97' ...I was 17 in love with both bands. Also when the movie Lost Highway came out with one of the best soundtracks to ever come out... with both these guys...and Rammstein. I miss the 90s too..
Same. I'm 40, and never saw it before. I was obsessed with both acts as a teen. And still love them now, so I'm glad to have found it! I mean I knew that BC and MM were good friends, so it makes sense. And I like their voices together too! ❤️ (I'm guessing it was a one time collab at that concert only. 🤷♀️)
Probably my favorite song right now. Been listening to Manson since 98 and I love how he reinvents himself with every new album. This song is a rare gem.
I started with Manson when I was 13 and when Holywood was released. To this day this album is in my Top Ten of the best Albums ever existed. Greetings from Germany and keep on listening to all MAnsons Albums 🙂
@@angelashinnerI suspect that he constantly quotes Andy Warhol to himself “I just do art because I’m ugly and there’s nothing else for me to do.” Unfortunate he's nowhere near as talented.
i come back to this video every week... i am addicted. i want to go back in the 90s and i wasn't even alive then lol. if any one of you attended any manson concerts during that era feel free to comment the experience or any stories about it, i'd love to hear them:)
Saw MM 3 times between 99 and 2001. Still the best shows I've ever seen, hands down. The effort that went into his sets was incredible; each song was its own play with its own characters. I have also never seen a crowd respond to an artist like they did at his shows. He owned them. People don't realize what a showman he was. So glad I got to experience it.
Saw Manson at a venue in Alabama called Sloss Furnace in 2001 during the Guns God and Government tour. It’s an old “haunted” steel mill. It was one of the best shows I’ve been to. He put on an amazing performance using a variety of costumes, prosthetics, even stilts. He wrote about the place in his book, “The Long Hard Road Out Of Hell” about an incident that happened backstage, if I recall correctly. In the book he mistakenly stated that Sloss was in Mississippi. I’ve seen him several other times. During The Antichrist tour was also amazing. It was in Alabama too, so I am surprised he even got to play because this was when many of his shows were being canceled due to his “controversial” lyrics and performances. There were church groups outside protesting and screaming at us as we walked in. During the show, he stood behind a podium and ripped up a bible. He also dressed in his German WWII costume and also a large black coat covered with feathers and had wings. One of the best experiences of my life.
I relate to these lyrics immensely. My best friend took his own life a few months ago. I realize I loved him more than I thought. Every word from this song is him. It's me. Never again will I see him, or feel his touch..
Around 1999ish, I remember waiting hours at a time for several days to download this entire video with dial up. 5 percent here, 10 percent there. I eventually had the whole video.
I have to admit I wasn't sure if I'd really enjoy this but was pleasantly surprised and glad I checked this out seeing it posted in a Facebook group dedicated to punk, metal and rock
THank you so much for sharing this!! I knew that Billy and Marilyn hung out and performed together-never got to see any footage of it though. Magnificent!
It’s real. With the *almost* mistakes by Iha, the *giggling* by Corgan, and the *powerful* vocals by Manson. The drummer *almost?* dropping the sticks at the end. This is such a great feat of songwriting, it takes me to another place. I’m not necessarily trading this version for the studio version, but this is what I love about music, with all its lovely imperfections. Had I known this existed around ‘97 or ‘98, I would have shit my pants.
Que dejame decirte que el "boom" o el mejor momento de Manson fue hasta 1999, que estúpidas acusaciones sin fundamentos reales lo hayan logrado hundir , no desmerita que el mejor año de Míster Manson fue en 1999'.
Cool. I've always found that post-Antichrist Superstar, pre-Mechanical Animals era of MM to be very intriguing, but they didn't produce much at that time. Long Hard Road Out of Hell was a great song with a different sound; seems they mutated too fast for a proper expression of that time to be documented. At least there's this.
@The GRlggsTER Mechanical Animals was for sure a great concept album. I did get really into it years later around 2005; I'd get loaded and lay in the dark and listen to it every other night for weeks or even months. I have heard quite a bit that came after and never could get into it.
This is a great concept you guys!! I never contemplated this...Long Hard Road is probably my fave music video & song...Though they have many incredible vids!
