Hi Teacha Karen! Thanks so much for your videos, it is really helping me. I just hope I pass my test in 1 go. I wanted to ask what time is the best time for me to go on standby to do my demo lesson? I'm from SA and I've waited already from 12pm to 1pm and also at 8pm to 2am and no admin entered. Is it the wrong timing? I preferred to do it at night because I have my 3month old baby girl, my 4 year old daughter and after 3pm my 2 older sons coming from school. I'll really appreciate your feedback❤️

I keep getting an error message stating I've been redirected too many times and the page won't load. Do you have any clue how to fix this? Or have you ran into this issue before? Been watching your video Teacha Karen, at very helpful po talaga siya. Last week I took my demo with Admin Melissa, it was my first demo. Pero di naging maganda ang result, pwede bang makipag-argue sa admin once na pinipilit niyang tama siya at mali yung pagcorrrect ko sa binigay niyang sample sentence.
They have dementia.
She is cured.
'Yan yung mga binigay niyang sentence kasi sa vocabulary part gagawa ang student ng sentence using that word.
Sabi ko sa admin na tama yung sentence na binigay niya pero sabi niya mali daw' yun, at sinabihan niya ako na di raw ako marunong magcorrect ng mali ng estudyante kaya ang ending pinapagretake niya ako.
Di nga niya sa akin inexplain kung ano ang mali sa sentence na ibinigay niya, basta sabi niya mali po ako.
Alam ko pong tama yun eh, confident po akong tama 'yun though napakasimple ng sentence na binigay niya pero wala po dun mali talaga. Nag-ask na din ako ng kapatid kong English teacher sabi niya tama naman raw yung sentence so, pagganun po ba pwede po bang makipag-argue sa admin?

Di ko masabi bakit ka nya nimark down, para sa akin, ang pwedeng maging mali is ang context ng cured. Baka mamaya ang definition sa lesson pala is "to preserve" e.g. I like eating homemade cured ham? Hehe ang mali lang sa admin is di nya pinaliwanag bakit mali. In that case ang masusuggest ko is not really to argue but to better communicate with the admin. (Wag matakot magtanong, magquestion o magexplain)

If you're going to do your demo be aware of tricky questions like the differences between tea and coffee ! Dont forget to smile a lot

Hello, Teacha Karen! I am from Pakistan, and I have already watched almost all of your videos in the last five days. I have a question regarding the format for the demo class. Specifically, I'm unsure whether to follow the format shown in the tutorial videos in the learning kit or the provided script as it is.
I noticed some differences between the two. For example, the script asks us to play US pronunciation only, while the tutorial requests both pronunciations. Additionally, the script only requires us to read the example sentence, while the tutorial includes reading the definition as well.
Could you please clarify which format we should follow for the demo class?
Also, I want to Thank you for everything you do for aspiring teachers. You're the best!
For the demo, I would just follow the script, that way I can simply prove to the admin that I just followed the instructions right in front of me.

The problem I experience is that admins don't appear at all. I wait for longer for an admin to appear amd they never show up. I did all the other tests and I have to do the demo lesson
someone that was doing her own Demo Lesson said she was asked by admin Franscis that what is different between Tea and Coffee
Google would be your best friend if you are caught off guard. Tea has lower caffeine levels compared to coffee. Coffee is a common drink in the morning to energize people while tea is a common drink after meals or before going to bed.
Hi teachear Karen, what if you cannot hear the article, how do you know that the reading completed? Do you ask the student?
I have doubt. During the demo lesson, most of the screen is occupied by video square and only half screen the lesson was displaying. I was distracted by moving the script screen up and down. And I started making um um ..then I had to retake the demo again.
That can be adjusted. I hope you can use Google Chrome and adjust the screen resolution of your computer
How long can we take to finish all the steps
Hey teacha! Today i gave my first demo lesson and it was not going too well, but I believe I could have made it except my mom called me ;-; so I had to ASK for a retake because she kept calling. Anyway, my administrator was the famous Mr Francis, and while going over the word and phrases, he asked me "how would I make sure that the student REALLY understands the meaning of the words?" and I said that i'd ask them if they have any questions at the end. He said that well, the student could say yes even though they didnn't understand it, how will you make sure that they REALLY understand it? And i was like... umm ig I'll ask them to form a sentence with the words and the phrases. And before he could say anything about that, my mom called and then i had to ask for a retake. So, first of all I'll be sure to put my phone on dnd before i take my next demo, but also, was that an okay answer? what should i have said? What should i say if he asks me the same thing on my retake? I would really appreciate your help!!!
I would have said the same thing :) I would ask a student to use it in a sentence, thus be able to assess his comprehension of the word. :) I would also sometimes ask them to explain to me how they understand the word.

I notice in this demo lesson the student is asked to make a sentence using the word. Does this mean they have to make their own sentence?? Also, what are the Admin wanting in the ChatBox? The Student's sentence of THE WORD to be used in the sentence

You have to review both po. Don’t worry the admin will stick to their learning kit they provided . The admin will be the one to choose your topic in your demo lesson .

Just check with the student :) If they can't hear anything, just read the text aloud :)

Please prepare for both materials, you're supposed to hear something when you play the audio button. Please try to update your browser or clear browsing history.

Please note that the demo materials are levels 4-5 and 6-7. The lesson material used in the tutorial video on their website is for levels 9-10.

Teacher Karen do you follow the learning kit or the script because they are both different?
In "what is white day ..."in part words and phrases there is no instruction for playing the audio for Us , Uk pronunciation , what should we do ? Should we play the audio or read by ourselves ?
let's just prioritize what the learning kit taught us, at least if the admin questions why you did it that way, you would be able to defend yourself. What I would do is, play the US/UK pronunciation since the point of daily news is to teach new vocab based on American and British English standards.
I would only read by my self IF the audio is not working, e.g. student says they can't hear it.

Hello Teacher Karen, thank you for your videos, they are very helpful and I you give out such positive and happy vibes. So, I'm studying to take my Demo Lesson and I'm so confused because I've been studying the Learning Kit. I happened to open the learning material and in the instructions it says that the student must create a sentence for each word. Just follow the instructions on the student's textbook. There is no standard step on how to.proceed as it depends on the textbook alone. Just follow the instructions there :)

Better to prepare for both levels :) thing is, admins are quite unpredictable. Also, the teaching method is a lot similar for all levels, it's just that the "difficulty level" varies

It depends on the case, if the teacher does not have proof to defend himself or herself, then NC doesn't have a choice but to be pro-student. This is why screen capture and screen record on the teacher's part is important.

Hi po I got an email na pwede na po ako mag proceed sa audio recording and then napasa ko na po pero sa mismong account po sa native camp hindi pa rin pa po nagrereflect yung result and nakalagay pa rin po ay please wait ibigsabihin po ba nun pasado na ko sa demo lesson? mga ilang araw po kaya yun mag reflect kasi 48 hours na po nakalipas
