Affirmative, it was a concise video, not an "everyman's" video. Like a kiddie in a sandbox showing off his new toy to classmates, rather than an adult engineer exhibiting a comprehensive exposé of the item for the discerning. Especially as there is a "sales point" referendum with these videos!
Gosh, I thought he was going to break the micrometer in half trying to open the plastic packaging! I figure these micrometers are well made and most likely pretty tough, but if I just plucked down $200.00+ > $300.00 bucks for a brand new digital micrometer, I'd be a bit more gentle with it just trying to get it out of the plastic! I like idea that it opens and closes faster, but for a backyard mech who needs a micrometer once in a blue moon, is it worth the extra money? Not for me, but if money were not a factor, I'd try a slice of that pie.
This mic is so much better than the digimatic standard. Clearly faster but it has a super fine ratchet thimble paired with the super fast travel which results in extremely repeatable fast measurements. The speed actually aids in repeatability because the thimble works so perfect with it. I am upgrading my 1-4” set to these I just need the 1” and 2”. My digimatics will be backups or I will sell. Best mic I’ve ever used. Save time measuring and it adds up. Not just getting the mic in range but in the actual measurements taken. With all this it also makes one handed measurements much much easier.
"which everyone knows is our Quantumike" thanks yeah my dog knew that apparently but i didn't. kinda rude to assume everyone knows what some random string of numbers means. okay so the dial spins faster. it looks like the money in my bank is disappearing faster too.
The whole presentation style of this video is rather poor in several areas including the assumption that you pointed out. I'm interested to try one of these quantumikes
The 293-185-30 has no data-output. Something you could have found out easily by googling before asking, but instead are now getting answered by a stranger on the internet one year later. You’re welcome.
Disappointed, would thought the SPC Output explained and demonstrated, Try having an Mitutoyo Micrometer Engineer do the demonstrations next time.

This info is really nice to know, first-hand experience is always gold. Helping to be a persuader in any future decision to acquire this mic.😎
Just bought a 0-1 to try out love them about to buy 1-2 next

What's the difference between this and the 185 ?

I found out. But thanks anyways :).
