This day means so much to me. My uncle Alejandro passed away from prostate cancer on June 1st 2011. He took me to Mets games for getting good grades in elementary school.
In a family of Yankees fans, only myself and my late uncle were Mets fans. So every June 1st following his passing, I attend the Mets game wherever they play. I was in the stands when Johan did this and I broke down in tears because it felt "otherworldly" what just occurred.
Happy to say I'll be attending the June 1st 2024 ceremony of Daryll Strawberry number retirement for yet again a tribute to my uncle Alejandro ❤
Watched this after a softball game with my dad. A memory I’ll always remember forever.

They didn’t show it in this video but I remember watching this game and the Cardinals technically did get a hit but it was called foul. If the replay rule existed today this would have not been a no hitter. Impressive non the less because it was against the WS champion Cardinals
