This is brilliant. I have always wanted to be a shoemaker and you have inspired me with your own shoes, keep up the great work and continue to inspire others with your art!
if u luv shoes and didn't enjoy this video I don't kno what to tell u other than ur probably a bandwagon hypebeast. This video was amazing. To watch a pair of shoes bein made by hand was cool. The production was great.
I really want to study the art or shoemaking; this looks like a really fun process. I would want to learn how to make something a little more simple like single material, breathable sneakers before i get into more intricate designs like this one. Great video!
Great work and so precise. I really love the background music. It makes the video very interesting. Could you please let me know the title and the artist of that track? Thank you.
I appreciate this video so much on so many levels for a number of different reasons. Tons of respect, Ferrato. I look forward to working on this level and maybe even with you on some killer shoes man.
this is one of the best videos I have ever watched on RUclips 👌 I have always wanted to learn how to make shoes/trainers. maybe I can find some one to teach me one day 👊
@@therealmvpee Thanks man but I'm 16 just like you, the only real advantage I might have is that I have developed some leather working skills, but other than that I'm just a 16 year old kid.
Thank you Jacob for this video it is indeed really helpful. Please what is the name of the sewing machine that you used to stitch the upper part of the sole to the sneakers. What is the name of the machine, the make and where can I find one? Please I will appreciate to read your response.
For everyone asking where to buy soles...I have seen them sold on Alibaba. I have also seen shoe sole molds on Aliexpress. There are people here on RUclips who use solvent to remove the upper from the sole. They sew their own uppers and reglue them to the sole.
Where did you get the foam and wooden shoe to nail the upper into from, and what are they called? Please reply back, I'm making a shoe for a project and I've never done it before.
hey brother. Could you maybe recommend a machine that can pierce the leather. how did u sew the soles at the end what equipment do you use. the one I have isnt strong enough it seems.
Jacob... Where have you buy soles? I know that Chinese produce this but I don't want to buy a hundreds of them. I need maybe four/five pairs like that...white or black.
this is late but there is usually an extra piece of material layered on to the bottom of the sole before laying down the rubber sole. just pick up any shoe/sneaker you own and take a look under the insole that material holds everything together.
yes if they are not from Nike factory they are fake af even tho everything can be the same might have better material im some cases but they would still be considered fake
its better than what jordan brand is making.9 ties out of 10 you are getting a 1 of 1 custom shoe no one else will be wearing. we also make the shoe fit better than the original.
Hi i love the art of shoe making and am in college right now...i was wondering of you could make a video of you making a shoe from start to finish and step by step explain what you are doing and why you are doing what you are doing it. It could be like a "series" so the video wouldn't be super long but rather the videos numbered and come out at different times. Again, i love what you do and would love a response because ive been searching RUclips for something like this for years and this was just amazing:D ~Thanks:)
i don't think he's gonna do it. I would love if he were to do it as well but it would be to revealing because everyone will start making shoes and he is not gonna make money.
Hi JBF, I really appreciate your skill man, it's insane! I have an old pair of Puma's, nothing fancy. I just want to reglue the soles but I don't know what the best type of glue is and if I need a sole press to make sure they stay bonded?! Would you be willing to offer some advice? Thanks Dorian
they are margom soles its a very generic sole many shoe company use. he bought them. i think you can get them from brooyklyn shoe space. happy designing!!
This is awesome. I like that you stitched the sole to the upper. I worked in two shoe factories for a total of 5 years, so I'm familiar with the processes, but I've never seen them done on a small scale like this before, and with one person doing every operation. In a shoe factory, one person usually only does one operation all day long, or sometimes two or three, depending on the workload. And entire rooms are dedicated to subsets of operations, such as the cutting room for cutting the hides into the individual pieces for the upper; the stitching room where ladies on sewing machines stitch the uppers together; the making room where the soles are attached to the uppers and finished (lots of finishing work with e.g., traditional leather soles).
Yes, you can buy soles wholesale. Lots of shoe manufacturers buy soles from another company rather than making their own. For example, you'll see Vibram brand soles on shoes and boots from a lot of different shoe manufacturers. Making shoes is a very labor-intensive process though, which is why most shoes today are made in countries which have very cheap labor, such as China, Vietnam, Indonesia, etc.
But the question is. Where I buy soles on pairs. Not too much. Maybe five. All company sells soles more than 500. I don't need so much. I'm still looking: soles or wafles and white rubber tape to around the upper.
Hola man. Very good video and very good pair you have made. I am a shoemaker wannabe, trying to learn and make my own shoes. I even have made for friends and family, my brother bought me 3 pairs of boots and a pair of sneakers and they are still rolling haha. Keep on, my friend!
people like this deserve so much more credit
Nice work how did you get started making shoes? And where did you get your materials from

Great work, I saw an interview with you recently. Do you use a post bed to sew the sole on? If so how do you get to the toe area?
@jacob feratto beautiful work what do your shoes start at price wise
any possibility of doing workshops?

Where did you get the foam and wooden shoe to nail the upper into from, and what are they called? Please reply back, I'm making a shoe for a project and I've never done it before.

Sounds good. How much for a pair? What sizes? If you can write to me on e-mail: s.makowski.101@gmail.com
