My generic over did party is knight archer cleric mage.
But my cheese was leveling up the mage first with horseshoes, master water magic for town portal Lloyd's beacon and just have the cleric work on day of the gods light magic for increased stats.
I would win a bunch of pyramids from the circus like 20 at a time take it to the three desert tents save the game and exchange for weapons armors items until perfection. It takes a couple of hours but you will have perfect everything without even doing one quest where you have to kill anybody. I played this game once a year since it came out until Windows 10 wouldn't let me
great explanation on the game mechanic, tq
Been a while since I played MM6. I mostly remember it being very long and by the end game (about 80% completion) my party was so overpowered the game got boring and I just wanted it to be over. I think blasters are the nail in the coffin of challenge. I didn't do any min-maxing. In fact, my party was very standard knight, archer, sorcerer, cleric with the most obvious weapons - sword, bow/dagger, staff and mace. So while there is definitely some optimization that can be done, it's not necessary. MM7 was a lot more challenging, particularly early on, because it was less obvious where to go. In MM6 you start at one side of the map and work your way across, while iirc in MM7 you had more options, which meant you could easily stumble into trouble.
mm6 is an iconic game of my life, took off a lot of things in terms of gaming concept, wonderful world. thx for making this video. full of labour and effort.
I think zero recovery bows are pretty neat. It requires the grey face patch, but in my very informal testing, I found that level 60 Bows of the Dragon out perform blasters. Just ignore that blasters only take 9 skill points to be as good as the bows!
A couple of notes, plate can be mastered at 4 right after the hero quest. Saves a ton of skill points. Also, I'm not sure exactly how it works, but dual wielding in turn based made seems like it caps the recovery rate. I get way more attacks off relative to enemy attacks in turn based vs real time. I didn't install greyface.
I didn't factor in turn based mode as I don't really like to use it and its really slow and limited in combat because you cant move in turn based
Why sword C tier, when every effective melee weapon combo includes sword in left hand?
How did you mod the skill/ skill availability?
The power of fighting with two weapons lies in the summation of skills. if you have 16 in the axe and 15 in the sword, the game calculates, for example, the damage bonus as +31 and not as +16. It is cheaper in skill points to upgrade two weapons to 16 and 15 than to upgrade one to 31. This is the meaning and profitability of fighting with two weapons - you have a strong attack of +31 and at the same time you have some free points to use for other skills, and there are a lot of skills to develop in this game.
Damage bonus is calculated from right hand weapon
by patched you mean the grayface patch? So the gog version is the original, unpatched?
I mean any official version of the game, not any fanmade patches
Gog version is pached. There is no way to play on modern Windows without this patch
So how do you like the game?
