- Squad just dropped patch 7.2 and it’s completely changed the weapon mechanics for all weapons in the game, and it feels really good! Not only have they added quad bikes, a new APC, manual bolt cycling on snipers and map voting as well as crunching over 100 bugs, but they’ve also drastically reduced scoped weapon bobbing and greatly improved iron sights handling. This version of Squad may just be it’s best, and is the perfect time to jump in as a new player or return as an old player. In this gameplay video I explore the new weapon mechanics, offer my take on the changes and also use some of the new content like the quad bike and the snipers.

You haven’t lived until you’re next to the body of a guy you just killed and his body is rag dolling through the floor and legs and arms are flapping everywhere whilst making a continuous clicking sound.
I saw it once. I thought it was a hacker because our hub on that spot was digged down and there was no enemies around

4:32 Just a tip slorgs; open your map (CAPSLOCK) go to top right (settings) and enable "Toggle Viewing Roles as Player Icons" to see what kit is your teammates are using. Quite usefull feature in some scenarios.
i re-mapped to my ~ key, and seeing where people are aiming is very useful, but its preference primarily
THAT'S where that setting is! I thought I was going insane when it was reset after an update and I couldn't find it in the game settings.

That muzzle flash bug has been in the game for as long as I have played squad since March 2022. lol
It's been there for me for a looong time too, real great to always have to check if it was just the sound bug or if it was really some dude shooting a grenade launcher by our logi truck

I9 12900k and rtx 3080 ti at 1080p yeah drops down to like 40 fps at times the game used to run alot better

I absolutely HATE map/mode voting in games, some maps get picked too often and it gets incredibly stale, just rotate maps and let people leave the game if they don’t like that map..
Give server admins the option of both 🤷♂

Bought this game before Helldivers 2 for Galactic Contention and didnt mind the ICO update. Never played due to HD2 but now I really want to try it, looks so much cleaner.
2:48 is so funny, the dude moving the quad with the steering wheel, it's the most Squadish thing I could see in this video

Would love to see a slow bolt rechamber option for the sniper where it doubles/triples the bolt cycle time but you don't have much if any scope movement and can keep eyes on the target
Yea I had to quit playing when they updated the scopes to give you the effect of being on a tug boat lost at sea. It was awful. Glad to come back now.

That sound bug/muzzle flash has been in the game for a while. Also apparently they added the ability to hear enemies, GE servers are running with it on and its hilarious.
Yesterday I was at a repair station in a light truck then I heard gun shots so I took off fast. I now just realized maybe it was those annoying ghost shots otherwise I would have been ded.

Haven't played Squad since 2017. Have been wanting to come back because of these new gun physics.

Excited to try squad now, had it for months, never played it, now my mic is broking so I still wont, But I want to!
I think I have to get back to Squad after this update.
My only gripe is suppression. I dont like how it fully blurs your screen to where you can't even try and see who and where's you're being shot from. I think it's a little too much but it is what it is.

Squads just needs a levelling system class progression skins, and player customization in their next update and then this game will be hitting top of the charts. Ohh don’t forget the destructible environment. They need to incorporate in the game take an RPG and blow up walls just blow up walls and blow up buildings with tanks grenades tactical equipment C4 whatever just make destructible environment
You should test the new Global Scalation mod. It had prox chat with enemys, funny asf

Played 4000hrs of old SQUAD with an old PC setup no problems. Now that I have a better PC I cant play SQUAD anymore cause I'm getting super low frames. Just hope they optimize all these changes cause I'm not able to play it right now.
I got rtx 3060 12GB, i5 11400F 16GB ram can't run it, how much more do I need.

Squad died after V9 the soul of squad leader strategy creation was made linear.
The best version of squad will always be the one you started playing it on, or the first couple after that. Everything else is downhill from there.

Would you recommend this to a hell let loose veteran who is bored of the WW2 theme?
They're actually pretty different games these days, I've always felt hell let loose is pretty arcadey and bit more casual friendly in general. Squad gunplay is not like that anymore and I imagine would feel quite frustrating. But they both have those similar PTSD inducing experiences so if you don't mind the gunplay learning curve I'd say it's a good switch.

can i play the game if my specs are good but my GPU isn't . i mean i have a 2GB in my GPU can i play the game with no issues or am i cooked??
Seems like ur cooked. Maybe with 30fps. Idk if squad runs on mainly CPU or GPU
2gb --> you cooked. You need 6 gigs on your GPU to have a playable experience
even with 5700xt its not great

Ok, 6k hour player here. Been around since the insurgent model changes and addition of MRAPs. Love the game but I started cheating on this game with reforger since the ICO. Legitimately, Im asking fellow veterans with similar playtime before the mocap changes, before the vehicle additions, before the sandbags and hascos, IS IT WORTH COMING BACK to my love because god damn it Slorgs makes me want to play again. I just dont want to be disappointed again and before your guys start trippin on me. I want to say Im pretty open to the changes. I just want to have a decent cheek and shoulder weld and not have "noodle arms".

The updated ico is pretty nice i have to say but ive been in since 2017 and the quality of players goes down and down and down every year. It seems the majority of people are clueless of whats going on. I would like a server where you have to have a certain amount of hours to join like 500+
That’s how it felt with Hell Let Loose couple years ago the player base was solid now it’s cancer. I got squad couple months ago hoping that people would actually communicate or use their brains and unfortunately it’s like only 1 in 5 games where that’s actually the case. Nothing infuriates me more than waiting in a queue for a good server at the start of a new game joining a squad and spawning just for the smooth brain who just started the squad to say “okay who wants SL”…..

I buy the game at the worst time when the noodle arm update came out
it did not change, everyithing is the same. the bobbing changed but it is just visual, the sway (that is the real reason why we call squad soldiers "noodle arms") stayed the same. we need more changes to the weapon sway values, the ICO is good with all that supression stuff and etc. but the sway is ridiculous.

Wish i could play squad, got a 1660ti i7-9750 and 16gb of ram, but cant average 50fps
The game is painfully unoptimized at the moment even with high end rigs ull get random fps drops, stutter and hitching for no reason.

recoil pattern is still random and do not feels like irl recoil, also lack of slow peace walk while ads is annoying advancing the point is frustrating stopped playing game after overhaul and switched to EFT
