    How beautiful to see two athletes adopted as infants grow up to win the American Cup and to do it together! This is what makes USA great...the American dream in action.

    I really liked the commentary. Tim and Nastia were able to keep it relevant and more in depth than usual without Al going off into unnecessary and usually ill informed directions.

      Also don't miss Al going on and on about how Simone came from a "broken home"... wtf does that have to do with anything?? Don't miss him at all.

    • @mr.d4ve
      @mr.d4ve 6 лет назад +14

      They used to be utterly biased towards American gymnasts and inevitably too critical to others, even for the tiniest mistakes. I do agree with you though, they have improved so much and their commentary is quite helpful and constructive now!

    • @tekkenfan01
      @tekkenfan01 6 лет назад +2

      It's because people want American gymnasts to lose since we win too much so they rip on Tim, nastia and al and anything else to bring down America, easy to see

    Nastia and Tims job are not just commentators, they're sports analyst. They're meant to help the masses better understand the scores they're seeing and understand why whoever wins is winning. They're also broadcasted to American audiences, not international, and help NBC sensationalize American athletes for the sake of Olympics. This type of commercialism makes it possible for athletes like Simone or Nastia to win a gold medal and then make millions of dollars off of sponsorships. If you don't like them, watch on a different network.

    Cheers to the Canadian gymnasts for keeping it interesting and putting in those unique skills! They lack a little precision compared to the USA or the Russian gymnasts but I always look forward to seeing them at each competition because they are so original :)

    And of course - her gymnastics is amazing. She just keeps on getting better & better, even since World's. I'm loving her upgrades & can't wait to see what else she unveils as the year progresses! I have no doubt in my mind that she is going to continue to shine & get even more consistency with every time she competes & the more &a more experience she gets!

    When you know nothing about gymnastics and don't understand the terms, or when they say they were messy in the air and I'm like ??? How? or when they explain how the judges judge and I'm like, yeah but like that is like impossible to do. I don't understand how gymnasts do what they do, their body is under so much forces and pressure, like the impact they land and a certain way your suppose to land. Like I could never be able to be a gymnast because I have such a weak everything that is hard to improve, I have weak ankles like WEAK ankles, weak lower back, not that strong of bones, that knees and hips, elbows etc. Basically all my joints, like it hurts to fully extend my joints sometimes. I give so much praise to people who excelled or does this sport, such a demanding sport.

    Kenzo and the Chinese male were definitely off their game, makes me wonder how seriously they were taking it. Seems like kind of a staged event for the Americans. Its like they are saying, "Send us your 2nd stringers or otherwise off-season gymnasts, so we can showcase our up and coming stars, and give them some competition - but not too tough competition." Not taking anything from Yul Muldauer - he is stunning. I'm surprised he is not in the World Championships. He has to make the 2020 Olympic team. His execution is so smooth and effortless, yet strong and precise.
    What really surprises me is how slender the newer men's gymnasts are - like Kenzo, Muldauer, and Uchimura. Its like they are forwarding a new trend in men's gymnastics with less muscle and more technique. Some of the current men's Olympic team members are bordering on body builder physiques.

      Everyone knows the American Cup is a joke. I mean just remember what happened in 2011 in the women's competition. Even Wieber was embarrassed by what the judges did. And it's the last time the Russian gymnasts competed in it...Although I think it might be compulsory now to get points for the Olympics to qualify for individual spots.

    Mai Murakami 1000% should’ve won. Her beam score/ execution was bullshit. Also- her floor was beautiful as was her vault. Morgan gets overscored on vault and floor.

    Geez mens floor is so rushed now. They should just set up a straightaway and rumble bk n forth, like acros. Why bother with strength and flexibility ? I dont like these new routines.
