These flashbacks were better than the actual movie, hehehe… a shame that they practically ignored the first movies where all the street racers drove cheap imports, and here they drive muscle cars, which I don’t have a problem with, but at least they should have shown some sort of transition from muscles to imports, or at least a hint of it
Flashbacks takes place in LA during the late 80s to early 90s, as far as car scenes go, it was still domestics in that era, wasnt until the mid 1990s did imports become more widespread.
I was talking to Vinnie last night after making his new movie WHINA COOPER....very talented young man! I didn't know he had made other movies...he's going to go along way in his acting career...nga mea pai katoa mo nga ra kei mua Mr Vinnie Bennett.... kei te haere koe!!
This race is so... accurate because The Foxbody mustangs 🚗...🎠 didn't came with the rear control arms for handling. Thats probably why he was swerving with the Nos, Jacob could have won. They had the bolts set up if you ever bought them later on. That's why they stangs were so cheap, they wasted less $$$ money on the body and didn't came with certain auto parts. Because of this they were really light and easy to modify.
Plus the 5.0 foxbody mustang needs subframes. It's 2 metal bars underneath the chassis to make it stay firm and stable so it can shoot out right in the beginning of a drag start and probably to take the NOS shot and won't swerve. That was probably a 150 NOS shot and without the rear control arms and the subframes the handling was what made Jacob lose time to win.
That´s interesting, i was wondering why he lost control .. so i guess Dom had heavier and more still car to just shoot straight without losing it right?
@@johnysvkcoldjunction6902 Like the mustang should have won. Because it sounded like it had a super charger that was put in it. When they press on the gas and brake to stall it as they are reving it at the start line you can hear a drill sound. It sounds like the drill cleaner at the dentist.when you hear the loud motor sound along with that noise it's a super charger. Then Jacob he had the Nos to go along with it which will make it even faster. And Mustang has less of a body at that time which made it lighter than the typical muscle car. But that charger has a lot of horse power though stock, If you just put in the Nos it will compete with a light supercharged mustang with Nos in a 1/4 mile run.
@@johnysvkcoldjunction6902 So it's almost a close fight with both of them having those mods. The difference is that the Charger has a stronger chassis than a 5.0 foxbody when you buy it off of the dealership. You have to put the missing control arms on the rear and the Subframes on the mustang, it gets a better jump and handling when it shoots out, it increases performance in a drag. The only thing is that I'm not sure why Jacob didn't know this if he was already racing with the mustang? And this is nothing new they all had the same problem from 1979- 93? Unless this was his 1st car and he barely turned 17 or 18, didn't have as much knowledge as a kid?
@@oscarvillarreal8951 Yeah i was asking myself this as i read your replies because specifically Jakob was the talented mechanic in family and their father must teached lots of things about cars but this probably not for movie plot armor .. honestly i was suprised to see Foxbody in this franchise, i kinda expected some sort of charger vs charger or charger vs chevelle
So dope how they make so many movies about people and racing cars you know? I just wish they could do like uh I don't know maybe a Broadway Musical or just have a show in Vegas or something.
I'd like to they start making some prequels to FF, which would have as many car modifications and races as the first and second part, with no actions like in new ones... I think that an even cooler moment would be if young Brian would casually meet Dom somewhere, passing by or something, not knowing that in the future they will have way more in common. Such prequels could be also much more realistic, grittier, darker, and less family-friendly. I wouldn't mind some kind of a spin-off series to FF franchise that would have such vibes as well!
They should make a prequel. How Dom got the respect from the blacks, Asians, Mexicans on the race streets. Probably some illegal activities. Dom suiting up the charger but never driven it after he fully modify it. a side story of Young Brian O Conner street racing turning into a cop. The bad Business deal Dom did with the Asians. Young Jacob's side story. Dom moving out and hiding in Mexico and other places were he met Young Tego and Don Omar, probably young Han. Then coming back to Cali.
Hate to say it, but the Stock Race flashback at the beginning of Fast 9 was better than this flashback scene. I was greatly disappointed that they didn't use the Tuner cars with the Neon Lights underneath them. The Dom vs Jakob racing started out good, but that slow motion part towards the end wasn't necessary at all. It was too dramatic cause we already knew that Dom was going to win the race. It was great to see the original crew from the first movie like Vince and Jesse, but Leon is still missing after 20 years. Some people forget that Leon also drove a yellow Nissan Skyline during the first movie. He might surprise us and show up at the beginning of Fast and Furious 10, when Dom and the crew are at Race Wars. The writers didn't know it, but they gave us a sneak peek of The Fast and The Furious prequel movie. Hopefully well be able to see one in either 2027 or 2029
Bruh the tuners with neon didn’t become a trend until the mid 90s. This race most likely took place in the 80s of course there wouldn’t be tuners. The good ones weren’t even legal in the states like the r32. One of the more memorable ones would be the Datsun fairlady z but that’s even older
Vince and Jesse both will be resurrected by Mr. Nobody in FX just like Mr. Nobody did with Han in F9! Leon and Hector will both have to return in FX! Dom’s originally crew from first and the fourth sequels will all have to return in FX! There will be a sneak peek of The Fast and the Furious prequel/spin-off between the Toretto family that will be a wonderful prequel/spin-off movie!
So, if we wanna go on based on what is shown here I can tell you as to why you are wrong about the tuner scene aspect. We gonna go off of the beginning of the scene where dom gets out. The song “Appetite for destruction” By N.W.A. Plays. So that gives the assumption it’s 1991. Therefore the events prior happened say early 91 late 90. Leon showing up in the movie with his skyline makes zero sense. R33 GTR’s started production in 95. A R32 would make sense but a high school aged kid with a Japanese import? Doesn’t make sense don’t it? And the rise of the tuner cars didn’t happen till many years later. People can fact check me on this but need I say more?
Dom gets out of jail to confront Jakob about their father and challenges Jakob into a raise the stakes race and if Jakob wins Jakob comes back home and if Jakob loses we’ll then Jakob has to leave and never came back!
Nobody is gonna talk about the fact that Dom in the first movie said that he had never driven the Charger before? And that when he got on pursuit of Brian that was his actual first time with the Charger? Because he said he was always afraid of it..?
we all just need a prequel like this scene but a full story of what happened before Fast and furious 1. that would be the best loop into the series after they conclude the saga
Funny? In the first one dom never talks about how his brother killed their father to Brian but instead tells him a guy named Kenny something put your dad up against the wall doing a 100 mph. You watch your dad burn to death. No brother at all.
Of course, they retconned it but would you tell a relative stranger that your estranged brother who you've not seen in 10 years probably had a hand in it?
No, that’s not true! Jakob didn’t kill their father! The person who killed their father was Kenny Linder is by clipping his car 🚗 and his car 🚗 exploded
@@kaze7005 it was the The Toretto family’s enemy Kenny Linder has clipped the car 🚗 that exploded was their father inside but he wasn’t in there and that is the reason why that Dom and Jakob have been falling apart and been estranged from each other since the passing of their father!

The young Dom look old as hell lol
Jakob's retro Ford Mustang is brilliant.
After this Jacob started hitting the gym and went to Florida Championship wrestling
LOL 😂😂😂😂
I would like to see that spin-off movie!!
Jakob spin-off movie 🎥🍿 will be happening in the future
the music back then and the music in the present era really summarise the decline of human evolution
Some big brother you are dom, some big brother.
It’s very impressive how they cast two actors who looks almost like vin and cena, thats what it surprised me when it came out in theaters
They look nothing like them.
@@axx012they at the very least all have the same vibes as the OG cast back in Fast 1
To sound N.W.A appetit for destruction and movie is beautiful 🤩
Is that the guy who plays Micheal in the peaky blinders ?
Yes
These flashbacks were better than the actual movie, hehehe… a shame that they practically ignored the first movies where all the street racers drove cheap imports, and here they drive muscle cars, which I don’t have a problem with, but at least they should have shown some sort of transition from muscles to imports, or at least a hint of it
Flashbacks takes place in LA during the late 80s to early 90s, as far as car scenes go, it was still domestics in that era, wasnt until the mid 1990s did imports become more widespread.
When you see Michael in the peaky blinders but the Movie is a fast and furious
I love how LA just doesn't change for decades on end
2:25 that really does look like young vin diesel right there
This shows that a fast and a furious movie can still work even without all the actors that we have come to know as „the family“
It feels like your having a final race of your life with Final boss race battle.
What is the name of the song from the beginning of this video?
Finn Cole and Vin Diesel's oldest son for anyone who wants to know who plays the younger Dom and Jacob
Vinnie Benett aka Teen Dom
That fox body should’ve gapped that charger
East L.A. during this time was on point. East Los racers and car clubs were a force to be rekon with
That is the one and only thing that inspired THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS 2001
It was never meant to become this billion dollar business
@@smoketj4830 agreed I wish they would have shown more of this type of story with the other films and only make like maybe 3 max not 9 or 10 lol
Reckless driving and wasting gas
I was talking to Vinnie last night after making his new movie WHINA COOPER....very talented young man! I didn't know he had made other movies...he's going to go along way in his acting career...nga mea pai katoa mo nga ra kei mua Mr Vinnie Bennett.... kei te haere koe!!
I love the fact they had throwback screen in the movie
This scene proves that the first few movies in the franchise werent just a fever dream
@0:40 "Young Hector" Lol
It’s weird how Dominic wanted to race more than know why his brother supposedly killed the father…
Holy hell is that Jesse at :50
Holy shit. Nice catch!
Can't be cause jessie is only a teenager in the first movie and Dom and crew are in their early 20s or mid 20s
What happened to Leon?
I haven't been to a fast and furious movie since the 5th one, of they were to make a prequel like this I would come back
Love to see that 67 charger close up. Looks killer
Most underrated muscle car ever
what is the name of the song at the beginning I've been looking for it for a long time, it seems to be from Dr. dre
Jacob was always still around after the race. It’s just when he got older you couldn’t see him.
Little did they know this single race right here would lead them to outerspace in the future
Bro they look nothing like who they're supposed to be
idk who young dom is but i WILL watch a whole ass movie with this man and the young crew
So dope how they make so many movies about people and racing cars you know? I just wish they could do like uh I don't know maybe a Broadway Musical or just have a show in Vegas or something.
A prequel with young Vin Diesel in the import 90s would be sick.
this was actually pretty freaking cool to see
If you win you comeback home; if you lose you keep driving and never ever comeback.
2:38
Torreto's family trademark
damn, Jakob does really likes his mustang
its interesting that even back then they had self driving cars, dom vs self driving mustang
I'm ashamed at the fact I had to read it twice before it sunk in.
@@tylergrooms8303 dw about it, at this point its a dead meme :')
I love Dodge, but that fox body would have absolutely slaughtered it 💀.
Love to see my boy Jay Cody taking his talents else where baby 😁
That foxbody is soooooo clean, i have a green 91 lx, gettin that hotwheel today
Song:N.W.A Appetite for destruction
Nah you wrong, the tuner scene wouldn’t make sense at all since they didn’t really become a trend since later 90’s
Lmao young Dom looks like WWE's Damien Priest
There’s so many of these now That this is my first time hearing/seeing anything about this one
we all just need a prequel like this scene but a full story of what happened before Fast and furious 1. that would be the best loop into the series after they conclude the saga
Young Vince in the back is an amazing touch.
The one time they should have cgi their faces to look young lol. They could have pulled it off
A Netflix series that explores the origin story of Dominic Toretto, would be a great story to tell.
I can’t believe they got the fox body freaking sick
@@bransonbelcher4931 pretty sure Jakob and Dom’s dad agreed to “fix” the car however when the car got hit no one expected it to explode
@@kaze7005 it was the The Toretto family’s enemy Kenny Linder has clipped the car 🚗 that exploded was their father inside but he wasn’t in there and that is the reason why that Dom and Jakob have been falling apart and been estranged from each other since the passing of their father!
Dom said it was the Pro stock series last race of the season a guy named Kenny Linder clipped his bumper and sent him into the wall at 120.
It’s really cool when Dom was in the movie there’s always wheelie but now i know only a torreto can do wheelie but dom can do longer than Jakob
