack head, its always someone else's fault, we all have problems but don't all turn to drugs
@@Moostafa78 no we don’t some hit the gym some hit the drink some take antidepressants everyone copes different and he owns it he took drugs from 10 years old and he’s not blaming anyone for his actions but I know for a fact he has been in recovery for couple of years now and trying everyday to right his wrongs but life through something else for him to deal with and the surgeries and on going treatment has effected him pretty bad and might be something he will have to deal with again but I pray not 🙏🏻but in spite of that he continues to work hard help others and try and make his life better that man is my family I know what he’s been through and how he soldiers on to hear his recovery/ journey being mocked it’s quite sad really but suppose I can only control my words & my actions and remember that not everyone has the gift of empathy 🙏🏻🌈🙂✌️
@@Weelindaro know these guys faces I’m sure I’ve spoke to James a few times in barrowfield where I live whish them both all the best🙏🏻💙 some people don’t realise how easy it could have been them tc 👍🏻
I've lived in Glasgow and in Manchester and half my family are from Glasgow area and many in my family were from Manchester in the past but I'm telling you this now Billy Glasgow is not the most dangerous/toughest place in Britain.. yes it's a tough place but Manchester is on another level of structured and random craziness and violence and crime etc.. anyone who had spent a lot of time and known people in both places knows this
Nonsense - Manchester has always been a friendly place. Used to stay near partington and vs Glasgow was nowhere near the same. Never felt unsafe in Manchester
Glasgow the toughened city 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Well done Jamie Bhoy
