3" height is great for lawn turf fescue as well, so the cattle are doing a great job mowing.

I have tall fescue in my pasture. Along with perennial ryegrass. Red clover some bluegrass and a johnsongrass stand along the fence that sneaking over from my neighbors. The cows hardly ever if ever touch the tall fescue. The eat around it.

It's probably a wild variety with high silica content. Horses might like it.
