There is no closer music to classic than metal is.
What I love about this group is that it appeals to even the young. Teenagers. It's almost like the 1800s with many young enjoying Classical. But today it's just more modern now and again invites the young crowd in to appreciate the real arts of music. My son, when 14 introduced these guys to me. Lol. I instantly fell in love.
My son is now 24. 😉. He still enjoys them.

And all the cellists have had education in playing the chello, which adds more expertise too :)

They left for commercial and very generic rock sound with vocals and drums. It's nice to have them back doing the pure (distorted) cello sound.

+david wagner you are fucking delusional!!! Mikko is one of the best drummers in the business! You hear them play live and he brings power to their songs. Not to mention one of the most down to earth people I have ever met.
I never said that Mikko is a bad drummer :) I heard him play live and I never had any doubts about him being a good drummer. All I wanted to say is that Apocalyptica don't need him or anybody else behind a drumkit in order to create awesome music! And this video proves it again.
I never knew cello can be rocked until I discovered these guys.

The skull cello actually has bass strings to achieve the rich background. The bass strings create such a great effect to the cello sound. That's why they master using 4 in harmony and I like when they add percussion to their music too. Big fan of Apocalyptica

I was lucky enough to hear this song live few days ago. Show itself was very good, full of good old stuff, a lot of it remastered (even in a better ways, although one could think it's not possible). But this song was exactly when hall "exploded". Several days have passed, but I still feel all that energy and good mood inside me.
