      @Frank White Huh? G Wagons have been popular and have held their values pretty well for the past 20+ years! Especially compared to the Land Rover Range Rover, Porsche Cayenne, BMW X5/X6, Cadillac Escalade, etc.

    The biggest thing I'd recommend looking for is rust under the windshield and door hinges. Other things I'd recommend looking for are oil leaks primarily at the sites of the turbos. These engines are notorious for poorly built turbos. If you test drive one go pedal to the metal to feel if there's any weaknesses in either boost or vacuum lines.
    Along with the myriad of leaks from valve covers and the oil pan gaskets. I've owned my g63 for almost three years now. Ive been able to do a lot of work on my own with a friend to save money.
    I think this is where and why he recommends under 40k miles. I bought mine with 50k and have had to do a lot of work on the engine. It can really take away from the experience of the car. Nonetheless i also went for a 13 because it was a bargain! Purchased ours for around 77k a little more than 80 after taxes.
    Currently have it with some offroad tires and a two inch lift! Wouldnt recommend the lift for anyone trying to resell it brcause you wont see that money back. But, if you do keep it, it looks stellar

    I would love to hear what you’ll have to say about the mid-engine vanquish they have coming out soon and the “cheaper” med-engine Ferrari 296 I think only starting around 250k

    This whole "driving a car for free" assumes you can either do the repairs yourself (and get wholesale for parts) or you just get lucky by barely putting any miles on the car. Hardly a good bet when we talking German badge engineering. There is no "hacking" when it comes to cars like these if you want to keep it real. Its more like playing Russian roulette. But I guess giving hope to broke dreamers is better youtube content then just flat out saying you can't afford it when it comes to the purchase price, insurance, gas, repairs, maintenance, etc.

    I am in the market for 2019+ g 63 amg as I don’t like the pre 2019 g wagons due to many factors. Can you do some content on the 2019-2023 g63 amgs? Or should I just plan on buying a new 2023 or 2024 due to resale msrp being so much higher than original msrp?

    Question: all the dealers in my area are pricing new G-Wagons at 50-100% over msrp, even 2020-2023 used wagons are selling above their original msrp. I have someone that will let me order a new build at msrp. Would it be a good idea to get a brand new wagon at msrp and sell it in my area assuming these above market rates continue? Not really looking to sell it 50-100% over like the dealers, was thinking selling below that but more than what I paid for a decent profit.

    What year was this video made because the mileage doesn’t make any sense at least not in California you’re not gonna find a G wagon with 30,000 miles from 2016. This is just a luxury car so people will put 12,000 miles a year on them easily.

      This video was 6 months ago. You just have to scroll up. They are definitely out there with lower mileage. I just googled some online and found 3 for sale with less than 40k.

    I looked at teo difft 2017 G63s and one 2018 G63... all had at least 1 rust spot. Did i just have bad luck? Supposedly no repaint at all on any.

      @s4awd2 11 месяцев назад +1

      I bought my 2018 new back in 2017. I did see rust on a few used examples but I leave mine outside due to the fact that it can’t fit in my low garage. I think that due to it airing outside all the time I haven’t had any rust at all. Plenty of owners wash their cars w power washers and tuck them away in a garage where the moisture never leaves and rust becomes a problem.

      I think you mean 13-15 miles per gallon on premium if you are lucky. Its crazy how it doesn't matter what engine they have v8 NA, v8 turbo, v12 turbo they all get the same crappy mpg. I wish you could bring old diesel ones to California but there is a blanket ban regardless of age of vehicle. Would have loved to mess around with biodiesel.
