    Really wanted a g63 but Porsche seems to be the only reliable turbo manufacturer. I went with a 2016 g550. Just wish the g55 was still available in facelift. I had an e55 and it was problem free all the way until I sold it at 188k miles

    • @djzaki
      @djzaki  4 дня назад

      @@stlswagger what model year was the e55. Yeah to be honest I'm not sure I'll ever buy another Mercedes. The AMG gt looks so nice, but I'd rather get the uglier g80 m3 for the sake of a more reliable engine.
      Mercedes used to be top notch.

    Pretty cool to get it from a tv star, even a d-list celeb. I've wanted one of these for a long time, but definitely scary seeing the oil leaks wreaking havoc. Would really prefer a 63 over the 550 just for the extra power. Honestly surprised to see this much wrong with it.

      Yeah looking back I would've gone the g550 route like a 13-15 model non turbo. I have pages of work done by mercedes from the previous owner but it still wasn't enough. Going to take apart the turbos nex month. Hoping it's just gaskets and hosing

Just to avoid visiting the dealership all the time 😅

      The best model to own is definitely a 2013-2015 naturally aspirated g wagon no g63! The fact that those engines don't have turbos means they are rock solid reliable. My g63 has had a lot of issues with seals and plastic parts because the heat from the turbo engine output puts strain on every plastic part

    I like the 2015-17 G63 but I know it's a flaming turd of a vehicle. Mercedes designs them to fail and need constant maintenance. Smart money buys LEXUS. An LX570 will give you years of trouble free reliability.

    • @djzaki
      @djzaki  Год назад +2

      The 13-18 doesn't change except for the Navi. My daily driver is a lexus hahah. There's no way I could drive the g everyday. The maintenance is too much. Open heart surgery to do anything on it.
      But with that being said, it is the best offroader compared to an lx. It's twice as fast as well. Arguably has a lot more road presence.
      But I do agree the lx is tremendously more reliable if it were to be a daily driven car

      @@sultankuto8724 No I have not.. however I have owned a 350SDL and I loved it so much, my ex-girl stole it from me when I broke up with her. She ended up paying me for it but the reason I agreed is because that engine has an issue with rods bending and warping the cylinder head, eventually leading to engine failure. That same 350diesel engine was used in the w140 S class and likely that G350 diesel. The 300 Diesel 6 cylinder in 1986 & 1987 did not have that issue. I currently have a 1987 300SDL that I have been working on as my project. It had some unwanted tenants in the dashboard when I purchased it cheap.
