Kelowna is a rich retirement city.
That's a smart move - gasoline is expensive. Tour group is cheaper. But I was traveling alone. May be a family can traveled together, especially if no need to rent a car and you can stop at wherever you like. But driving needs concentration and is tough to take in the nature and the houses, etc. on the road side. So, it is tough to say which way is better, driving or join a tour. Just over 10 years ago, I joined Super Vacations and went through a similar 4-day tour ended at Jasper Columbia Icefield (stopped at Salmon Arm, Kamloops, Lake Louise, Banff, Kelowna, etc.) The tour group went to a lot of Chinese restaurants but not all are buffet. Many have soup plus several dishes vegetables, meat, etc. The only thing is meal only get around 1 hour or less... Eating with the group save time to have a few minutes to look around and snap some pictures. They also took us to winery and many Chinese from China bought ice wine. However, that tour group also has many Chinese from US, from Canada as well. We also stopped at a ginseng factory, a bee farm, and fruit stand. I suspect the tour company or tour guide gets a commission if the tour participants purchase some food. I appreciate you sharing your tour video! It brings back good memories from my trip. I need to visit again one day! The way you've visited the local restaurants, and checked out the local scenes is really good too.
