AWESOME.........AWESOME one of New Zealand's best right up there with the All Blacks.....................saw them live at lest 4 time in the 80's .Top live gig band. Would still go and see them
In the early 80s NZ Herald ran an Article in the Papers listing All NZ Colleges performance results. Tangaroa & Hillary Colleges in Otara were the lowest performing colleges in the country. It wasn't long after that article. Herbs announced they were playing at our schools. I went to TC. My brother & sister went to HC . Herb's played for the students at both colleges free of charge. They said they wanted to give back to the community, & who knows, possibly inspire. I remember Charlie saying that there is nothing you can't do if you really want to. Enjoy the show.
I remember them playing in our school hall couple of times, in the early 80s, during lunch time..........always at the front, proud of Spencer (guitarist), only Tongan member of Herbs), that's Ponsonby/Grey Lynn back in the days,
I grew up around these guys in Glen innes use to live across the road from them and went to glenninnes primary school with the the bass players son awesome group too still pump there songs in MA car tuuuuumeke
Wow mean alrite Herbs tautoko hard but geez dat was a mighty long time ago why am i just seeing it now ay? Yo da best of Aotearoa!!! forever & ever Amene
Wasn't just the rasta thing going on. The Labour govt via Rogernomics had gutted the East Coast economy. Tbh its never recovered. Now theres a meth problem
The community of Ruatoria are a unique indigenous people cherished throughout Aotearoa. Mainstream Media have always got it wrong when it comes to telling the truth about anything relating to Tangata Whenua. Get it right Mainstream. Or just keep quiet.
