      True but also remember that that’s just her. Not everyone who has been arrested for DV has actually committed DV - I speak from my own experience with my very toxic father and older sister; sometimes the narcissist calls or lies to the police and due to the severity of DV the police HAS to remove 1 party from the property and into custody. Being arrested is very traumatic and I hope they both learned from that experience.

    IMO Mal & Sam are heaven sent. Xander is a good person deep-down that deserves genuine love. Aussie, Tiff & Rae need more than anyone to feel secure and heal. IDC Vanessa is not the "most problematic" person of the show; but for some reason she is stuck in that antagonistic role like let her grow daaaamn 😭
    Yoly & Mildred are literal red flags; the most dangerous kind on top of that because they both have this heavy self-righteous personality about them. Lastly, I appreciate Lexi but to be honest Lexi - she is a red flag too when it comes to Vanessa/Rae… Anyway, that was a great show loved every episode of it ! Soooo disappointed in the reunion. They did not ask the right questions. I felt like Yoly should've been put on blast for her behavior, stringing Mal and Xander along the entire time, so manipulative, wanting to have her cake and eat it too, Yoly disgusts me and she still plays the victim, so happy Mal left her, also Mildred is disgusting, she physically assaulted Tiff and still tries to act like the victim, so toxic and complete gaslighter, also at first I didn't like Vanessa but now I do she has shown growth, and i hated that Lexie and Yoly were ganging up on her. Like get off your self righteous pedestals, Lexie you brought your partner into this show knowing the rules knowing you guys would break up and that they might hook up, if you didn't want that you shouldn't have brought her to the show, take accountability, grow up!!!! She wasn’t treating the experience as seriously as everyone else, BUT who can blame her for that when she wasn’t ready to commit to marriage in the 1st place…. Lexi was JEALOUS, that’s why she villainized her. Point blank period. Same with Yoly concerning Mal, but they knew the risks of signing up! Vanessa did have a single moment with Xander which wasn’t ok, but Xander kept a secret from her + she’s human and I don’t believe she deserved all the mean girl behavior she got whatsoever.

      Vanessa was a manipulative, vindictive control freak who lied and said Xander was asexual in order to diminish their ability to pair with folks in the trial marriage. She tried to control what Xander did and didn’t say every time the cast was back together. Vanessa chose Rae and then manipulated her into intimacy in order to injure Lexi. Then she said she want interested in Rae anyway. She’s not quirky, she’s a self important narcissist

    • @wh1000
      @wh1000 Год назад +7

      @@thisaccount765 Half of what you said is heavily based on pure speculation. Who’s to say Xander didn’t claim she was asexual before exploring intimacy with Vanessa prior to the show? That could’ve given her that confidence that Xander was going to just do the show to strengthen her surety in Vanessa. If anyone was acting controlling and possessive throughout the ENTIRE show it was LEXI with Rae. Rae is a grown ass adult who made her own decision to do what she did. Let’s not forget SHE led Vanessa’s hand to do the act. Not vice versa. - and TBH, she had free reign to do so without being heavily guilted to the verge of flat out emotional abuse by Lexi. They were technically on a break based on the shows parameters! RAE is the one who couldn’t say or blink an eye without Lexi’s approval. That was pretty evident even BEFORE the Vanessa scandal with Rae seeming practically crippled with anxiety about even participating in the show with Lexi hawking her down. Neither Rae or Vanessa wanted to be serious for the trial marriage, so they both were equally not into one another in a committed way - so your point is not justified. O and Rae CHOSE Vanessa first in the choice episode. Vanessa was interested in dating Rae and even dabbled with her BEFORE the Lexi drama. You can’t say she was being vindictive when she already was considering Rae for the experiment before shit hit the fan. After Lexi popped off, Vanessa’s behavior simply became trivial entertainment for the show. Nothing more.

    I'm a Hispanic, black, cis male over 50, married 25 yrs, 4 adult kids. This show was BOMB. Excellent social experiment, absolutely exposing the very real challenges of communication and self-awareness. Observations: 1. Mildred is damaged beyond repair. She's in so much emotional pain that she deflects everything and hurts everyone around her with ZERO personal accountability. I HATED that no one really countered her amazing ability to accuse, deflect, and straw man her way out of everything. Unacceptable use of her culture as an excuse, even if it IS a factor. 2. Aussie is also WAY damaged, although she retreats instead of lash out like Mildred. Her hints at her upbringing means she was SERIOUSLY abused. She is NOT really out. In my opinion, she is a powder keg of repression that when her coping mechanism of retreat fails, it will be DEVASTATING to anyone around her. She needs therapy, for real. 3. Both Sam and Tiff deserve better, even if they themselves were incompatible (I also see culture as a factor there). 4. Yoly and Xander could've made it, I think. They seemed to encompass the PURPOSE of the experiment. Chemistry and values were in sync from the get go... given time they could've grown together. And the fact they were both Ultimatum givers cemented this. But then again, Yoly had to choose to LEAVE the BEST person in television. I felt it accurately human that she chose her mind over her heart. Mal wasn't right for her. All of Mal's views on Holy were spot on: she was ALWAYS going to gravitate towards Xander: Yoly's type. Yoly handled the situation poorly though. 5. Lexie and Rae: I KNEW from the get go it wouldn't work. Textbook case why ultimatums DON'T work. Real love is selfless, and Rae just didn't love Lexie the same way Lexie loved Rae. Lexie was trying to CONVINCE Rae, but Rae was more afraid of losing an opportunity down the road than to lose Lexie. She'd already chosen coming into the show, like all the ultimatum receivers except... 6. Vanessa: Ironically the ONLY person in the show that actually changed, albeit too late. I feel Vanessa was the most misunderstood person in the show. Her bubbly façade hid a host of insecurities, and it rubbed everyone the wrong way except Rae, who envied Vanessa's (fake) freedom. Lexie saw through the façade quick, and because Lexie seems like a highly logical and intelligent person, coupled with the fact that Rae was at stake, she lost all empathy with Vanessa and wrote her off completely. Vanessa bore the brunt of Lexie's rage at the fact that Rae didn't choose her...she KNEW this deep inside. Vanessa on the other hand, treated Xander like crap because I think for the first time ever she saw that her coping mechanisms FAILED MISERABLY, and began to realize that Xander WAS the one that got away before the show was over. She was FAKE, but it was intriguing to see WHY she was so fake. Insecure, narcissistic, attention-grabbing.... All a front for a deeply insecure person. ---Conclusion: In the end, I wanted Mal and Lexie to end up together (and still do and think they eventually will). Their relationship was instantly built upon mutual respect and decency, there was the physical attraction, but oodles of maturity and self-restraint without self-denial. Lexie is a ridiculously attractive woman, her giant boobs being WAY DOWN in the totem pole of WHY she is as far as I'm concerned. Brilliant, driven, funny, charming, self-assured, kind AND aggressive when appropriate, and GORGEOUS to boot (I admit, I have a bit of a platonic crush; I would NOT leave my baby for ANYONE). But man, how is Rae gonna do better than that super trophy wife?! Mal, keep hacking at it. She seems worth it. Xander deserves better, and I'm sure she'll find it now that she knows herself better. Maybe Yoly will fill that void, but Yoly is somewhat of a wildcard given Mal's highly accurate observations and predictions. Everyone else needs to go their separate ways and get help. For real.

They are definitely wonderful individuals but they have a TV personality that is golden, woke, and with it. They also knew what they were doing.
      Back to Rae- I lowkey feel like she was pressured into doing something she didn’t wanna do. Forced to make a decision. She decided, she tried it, it didn’t work. Good for her.

    About Rae and Lexi, we noticed how Rae was pressured to accept what Lexi said, I felt bad when Lexi wanted to "create" a Rae that only existed in her head, and the worst thing was that Rae was always silent when Lexi said that she had no autonomy, it was like Rae was a little child who doesn't know what is right and wrong, and while Rae was silent I just thought, "Whoever is silent, consents". I was a little uncomfortable with how the girls treated Vanessa, cornering her, and they didn't look in the mirror to realize that they had also made "mistakes", but it's easy to point the finger at someone else. About Mildred, wow, me as a woman from South America, "Latina" I felt offended when she said that it's a cultural thing to interrupt someone, the way in which she was doing it, it's not culture, it's bad manners, it's a wrong attitude, and whenever she wanted to force a conversation just because she wanted to talk, terrible, she's a toxic woman, of course we all have some toxic traits but you identify it's wrong, it's the first step, but she didn't do it at any moment. Sam and Aussie, My God, Sam is such a patient woman, I hope Aussie is really evolving, fighting during the program that she had an internal problem, I hope she is recovering in this regard, for Sam I wish only good things , she is a good person. About Xander, Vanessa, Mal and Yoly, they faced that Xander and Yoly needed this, because both gave themselves too much to their partners, Mal and Vanessa are good people, but they didn't really want to, they didn't have security about their relationships, I think that's why being with someone who is responsible made them feel free to be the "calm" person "at ease with life" "no pressure", but it's good that everyone chose their path. Anyway, that everyone is really living good moments in life.

    1) Not including pronouns under each cast member's name (which contributed to members like Aussie & Tiff being constantly misgendered by viewers & commentators)
    2) Not having a sapphic or queer host who would've understood certain nuances in the community and been able to properly mediate the reunion conversations
    3) Not taking the DV that happened to Tiff seriously. They shouldn't of had to be in the same room as Mildred. Mildred shouldn't have been able to interrupt and verbally attack them the way she did (which I hear lasted much longer than what we saw) and the producers should've put a Trigger Warning in the beginning and LGBTQ+ specific DV resources at the end of the reunion episode.

Mildred was talking over her, gaslighting her in front of everyone, and Mildred admitted on camera about lying in a DV police report. And still you give her a platform. None of this was framed correctly, none of it was handled correctly. This is unacceptable and disgusting.

      Lexi isn't perfect, but she was pretty cool. She has flaws and didn't take enough responsibility for her treatment of Rae sometimes, but she's definitely not like Mildred and Yoly. I don't know if Yoly just has a lying problem, but Mildred is so problematic and Lexi is for sure a lot more decent than her and a lot more likeable than Yoly. Of course Yoly sided with Mildred, because they are both horrible liars. I was annoyed that nobody said anything or did anything except for Sam, about Mildred. I feel like Sam and Rae both should've ultimately decided to choose themselves. Sam has clearly done the work to become a better version of herself. I can tell she's done a lot of shadow work and possibly therapy. Aussie, on the other hand *really* needs therapy to work out her childhood trauma. It's bleeding into her relationship with Sam. As far as my views on Rae, she's such a sweet person. But she really has to work on her self esteem. It really stood out to me when Vanessa asked her to name three things she loved about herself and she couldn't do it. She's very soft spoken and I feel like Lexi's Type-A personality makes walks all over Rae. Leaving someone you love is hard, but you've got to love yourself more.

    I couldn’t believe that Aussie is in her forties behaving the way she does. Very emotionally stunted & needs a therapist. Mildred is very confrontational & aggressive, so negative. It was alarming to watch. Lexi is controlling, beating Rae over the head about getting married, the girl wasn’t ready, stop trying to force it. Rae, Vanessa & Xander needed to find security within themselves without being in any relationship. Sam is very sweet, glad she started sticking up for herself. Mal is very attractive & charming. Yoli seems inauthentic, very wishy-washy.

    To any of you who just can’t figure out why people don’t like Vanessa, here is one of many reasons, but I think one of the more important:
    Vanessa told other contestants that Xander is asexual without Xander’s permission, and perhaps worse, without Xander even identifying as such. This is a monstrous act. I’m concerned that this detail got glossed over by all of Vanessa’s histrionics and all of the weird Vanessa apologists out there. Aside from all the other controlling, manipulative, vindictive things she did, what she did to Xander was inexcusable.
    There is an episode where Vanessa told another contestant that Xander is asexual in order to presumably manipulate the outcome of the trial marriage proceedings. Perhaps this was Vanessa’s passive aggressive punishment to Xander for not being as sexually active as she’d prefer. Perhaps she was hoping to diminish the interest of anyone who had found them attractive, but what was worse is it clearly appeared to be a lie. Vanessa was so busy thinking of herself and how to domineer all of the contestants, she committed a really dangerous act of aggression toward her partner. Vanessa clearly thought so little of Xander, she decided that her potential net gain outweighed any of Xander’s agency in that moment. Vanessa did a lot of disgusting things on this show, but this was one of the most calculated and ill intended. It’s up to each individual to decide what and to whom details of their sexuality are shared no matter what dating show they are on.

    • @Anne-zt2dz
      @Anne-zt2dz Год назад

      I am convinced Vanessa said this based on things Xander had told her. Perhaps Vanessa wanted to open up their relationship because she as we saw enjoys dating other people and js probably polyamorous. Xander might have just said something along the lines of only being into her/sexually monogamous in response to keep Vanessa close (trapped), which showed itself to be untrue when Xander started hooking up with Joly. This one comment was no excuse for the bullying Vanessa experienced that clearly was just deflection from the jealousy of (control freak) Lexi and (liar) Joly.

      Her and the crew annoyed me. They didn't have respect for the feelings of the contestants. Of course it's a show and part of the show was filming those emotional moments and their authentic reactions when things went down, but they didn't draw the line at any point. The crew and host of the show just wanted their drama to use it for entertainment and make money off of it. They didn't give the contestants their space when they clearly needed it, or even when they specifically asked for it. What happened to human decency? Everyone seemed to need a reality check and lots of therapy, individual and couple therapy.
