  • Alanis Morissette is a renowned Canadian-American singer and songwriter recognized for her emotive mezzo-soprano vocals and candid songwriting. Born on June 1, 1974, she first emerged on the Canadian music scene during the early 1990s with two dance-pop albums. However, her pivotal moment arrived in 1995 with the release of "Jagged Little Pill," a distinctive alternative rock-infused album with traces of post-grunge. This iconic work achieved staggering global sales of over 33 million copies, catapulting her into the realms of cultural significance. The album secured the prestigious Grammy Award for Album of the Year in 1996 and was even adapted into a rock musical titled the same in 2017. Notably, the musical received fifteen Tony Award nominations, including the coveted Best Musical category. Furthermore, "Jagged Little Pill" found its place in Rolling Stone's esteemed "500 Greatest Albums of All Time" listings in both 2003 and 2020, with its lead single "You Oughta Know" also recognized at #103 in the "500 Greatest Songs of All Time."
Morissette continued her artistic journey with the release of the eagerly anticipated and innovative "Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie" in 1998, which featured experimental and electronic elements. Embracing creative control and production responsibilities, she pursued her musical path with subsequent studio albums: "Under Rug Swept" (2002), "So-Called Chaos" (2004), "Flavors of Entanglement" (2008), "Havoc and Bright Lights" (2012), and "Such Pretty Forks in the Road" (2020). Her most recent offering, "The Storm Before the Calm," introduced ambient music and saw its release in 2022.

Love how she gives this long thought out answers to questions to get responses like, “so it made you happy” & “that’s great” 🤣🤣🤣
