If the king castles long (queenside) than you'd reverse the pawn chain. The beautiful thing about chess is that it is ALL situational.. Usually after around the 10th move; the chess piece positions have never been played before so all rules become more like guidelines.
Nice video: You got in quickly, without the usual, lengthy graphics and title “overhead.” You gave us the info, and then you got out. Thank you! Very fine video!
Thank you, you explain it well, one step at a time. I looked at other vids tonight & can only say if I was a Master at Chess, I wouldn't need advice. I think some of these instructors go 100 miles a minute to show they're supposed genius - keep dreaming, you're teaching now, not defeating. Miss of "this" video, you're a really good instructor !!!
This is a great tutorial. The pawn chain pointing towards the king side is an amazing way to set up the board so you can move your major pieces into positions for a good mate.
I have been looking for a video EXACTLY like this: all of the other pawn structure videos reference esoteric openings that I don't understand. Also she has a wicked cool voice.
I like her chess teaching. She keeps it simple, straight forward and tells you why. It's also nice to see women taking an interest. I often feel like the lone geek.
I have seen so many end games which result in complex pawn structure. Top players resign I don't understand why they resign. They have the ability to calculate and come up with moves which result in a mate.
I heard from many people that two pans in column is a not good configuration. There are no golden rules in chess. If there are golden rules there is nothing challenging. In some configurations two pans in a column may be helpful to win the game.

How to play Chess - All in one place: ruclips.net/p/PLLALQuK1NDriznzxP5rQkQwKIrGSWRMZF
Learned a couple of things I didn't know about pawns. Especially the pawn chain directed towards the enemy king side.

Good, straightforward, well-designed explanation, thanks.

I already know all about chess basics, but I'm watching these videos over and over again because these videos are fun to watch.
These videos are so helpful. I haven't heard of these pawn structure and that's just the thing I was looking for.
I love when they knock A piece down!!!😂
Simple but effective instruction. Thanks for uploading.
double pawns in the center can be very advantageous, as it adds more power to the center squares.
Very good ideas. I have been playing for a long time and have not been familiar with these principles. You explained them well.
A very simple and yet effective explanation of the basics of common pawn structures. Good content :)

Very useful and informative video. Btw, were I'm from, we call a pawn on its own an "island." Thanks for the video. I've learned some useful things.
Learned to baby sit a passed pawn, excellent. Thank You
That was great . This video will help me mitigate my own positional weaknesses and exploit those of my
opponents
You can also do that in chess.
@@alaaranga2765 💀
I always thought that doubled pawns were to be avoided?
It's okay to have doubled pawns if you can later use it to take enemy's pawn.
me too but I have seen computer has no problem to make double pawn as long as they are in the center of the board.
There are also connected pawns and backward pawn
So i take it pawn structures are better at being potential pawn structures that can come together if you really need them at some point at the game

How bout a triple pass isolated pawn
2:18 babysitting this pawn 😂😂😂😂
Is it considered worse or better is the isolated pawn in at the edge of the board.
HOWEVER
Its easy to moved up the pawn chain but hard to keep it when you take
How is it that the rook has a trouble with defending both isolated pawns at the same time?

link to the board/mat??? Where can it be purchased for europeans?
The complexity comes in seeing things that are not ebvious, and being able to combine the different elements of play.
She forgot the most important of all... the drunk pawn = the pawn that is constantly falling over by tripping over the players fingers!!!😂😂😂
why does double pawns have 3 pawns?
The man is better in explanation
But hes not better in tit

Lady chess, you did a good job with just a few minutes on the clock.
Nice pawns
When presenting a chess lecture, it is critical to have a drum machine on the soundtrack.
Super video, I did not know this.
What about a pawn thing? (Idk the name) in a zig-zag pattern
There is nothing particularly good or important about them, however, they can control a lot of space.
What about the jagged pawn structure like a WWW
Also the one like zigzags cuz it protects all of the pawns
I think I'm in love a wee bit
where or how to buy this chess board?
This move would been better if you had the black chess pieces defending. I never seen a chess game where the other side is stationary
Just be careful with a pawn chain, because the opposite colour bishop can slide through them.
Did anybody else notice that she sounds exactly like Meg (Family Guy) ??
they say if you defend an isolated pawn it can turn in 2
things at once
Can you have two queens same color on the board?
yes, by promoting
You can have 9 queens of the same color on the board
Thanks a lot
Seems reasonable and legit to me

I love chess after seeing this video
Love her New York accent
"The taap poawrn, and the baat'm poawrn"
0:26 "Each pawn in this pawn chain is protecting one another" Technically not accurate.

Should have emphasized more that double pawns are pretty much never ideal but otherwise good.
She sounds like Mila Kunis lol Great video for beginners!
I actually won once using an isolated pawn

You didn't told the connected pawn structure.
Awesome
Nice
Rebecca is alright looking =)
Pawn are the least important piece so you don’t need to protect the pawn because it does not give anything good
