@@califishing5026 i got the new Yamaha 2.5 super strong and reliable. Suzuki is the best lightest motor. Fuel they are almost all the same. I would recommend the Suzuki 2.5. I have a TI hobie so I took the extra weight and its super reliable. Either way those three choices of motors you can't go wrong
Oh I saw it’s Capitola. We fished around Santa Cruz on the same day and it was really slow until about 1pm, and the fish started biting. We ended up with 8 rockfish each, not bad for a winter day.
Nice setup dude! I've got a 30lb minnkota on my lifetime. I love it.
Great that u have that motor and the outriggers help out a lot be safe kid join FnS kayak fishing awesome group!
I like that lens on the go pro.
Haha nice to know someone reads the description! Yeah I think I'll keep using it!
Dude that is some serious upgrade. I am so jealous. Keep trying, this time of year fishing is slow in the shallow. Good luck.
Thanks! Yeah I haven't had much luck out there so far...
Trust your kayak, it's built to be stable. A few pounds on one side, especially with outriggers, isn't going to do any harm.
Thanks for all the tips!!
how are you transporting the kayak, like the setup for your car
I have my setup shown in my previous videos! Just a $35 kayak rack and some ratchet straps from Home Depot
What trolling mount was it?
👍
your right side outrigger dives way to deep and creating a lot of drag hence you aren't going as fast as you like.
Yeah it does go slightly deep but the thing is if it is not in the water (or barely in it) then it doesn't provide very good stabilization.
I've never seen the small outriggers before, are they just as good as the longer ones in terms of adding stability?
Which longer ones? I can't testify how good those other ones work but with these you are NOT flipping over.
I've been wanting to do the same , what size motor did you get?
I got a 35lb thrust trolling motor, if you do some research you'll see that more thrust will not make you go faster and its just more expensive.
Too bad I missed this day! Let’s get back out there as soon as possible. We need those lings!
This break we will be killing it!
How much did the total setup cost
For the entire motor setup it was around $350
Did you register your kayak
He doesn't have to unless he has a outboard
Still need to register even with a trolling motor.
@@califishing5026 hmm I see i thought only outboards. Mine is registered. Since I have a 2.5hp motor on my mine.
Nice ya I'm not sure if I want the trolling motor or the honda bf 2.3.

@@axscdvfb wow 8 rockfish each! What bait were you using?
@@HideshiIzu Squid, rockfish bellies (left-over from filleting) and plastics.
