This is the video that I need for starting my undergraduate journey and I have continuously searched for this video overall on the internet. I requested some of the people to make this but no one make a video on this. A HUGE THANKS from my side for this video. And through your guidance, I think I can get admitted to an Ivy League University😊❤👍
This app was very helpful. And there is not so much time till I finish IAL so these videos are a lifesaver. Would love to see the Common App video because these are the only sources helping me.
Thank you so much for your help! I truly appreciate it. I'm currently studying at a college in Malaysia and will be applying to schools in the U.S. soon. This channel has been incredibly supportive and helpful throughout my journey😍🥰😍
My favorite breakfast is anything that has rice in it! Thank you for making this guide and it’d would be really a great help if you will make the guide for Common App for both first year and transfer students!
Hi Saloni! You are making great content and it is really helpful. I just have a small question about the CSS profile. What do you fill in for the currency of your parents' income if your parents earn in different currencies?
This video cleared my all doubt related to financial aid The way of delivering information is very good of yours Thank you for giving us this information ☺️
👍👍 Nice thumbnail and the video was awesome like all your previous videos but i have a query obout the session of applying to colleges is same with 12th or next to 12th board exam. 🙏 Please solve my query and a video on AP exams was really helpful for us, so think about it.
If you are applying this month that means you are applying for Fall 2023, you should have just entered 12th standard.. If you apply after finishing 12th or just finishing 12th or just gave 12th board exams - you will be considered to be in a gap year! and yes AP exams are something that universities look at, could be an interesting topic for a video!
Hey saloni, I am an Indian.First of all thank you for the series. I'm loving it. I made an account of css profile. But I am little bit confused. If my parents are married do they also have to make an account or just it's for non-custodial parents?
Thanks very much for clearing this topic. I was worried about this because there are no one around me who have experienced it. I have find everything on my own😥
Hey Saloni Your efforts for helping people all over the globe is amazing. I just have a question that what to fill in the tax portion of CSS profile if our parent's income is non taxable income due to low level of income and thus they doesn't have to file income tax returns ?
Hi saloni. Recently got to gain info regarding admissions abroad and your videos were super helpful. Just wanted to know if CSS profile is needed for students planning for pursue masters and what are the ways people can also get financial aid for masters students?
Nope, masters are not eligible for need-based aid via CSS, they will have to fund their studies through RAs and TAs, in most cases if you choose the thesis route for masters, you will be paid a monthly stipend to cover atleast the living expenses. Again, some masters programs might have merit based scholarships!
Hello Saloni, I am a domestic student with international transcripts but I still watch your videos because they are so insightful and helpful, thank you for all the work you put into the videos. My question would be if I could apply to the CSS profile or not? Also, my favorite breakfast is anything sweet, my top choice is cereal and then french toast
Yes you’ll need to apply for css- but in addition to that if you are a US citizen, you will need to fill out the fafsa application too! Good luck! And check out the scholarship consult for any one on one help
Hi Saloni. Great channel with amazing content. I have a question. Can I fill up the CSS profile for a graduate course showing only my income and none of my parents?
Great video! I have one particular question. I live in Argentina, and we are currently on a huge economical crisis (they're becoming quite common, actually) and there are a lot of restrictions for currence exchange, and there are many different exchange rates, for example the National Bank dollar is 200 pesos, but if you do exchange at a bank, you have to pay a 100% tax so it's 400 pesos (but you can only buy 200 dollars each month). The free dollar (which is technically illegal, but mostly used to consider the exchange rate) is around 375 pesos. To sum up, there are around 40 very different exchange rates with more than a 100% difference between one another. This doesn't happen in a normal country, do you think they will take that into consideration? Which rate do you think they'll use? Because if they use the official rate, it's really not useful, because if my parents need to send me money, they will have to pay around the double. Also, we have a really high inflation (around 100%), so my family's incomes were around 5000 dollars 5 years ago, but now they are around 500 dollars, even though (hopefully) our lifestlye hasn't changed that much. My point is that you cannot predict how much they will earn in dollars, because with inflation, different salaries rages and all the dollar situation. And, therefore, you cannot estimate how much they will be able to help me with college. Do they take these situations in mind? Can I clarify this somewhere? Thank you for reading... like your video it was also quite long 😁
from what i gathered, i just want to remind you that the information you fill in the CSS won't be in dollars, it will be in your own currency, after which each university will probably have their own formula that financial aid officers use so it's very hard for us to estimate :)
ıt was a great help and also the best video in it's kind. you walked us through step by step during this stressful process of filling the css profile. favorite btkfs is hard boiled eggs and hashbrowns!!!!thanks from Turkey
Hi! Thank you very much for posting this video at a right time 😁 I have 2 questions… I understand that we have to provide the information from our tax returns for the year 2020… it asks for ‘Current Amount in Cash, savings…’ Do we have to provide that of today or is it the closing balance of the financial years ended in 2020? The other question is about ‘Parents Other Real Estate Details’… again same do we have to provide the details till the end of financial year 2020 or we should include whatever was purchased till date (August 2022). Thank you!
My parents are farmers and we really dont have any income tax documents, to be honest we really don't deal much with the banks. everything is done in cash out here and our income is not even any close to 6 or 7 lakhs a year, hardly ever we might have made such a lump of money and the outcomes keep changing on the basis of crop and yield so i really cant do much.
There is an option for farming as an occupation in CSS where you can enter these details as well, it's free to create an account so definitely explore it!
Hello. Thank you a lot for the video! I was searching for the guidance in the field of reporting parents’ official income statements. The thing is that my dad’s income is totally unofficial. Basically, he gets most of the salary by cash, it work like some sort of tips. And the documentation from his works says that the official income of his is literally 100$ per month, which is, of course, ridiculous. Indeed, it works this way, so his company wouldn’t pay taxes for the real salaries of employees. Neither my dad nor I even know the precise numbers of the actual income. As a first-year student, I’m totally confused. What do I do it this case? Should I mention it in the additional information section or something?
Thank you sis for this video that is what I need I have a question. What can I do if I am the one who spends on the house?
