It’s SO important for you to pump or feed in the middle of the night. That not only effects your supply, it also gives him 20% of his calorie intake. Every 2-3 hours during the day with one 5 hour stretch at night. If you don’t want to wake him at night, I suggest to at least pump! Also 1-3 ounces from a pump is good output!

I have a 9 month old and he is 21 lbs and 30 inches. I dream feed him around 1 in the night and then 6 in the morning while he is sleeping and 4 additional feeds throughout the day.I make sure he never drinks less than 25 oz in 24 hours. Along with 3 meals and 2 snacks. He also had trouble gaining weight initially and the doctors said it was genetic but I was not convinced
I don’t think you need to wake baby for food if he has doubled his birth weight. Baby needs his uninterrupted sleep!

Idk anything about potty training yet, but I've been told many times (and anything Luke struggles with) that they will get there eventually. 👍You are doing an incredible job, and I am so happy you have more help/family now even for a little bit!❤

Girl, it may not seem like a lot that you are pumping but it is! I was only getting 1 oz. Per session. You are doing great and Jackson looks good! He doesn't look small he looks like a healthy baby. He is eating so well too. Keep up the good work and dont stress so much every baby is different 😊

You should pump in the mornings!! That’s when I see better results as the day goes by i get way less milk
I used to pumped in the morning when my daughter was like 3-4m because she was sleeping 4-5hrs so she skipped one feeding at night and my boobs were used to make the milk so i had extra.
Another thing could be to wake up 1hrs early that Jackson and pumped before feeding him.

My baby boy is also 9 months & the same weight 😫 so frustrating. My supply has definitely dropped & he’s never nursed for long each session to begin with. Have already been supplementing for a month so dr had us up the calories of the formula (less water + more formula, he gave us a sheet with the ratios). Also verrryy active + just started walking so dr said he’s probably burning a lot of cals too. You’re not alone! All we can do is try our best & our babies will be ok 💙
try pumping at least 15/20 minutes each side even if no milk is coming out, it’ll encourage more milk production! you got this mama!!!

If Jackson can drink from a straw you can also offer him those gogo squeez pouches. They are awesome because they have hidden veggies mixed with apple sauce. I like them because they're limited ingredients so no bad stuff.
Hi Kayla! I know you’ve done the trip a few times now to Miami. Do you have any updated tips on what has helped during those long trips? We have a long road trip from Chicago to Florida coming up for Thanksgiving. I have a 16-month-old who has obviously not been in the car much at all the past year so I’m dreading this long road trip.
Hey, cutie pie is good in the Pack'n'Play waiting for you to come get him and playing with whatever toys you left for him when he awakens. Good for Jackson. He's learning to entertain himself a bit. Love his hair and PJs. Good that Riley waits in her crib until someone gets her, too. Her hair we do not discuss because I am so envious. Striped big cats are tigers and they are the only cat that swims. Magnets in the belly would not be good, if they made it that far down the gullet without getting stuck. Pleased to hear Jackson's naps are extending. Even if he misses a nap here and there due to whatever reasons on certain days, it is a big deal that he is increasing his nap durations. The extra calories may help that. He will not awaken due to hunger as quickly. And it means he is getting used to his own naps being longer with only occasional exceptions. They all need snacks frequently. Their bellies just aren't big enough to tank-up for a period without food in it for energy the way ours are. With solid foods he's working on his pincer grip and chewing and having solid foods going through his digestive system, which his body expects at this point in his development. All liquidy stuff is not good. Not even for sick people: docs want to get people back on solids asap so that their intestinal workings do not get too messed-up. At this age, his leg and back muscles are strengthening, but probably not yet ready to walk, so don't press him on that. He will do it when he's ready. It's a dynamic process. It would happen if he were being raised by wolves in the woods. There would come a point where he'd be able to do it and he'd walk. It's important their bodies be ready to take on the new skill. He can use that push toy to help him get the gist of it. Thank God it's not one of those noisy ones that make you want to shoot it or yourself. LOL. The kids look like brother and sister, but they do not look alike. Age 3 is getting up there for not being potty-trained. Let's hope she gets past this dominatrix, mistress of the universe, boss lady phase. Like that "oh, no" from her and then you can see her try to work herself into a frenzy and there aren't even any tears. It's pure manipulation. By the way, I would not encourage Jackson to stand in anything functioning as a crib. Anywhere else is great and he will figure out the crib on his own. But the longer it is before he figures out how to try to escape, the better. From the look on his face, I could see he wasn't sure he was able to stand in the crib. He'll get over that, but don't fill him in on the possibility. It'll be soon enough. He'll realize his pulling himself up and climbing onto the sofa or chairs can be translated to his crib. It's a good thing that Riley let Mimi know it was bedtime, meaning she needed to sleep. It is a gift if you have children who can give in and tell you they are tired or need to go to bed when they are ready. Fighting it is never an easy battle. She can learn Spanish alongside English. Numbers and colors are a good start. But, she will not get confused. What is "Honest," the purveyor that sent you the box?
Hi I am a breast feeding mom and I just want to tell you for increasing milk supply you can drink fennel tea and also I find tahini and sesame very helpful and most importantly is to drink so much water or juice or milk any liquid. Wish you best😍

But my baby would noooot take powdered formula. She acted like it was the most repulsive thing in the world and how dare we offer such a subpar meal... anyway! She would only drink formula if it was the already mixed stuff (ready to feed so you don’t have to worry about adding water or mixing- you just shake it up). And she drank Similac Advance with no GI issues, though they also offer the sensitive stomach formula.
😄 You’re doing amazing!!! Every time I watch your videos, I get a little braver about possibly trying for a second little!
You can try giving him “liquidados” just make his formula like you normally would and try to add a little bit of fruit. See if he would take it like that. Hope it helps.
I’m pretty sure they tell you not to do this, but I used to mix breast milk with formula when I was trying to get Carson to drink it. He hated it too. I also found that the more expensive premixed formula he would take better, of course!
I have mixed breast milk and formula. I think it is ok to do so as long as they are the same temperature! Also my baby also likes the premixed formula better too!!

My now 3yr old's potty training was a disaster initially too😖 Had to make 3 attempts before succeeding and we thought it would never happen. She would ball her eyes out every time we tried putting her on the potty, but at 33 months we tried the timer method which worked brilliantly! It was very stressful and time consuming but Riley will get there when she's ready👍

Try power pumping. It helped my milk tremendously. It’s miserable doing it and you legit get so hungry while pumping but it boosts your milk supply sooo much.
Kids are weird sometimes, might not work but maybe try stirring the formula instead of shaking it. Might taste different? Also Jackson chewing on the remote brings back memories. My daughter ruined our fire stick remote because she always got ahold of it and would teeth on it 😂🤦🏼♀️

Any plans on switching Riley to a big girl bed? We literally JUST switched our almost 3 year old (October 20th) into a big bed and he hates it because it’s so open 😭 he literally gets up and sleeps in his little play tent that has a kid couch in it so I just ordered him a bed tent. Hoping that works !
Absolutely no plans on switching her yet lol I’ve got too much on my plate right now and she loves her crib! Hope that bed tent works! Sounds like a great idea!

Try adding a fruit baby food to the formula in the bottle. Banana baby food makes it taste better
Don’t be to hard on yourself he’s happy and healthy! My daughter Hallie weighed 16lb 5oz at 6 Months and then when she was teething refused to eat was I’ll and by the time she was 10 months old she was 13lb odd! I had no control over it she would spit up everything that went down! Xx
Jackson looks good don't worry about his weight...he seems to be doing good with mixing formula with food...you can mix dry formula with cereal before adding water in the so that way you can add mone formula and make sure he's eating everything..for example with 2 scoops of cereal add 3 scoops of formula then add water as needed instead of using mixed formula..just a tip ...that's what I do..

I think they’re super cute, but I’ve always liked pampers more. I feel like the pampers are a bit bigger and more absorbent but I never had a terrible experience with the honest ones

Don't you have to boil the water you use and then put the formula into the boiling water to sterilize? We are also starting our EBF daughter on formula and boiling the water is such a pain.

Try earths best organic gentle formula (blue can). It’s similar to gentlease but my daughter likes the taste much better. We just switched her at 8 months.

We tried that formula for our newborn and it tore his stomach up. He was so gassy and in pain. He went days without going to the bathroom too. Hope it works for y’all!

Try not to be so hard on yourself about the weight. You literally took it on board immediately and are trying lots of great things to fatten him up. He moves so much and has grown so he’s bound to not gain so much as he learns to move more. Keep up the good work trying lots of feeding options ❤️

My breastfed baby refused to take formula so I tried a bunch of different ones and she actually liked the Gerber formula. Supposedly it’s more similar to the taste of breast milk but I’m not sure if that’s true. If you’re still struggling maybe you can try it 😬

Have you considered power pumping. I just power pumped 3 nights in a row and my supply is back on track.
I’ve been pumping for like 10-20 mins at night but yes! I’m gunna start making that a power pumping session :)
Power pumping actually isn't recommended anymore as it causes tissue damage that can be irreversible
@@faithclemens4039 where did you get that information? I’d love to read about it since power pumping is something I’m currently implementing to increase my own supply.
@@radinabambina I got this information from an LIBCLC plus many LC's. Pumping for longer than 20 minutes at strong suction can cause breast tissue damage. I know of quite a few women who actually went through it.
It's not a guarantee it'll happen, but the damage is irreversible so it's really not worth the risk.
Have you tried the Dutch formulas like HiPP or Holle? They are much more healthier and taste much better than the American brands. You can try that and see if Jackson likes it better. Especially the Gentleease formulas, they tastes awful.

The problem with riley is that you are letting her decide what to do/when she wants to do it. You are the parent you should make the rules.
Eat a lot of lactation cookies, use ur elvie often to establish supply, use avacado, cashew nuts, banana in his food, give him melted butter all this will help to gain weight naturally
I had issues not producing enough breast milk and my baby's pediatrician told us to mix formula with breast milk. She said formula is salty and breast milk is supposed to be sweet. I mixed the two and my baby took it no problem. Hope this helps if you haven't already tried.
Is Jackson having strawberries yet?
You might want to try to eat more of foods that are high in good fats like avocadoes, chia seeds, flaxseeds, almonds, etc. to make your breastmilk fattier/creamier, which might help in Jackson's weight gain. You might also want to check-out Legendairy Milk supplements for increasing your supply and making your breastmilk fattier/creamier as well.😊

I would not worry too much about Jackson's weight. It is totally normal for some babies to drop weight when they become so active. Its not like babies have a ton of fat reserves. A baby will certainly let you know when they're hungry and if he was hungry at night, he would let you know. A malnourished baby would not have the kind of energy that Jackson has. You're doing an amazing job, mama. Be very selective with the advice (sometimes more like critiques) that you receive on here. Also- the amount that you are able to pump out, is not at all indicative of the amount that Jackson is able to nurse out. Kellymom.com is a great resource.

Hmmm I wonder if the US would go for Elternberatung (parent counseling). Switzerland has this and at 4 months you go to this place every week to have your child weighed. After the first year you go in once every 3 months, or if your child gets sick. All of this is free to parents. I guess this would be to socialistic for people, because the money comes from taxes. Switzerland being to socialist cracks me up because Switzerland is more capitalistic than the US. Switzerland is the 4th most capitalistic country in the world. The US is 11th or 12th most capitalistic country.
I forgot to say..... the first 3 months some states you get a midwife who comes and sees you 2x a week to weigh and measure your baby. This is paid through health insurance. Every woman who is of childbearing age pays more for health insurance because of all the perks you get when pregnant. If you dont have children that's to damn bad for you. The only way you dont pay more is if you can prove you had a hysterectomy.
We have something like this in Canada too and they encourage the parents to use the service right from the beginning.

If I may suggest to try European formula (Hipp or Holle) , you can order from beyondorganicbaby.com. My little one has been on Hipp since she was 6 months old and oh man what a difference. First of all, the taste is the same as breast milk. And secondly, the ingredients are better. Little Jackson probably is repulsed by the taste from Alimentum (I think that’s what I saw in your video) and I do not blame him! That stuff tastes awful lol...and it smells too. If you are interested explore Hipp and Holle online perhaps you’ll find it worth a try😘
Supplementing with formula will decrease your milk supply. If you let Jackson nurse more often, you will have an increase of milk. Try letting him nurse every 2 hours instead of every 3 or 4 hours. Pump 30 minutes after every time he eats. That is how I increased my milk supply. I hope this helps. Best wishes!! 💕💕
There was an episode that I watch of supernanny and potty training of a 3 year old I think , it will give u idea if u ready for such struggle
My niece also refused to go to the bathroom , but my sister played on the fact that she is socially mature and convinced her with time .
My other niece she just refused it totally until one day she decided she doesn't want diapers anymore and she never even peed in her clothes so ... It is a choice wether u go down that road or no and wether she is ready

Aw it upsets me that your doctor was giving you misinformation. Doctors use a weight chart consistent with formula fed babies, who are usually heavier because they are getting more calories. Your baby boy looks perfectly healthy to me and I’m sure your breastmilk is just fine!
