Some MacBooks DO NOT have the option to set up without internet, so this will NOT work for all MacBooks, it didn’t work for me as there’s no way for me to set up without internet, there’s no “My computer does not connect to the internet” option. Should have said this at the beginning of the video 😢
Just did this today 10/20/2024 on a 2019 i9 16 inch MBP T2 Chip. In my case You do not need to buy anything, once you reboot and use the Terminal to disable the activation lock @5:08 you should be good my Mac is currently on Catalina OS

I am trying to dual boot my M1 MacBook Pro. One OS being my personal OS (MDM bypassed) and the other being my work OS (MDM managed). Would the MDM bypass affect both OSes or just my personal-use one? Can the company detect that I do not have SIP enabled?

I assume the restorers didn’t completely remove it as it automatically installed it back when I updated the Mac OS and it rendered my Mac to essentially an ornament and I was past my warranty. I pretty much gave up as it appeared that there was nothing I could do about it but 3 months later (today) I done a bit more research and gave this a bash and to my surprise it worked. I’m still gonna get a new Mac (M2 or M1 14inch) but now I can wait a few months for the Black Friday sales maybe and perhaps get a decent deal as opposed to being forced to buy a new laptop now. So thanks very much I now have a working laptop again for University work and I don’t need to use my iPad with a keyboard now as my daily 🤣😁 The iPad pro is a great machine for creative work but it’s not great as a laptop replacement

I only need to factory reset my MacBook Air before sending it back to my company as I have forgotten to uninstall some private software I have used over the last 2 years but I can even do that. Is there any known way to go around the MDM lock temporarily for me to factory reset ? I don’t mind if it’s install’s itself again but would love to remove my personal data before sending it back. Any chance to do that without much hassle and is there anywhere instructions how to do that?

@@bbgbrayden i got to solve the situation in a weird way. I downloaded an older version of MacOS, don't remember which, and tried to change the password normally. Usually it shouldn't let me, but for some reason entering and getting out it went my way. I changed the password, enter the user, create another one and deleted the first one. I think i downgraded to mac high sierra
This tutorial is contradictory, because in the video your mac is connected to wifi all the time! To turn off the SIP it is necessary to log in to the wifi I tried to do it on a mac m1 and it doesn't work if I don't connect the wifi. :(
