Comparisons will always be there. Both r Great Singers. Every singer has his own time. During this time Rafi Sahab was King in 50s and 60s. Even Kishore da was not a complete singer at that time but with his hudling he did something to be compared with Rafi Sahab. But then late 60s and 70s till late 80s Kishore da was magical singer. Even without classical knowledge, he sang magical not even classically trained singer still can sing like Kishore da because it’s the feel. Rafi sahab was undisputed King, a great singer and great man but Kishore da was magical. We should all feel proud to hv theses singers in our country.
during our boyhood , we srilankans watched this fantastic film where super actor SHASHI KAPOOR stared as the only lawful son who was deprived of his mother and his wealth by some tyrants . but later on SHASHI owned all that . still that sweet song is lingering in our minds.

Rafi Saab was like a 4x4 vehicle which could drive with ease on any ground, be it a motorways, hills, uneven roads, mountains etc. I don't think that there is any song that he could not have sang although I agree that some songs suited other styles more than his, but we would not have noticed it. Can we say the same thing with any other singer? Rafi was a veteran in the 70's. If we were to rate all male singers from 1 to 3 from 1950 to 1980 (his career span), Rafi will be in the best 3 every year not forgetting that he would have been No 1 many many times. We cannot say the same thing with any other singers. This is why I see Rafi Saab standing on the highest platform where other singers can only look up at him. With all respects to the others who I believe were good too.

This song was recorded first in Bengali and that was sung by kishore Kumar .After that this song was recorded again in Hindi which was sung by both of Rafi sahab and kishore Kumar and in both the cases music given by r d burman .So kishore Kumar did not copy rafi sahab , understand?

Even till date we didn't get such a romantic voice in male singing. ...he was in a class of his own and carried the utmost respect from ALL the singers around him.... Kishore said in one of his concerts (when Rafi had passed away )that Rafi was like a brother to him...he even started the Show with a Rafi song!!....its a pity some people lack vision!!!

We have listened to many great singers of the western world , but there was never been and there will never be in the future a voice and singer like Md Rafi. As Kavita Krishnamurty once said, " He could sing any song to perfection under the sun with effortless ease". Not only he could sing to perfection ,he possessed the most pleasant and soulful voice to express every emotion and mood.
The honourable and memorable late Shashi Kapoor Sahab, my ever best and the only evergreen actor of all time. I grew up watching his movies when i was a kid. the famous cinema theatres in Penang, Malaysia were Paramount and Royal Cinema theatres for hindi and tamil movies during the 1960s and 70s. His heartmelting looks and charming smiles will always be remembered by his fans (especially the ladies ; D ) and the and songs of smooth croonner the late Guru Mohamad Rafi will always be my favourite singer besides Kishore Kumar Ji.
This version of Rafi saab was orchestrated by Pyarelal of LP fame who was then RD's arranger. RD composed the song and delegated the arrangement to Pyarelal .

When Rafi Sahab sang this song-there was singing in it. Other version of it was an example of plain singing which doesn't arouse any feelings.

Rafi Saab was like a 4x4 vehicle which could drive with ease on any ground, be it a motorways, hills, uneven roads, mountains etc. I don't think that there is any song that he could not have sang although I agree that some songs suited other styles more than his, but we would not have noticed it. Can we say the same thing with any other singer? Rafi was a veteran in the 70's. If we were to rate all male singers from 1 to 3 from 1950 to 1980 (his career span), Rafi will be in the best 3 every year not forgetting that he would have been No 1 many many times. We cannot say the same thing with any other singers. This is why I see Rafi Saab standing on the highest platform where other singers can only look up at him. With all respects to the others who I believe were good too.

The honourable and memorable late Shashi Kapoor Sahab, my ever best and the only evergreen actor of all time. I grew up watching his movies when i was a kid. the famous cinema theatres in Penang, Malaysia were Paramount and Royal Cinema theatres for hindi and tamil movies during the 1960s and 70s. His heartmelting looks and charming smiles will always be remembered by his fans (especially the ladies ; D ) and the and songs of smooth croonner the late Guru Mohamad Rafi will always be my favourite singer besides Kishore Kumar Ji.
