It's really interesting watching how you care for and feed your dogs. I am a Poodle owner so am well aware of their sensitive stomach issues. It's good to see your variety of toppers and good quality kibble. You mention raw feeding, maybe in the future, but too time consuming if it's DIY. I'm only mentioning as I was feeding kibble and finally took the leap to raw and never looked back. There are plenty of high quality complete raw foods out there, just scoop (nuggets) and defrost in the fridge, almost as easy as kibble. You could add the exact same toppers that you are doing now if you'd like. The first thing I noticed was their poops were much reduced in size and odour, making that job of clearing much reduced. Kibble could always be kept on hand for those urgent occasions. You can add Slippery Elm Powder (Tree Barks Powder UK) with any tummy or gut issues which is said to be safe during pregnancy and lactation. Thanks again for your videos of your beautiful dogs.
My labradoodle pup is raw fed after we really struggled to find a kibble we liked (his breeder also fed him raw food) and that reacted to his stomach well. He absolutely loves his meat/fish meals, kibble toppers are a great idea that we never considered, if we ever change his diet I think we’ll certainly consider toppers!! This video has been great and so informative ☺️☺️
Would love an updated one! Including the Pregnant and lactating mamas and puppies
We love adding bone broth to rehydrate. Great topper and nutrients!
We use the Honest Kitchen dehydrated human grade which allows you to have the ease of scooping and measuring like kibble, but you have to add water to it which adds one step. I also love topping with the Against the Grain salmon and bone broth. You are doing a great job with this feeding regimen, but if you want to explore other options that’s one I have enjoyed and seen great success with my dog!
ive also fed my 2 small dogs honest kitchen dehydrated food since i got them 5 years ago. id imagine it being very expensive for 6 large dogs though lol
This was super helpful! Thank you for sharing with us! Your channel is seriously the best! Excited to find out about Ms. Indy! 💕😊
Thank you so much! 💗
You both do a great job and love how you show people different ways
Purina pro plan really that is one of the worst kibbles around but I’m glad you’re putting toppers on it to try to at least give your dog some healthy stuff. I have never, and will never give any dog that I have any Purina product too many recalls and their quality of their meat protein is 4d. If you don’t know what that is, look it up.
With the eggs you can feed them store bought ones but you dont want to feed the shells if the eggs were bought at the store as store bought eggs are normally sprayed with chemicals
What kind of chemicals, for what reason? Could washing them work? I buy the 5 dozen boxes that inevitably contain cracked ones...my dogs love their treat. Though the price has skyrocketed recently. Thanks Joe.
@@1111atreides it’s a mineral oil that they spray on them to help with shelf life! Washing them might help but personally I wouldn’t take that risk
Its great to see other dog owners really caring about their pets health. If you have time I recommend blending your dog’s veggies in a food processor or blender as it breaks down the cell wall. With our dogs teeth they cant chew veggies very well and by breaking down the plants cell wall for them, they are able to absorb and use more of the nutrients and vitamins. (If not that’s perfectly fine your are still providing high amounts of fiber and vitamins as well as helping your dog express their anal glands on their own:) ) I am curious why you don’t like to feed raw grocery store eggs. At least for me and my dog and all the research I have done on canine nutrition they are good and safe. As what I have read it’s only the shells they spray with chemicals. I totally understand the raw food. I personally feed raw but it takes a lot of time to research, make, and balance your dog’s food if you are doing homemade raw. I am personally going into an animal nutrition major so I enjoy it but I under stand not everyone can manage it. And a balanced kibble meal is healthier than an unbalanced raw meal. There is always premade raw grinds like Stella and chewy, Raw feeding Miami, and more. With the chicken feet just make sure you aren’t giving them a ton because the kibble already has bone content. Just too much bone can cause constipation, but love that you are helping your dog’s teeth and nutrition. Keep it up! Great and informative video! 👍🏼
Yes this is amazing! Remember no corn wheat or soy! Otherwise good for you!
Such a great demonstration of how to add fresh food to a dogs diet!
Thank you!!
Thanks for this video. I’ve been meaning to pickup some pumpkin purée to try for our goldendoodle. We switch up from raw to freeze dried and little bit of Instinct kibble mix because she gets picky after a while. But I think I will adding more topper with the raw -maybe she won’t get picky. She loves the sardines (no salt added kind) for sure. Question: How many times in a day do you feed your dogs?
Thanks again!
Thanks so much for sharing and posting this and sharing Ali with us omg thank God
Thank you so much my dogs kibble is sooo boring and she was getting sick of plain kibble 😊
Always love your vids girl thank so for all the good ideas:)
Of course! Thank you for watching!!
Everything about this video is great except for the Purina part... Fun fact: Purina is owned by Nestle who also happens to own the highest number of Veterinary clinics in the US. Just let that sink in for a moment. Everything about Purina is terrible, from the ingredients to the sketchy sourcing of the ingredients they use, to the high temp cooking process and all the filler and carbs. The rest of this video is all very good information, but the foundation kibble sorta ruins the wonderful intent.
What dog food do you recommend for adults and or puppies?
@@nicoditondo8325 Raw is always best, but if you have to go the kibble route the best out there right now is probably Carna4. Best ingredients, great sourcing, and no synthetic vitamins. You can find more info about them here on youtube. If synthetic free is just too expensive I would possibly take a look at Farmina or Nutrisource. They at least are not owned by the mega corporations and seem to have good practices.
@@nicoditondo8325 Bosch! One of the cleanest lables, coming from a company that only does dog food, and is not owned by a big corporation.
Mars Petcare, part of the Mars Candy company, leads the way. Mars owns 41 brands which include: Evo, Cesar, Eukanuba, IAMS, Nutro, Pedigree and Royal Canin. They recently bought out Orijen and Acana. Mars also owns the largest chain of veterinary clinics and hospitals.
2. Nestlé Purina is a close second. They own 30 brands which include: Merrick, Alpo, Beneful, Beyond, Castor & Pollux, Chef Michael’s (who is a fictional person), Fancy Feast, Friskies, Purina and Zukes
You should consider Orijen kibble!! One of the best ones of the market and they use a lot
Of raw ingredients
Why this brand asking my dog same to be allergic to it
@@godseliteforever it’s one of the best brands of dry kibble you can get for your dog! It’s first 5 ingredients are raw meat, poultry, organs or fish.
It has a 38 percent crude protein percentage.
When you compare it to foods like Purina pro or blue Buffalo they use a lot of meat meals
@@WeenieMommi 💯!
We use that dog food too. Charlie prefers the chicken. But we buy the salmon for sensitivity most often. Thanks for the ideas
Of course!
What’s the name of the food
A recent study has shown that puppies raised on diets of 20% or more raw meat have stronger immune systems in adulthood! Introducing it to a dog almost always causes a slight reaction in their poop so don't worry if that happens but including those raw nuggets to puppies you want to keep or even all your puppies will serve them in adulthood:)
Just so you are aware, that isn't 2 "cups" of food in those bowls. A cup, as far as measuring dog food (or anything else), is an 8oz measuring cup like you would use to measure flour or sugar if you were baking. :)
how would you recommend weaning your dog to all of these combinations and mixtures?
i have a doodle, around 2 years old and I really would like to start putting her over to this kind of meal. i just don’t want to cause stomach aches, and diarrhea. have any recommendations? this was a wonderful video!
I've been giving my dogs a lot of food inrichment thanks to you for a while now. Some of his favorites are bone broth, coconut oil, freeze dried raw toppers, pumpkin, I'll buy wet food toopers sometimes and I love freezing some of the ingredients in little molds for added inrichment and he absolutely loves carrots. I'll also sometimes scrable an egg or make him home made dog food with ground turkey and other things. He also has a slow/puzzle feeder which also adds extra inrichment!
That is awesome!! Way to go!! You are rocking being a dog mom!
@@baileywilliams_ thank you! You're an incredible dog mom as well!
My dog loves scrambled egg. :) I do cook for her sometimes---meat (something I am eating) or scrambled egg, a veggie or two, yogurt.
All you dogs are super beautiful
Do you have any idea about shih tzu breed diet ?
My dog hates kibble so I am so glad you did this
I have a 4 month old Bichonpoo. I have been looking to add toppers to her meals to spice things up. She eats well for the most part, but lately we’ve noticed she hasn’t been feeding her meals completely. Would you recommend I wait until she’s a bit older? Or maybe start introducing different foods to her one by one and then start adding them to her dog food once she’s introduced to them?
I too recently switched to puro a pro plan. It’s working just fine for nooowwww 😅
I personally wouldn’t feed sardines or raw eggs, sardines (and I think oysters too) have an enzyme that inhibits thiamine absorption, possibly leading to thiamine deficiency. Raw egg whites also have an enzyme that inhibit biotin absorption, leading to skin and hair issues.
Everything you showed except the primal nuggets I give my dog but I make homemade 85/15 chop meat and veggies add the supplements but what kibble do you use again ?
What age you recommend to introduce toppers to your pup?
My dogs digest veggies much better if I grind them up first. They have hard time digesting while veggies
I just brought home a Labradoodle 10 week old puppy. They had him eating puppy chow. I switched him to Nutro recommended by my Vet for other dogs. Used pumpkin to switch him over. What type of Kibble are you feeding your dogs. I do not remember seeing that. Thank you. Very glad I found your channel.
She has purina pure plan I believe
Thank you so much for sharing! 💕
Do you only give them the toppers at dinner? And do they get them everyday?
Only at dinner!
I'm new to your channel but I love your content! Are your food choices breed specific? I previously had Chihuahuas, but now my husband and I are looking for a Chipoo. Would these toppers work?
These should work for any dog, just modify based on your dogs size, allergies, etc!
I definitely want to add some things to my dogs food, but he's only 5 months now and has such a sensitive tummy so I will wait ! Do you think doodles have a more sensitive stomach than other breeds? My dogs in the past could eat anything but my doodle pup is always getting diarrhea whenever he has a new treat so he's very spoiled and only gets homemade treats I make him so I know all the ingredients going into them ! Also, what kind of camera do you use ? the video quality is great !
I think puppies in general have pretty sensitive stomachs! Harlow had a super sensitive stomach as a puppy but Ellie doesn’t seem to as much! I always like to wait though until their stomach are a bit more developed before adding anything! & my camera is the sony a5100!
Saw your comment, a lot of doodles are sensitive to chicken for some reason.
quick question, are any of your dogs allergic to chicken? I heard a lot of goldendoodles could be allergic to them
What exact pro plan do you use? Trying to switch my doodle over to it.
Thx this helps a lot
Of course!
What about Doodles that need to loose weight? I use the Pro plan for weight loss , but I’m scared that all of this may add to many calories
Will chicken necks achieve the same goal as chicken feet with regards to dental care? Chicken feet are available but not so easy to find where I live.
Love this video ❤️❤️
Thank you ❤️
Great video!!
Thank you 🥰
Never heard of no eggs from grocery stores I've been using organic eggs from publix and Walmart with no problems and vet recommended what have you heard bad about them realy curious
My lab and weimi thrive on wallyworld eggs both raw and cooked. How about those prices, huh? Yikes. What blows my mind is every year I have to listen to the media warning not to feed turkey to dogs. WTF? My dogs are bird dogs....they LOVE turkey!
👍👍
Are the sardine skeletal bones a problem? I fed them to my Wheaten terrier, and tried to remove even the smallest bone just in case?
They can eat them without issue
Hii thank you for sharing this! Much appreciated!😁👍🏻 Could you recommend me a brush for de matting? Thank you!
A metal comb is the best for dematting!
@@baileywilliams_ Thank you!
I heard frozen strawberries help clean dogs teeth.
How old would you recommend to start giving food toppers? I have a 15 week old aussiedoodle and I hydrate her kibble with warm water, but that is it for right now.
Probably too late but it’s recommended to wait til they’re about 6 months for all the fun extra stuff. :)
Love this video! We do alot of the same toppers. My dogs love it! I've given chicken feet but not sure how often to give them (haven't researched that yet) How often do you give them?
It’s not really how often it’s more about how much to feed them as they can have them everyday if you want to feed them chicken feed everyday but you want to make sure your not feeding to much as this can cause things like constipation or way to hard stool
Normally just once a week - it’s a special treat for them!
They always recommending Purina...i switched and my dog broke out in rashes...SMH..Purina is filled with bad ingredients
Yay! So glad you did this video!! Do you cook the frozen vegetables or just give them frozen?
We do both!
@@baileywilliams_ ok thank you so much!
When it comes to food, we should never trust a vet.
Why ?
They get their license from big pet food company school, it's very simple.
So every time you ask what food ?
Their answer will be Hill's or Royal Canin or you guess it, Purina.
don't ever think about asking a vets what food and which brand, that's a big no.
asking people that work for honda, their answer will be honda.
asking someone from toyota, what car and which brands ?
the answer will be toyota.
by the end of the day you will find yourself asking yourself what am i doing ?
do your own research.
Btw you have a good brand there that you currently used in this video like Primal, you should just use all Primal.
There is a lot of very good brands nowadays.
Primal, stella & chewy's, the honest kitchen, grandma lucy's, ziwi peak, k9 natural, small batch, open farm, spot & tango, instinct, northwest natural, raw bistro, vital essentials, tiki, weruva, brand that offer high quality without time consuming.
Just scoop and served.
2020 till now where feeding something that isn't kibble really not a challenge or time consuming anymore.
The only down side that it comes with a premium price, but since you used primal, i believe cost is not an issue here.
Rather than kibble, try something like air dried from ziwi peak or sundays or absolute holistic.
but if you still prefer kibble, no matter what i want to only feed kibble kinda situation, the only brand that deserve our money and worth it is Carna4 kibble.
Try Carna4 instead.
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Couldn’t recommend this more!
Omg people dont understand that making your dogs food softer with water will make their teeth rot never put water in your dogs hard food
purina pro plan isnt a very good food
should look into tribal its amazing and you feed a lot less
Did you know their scammers out their showing dogs like your for sale and stealing people money and never sending the puppy after they say are.
We are one of them that got that and no puppy 🐶 and now their number won’t work and that was are only money we had for one and it was going to be a service dog for my mom seziers and Christmas 🎅 now we have nothing
Let people know what it really takes to get one and fly to them
Get rid of the kibble
Those dogs are probably so hungry waiting for their food-
She probably did it way before their feeding time-
since you know so many things about dogs just become a vetenarian
