Question. I have already changed the return springs but still the gun wont fire. It spins up and itll fire like 1 out of 20 tries and the rest just sound like small thumps inside.
have you checked all bolts? maybe some bolts are missing or loosing. my one had same issue. 1shot out 10... but once I changed the springs, it was perfect, however, Never use oil when you clean up. It's different system with paslode.
Just buy a Paslode and leave the dewalt nail gun alone. Just sold my dewalt gun. Paslode all the way. Unfortunately dewalt can’t make a good framing nailer... yet...
with my experience, nail jammed very easily. when flashing, you have 2 things. battery flat or nail jammed. just turn black handle at top of your gun and will fixed automatically some times, otherwise you have to open the gun to take nail out. thats why allen key is on the side of gun I guess.(Never put oil to make smooth)

Try a different battery
