It’s been great. I just used it a couple weeks ago for a full day of drifting on a big track with the termi and it was solid. Just make sure the surface is smooth and clean and check it once in a while and you should be good to go.
I need some advice on mounting one or two Insta360 X4 cameras on my DAF XF semi-truck. The roof is not an option as I need to stay under 4 meters in height. I considered mounting a pole in front, but while a 1-meter extension might not be enough, a 3-meter extension would be a traffic violation, despite offering an amazing shot. This might be possible with the Insta360 car mount. Another idea is to mount two Insta360 X4 cameras on both side mirrors. However, I'm unsure how to combine their feeds into a single output video. I'll be driving from Holland to Scandinavia and want to capture something epic. Ideally, I'd also like to use the setup for 24-hour surveillance, connecting it to a laptop and ensuring it’s hard-wired. Additionally, I would like to connect the cameras to a monitor to assist in navigating narrow pathways or backing up, making the setup multifunctional. Any suggestions on how to achieve this? i also looked into security cams quality sucks or fps is low i like the 360 idee over go pro my hero 7 was shit
I am seriously considering buying this camera but every youtuber out there is like "whoa, this is the best camera in the universe" since they are all sponsored by Insta360. I have never had any 360 cam so I wanted to know a few things from you. Can I use 3rd party sticks for this camera? Paying about 80 USD just for a 3m stick is a bit too much for me right now. Aliexpress has some good looking ones that are much cheaper. Also, how slow can you make the video to still look good? I wanna make some "super slow motion" videos but I am not sure how they will look like. Can I slow it down to like 10% of the original speed? All I need currently is the cam, an sd card and a big selfie stick. One day I would buy the dive case, the gps accessory and the external mic. But I am on a budget right now and the X4 seems to be the best choice in terms of bang for buck. Thank you. Nice video btw
Sorry for the delay (hectic weekend) I have noticed a lot of sponsored vids and saw the controversy with them asking people not to disclose. I’m hoping it was just a misunderstanding or something lost in translation. 3rd party sticks work with it as long as they have a 1/4” 20 thread, and I’ve used a couple different style from Amazon. The insta stick does twist to lock, which I really like, and some of the 3rd party ones were just friction style. I’m sure there’s some more solid 3rd party options out there on Amazon or Ali though. The slow motion on the 8k is pretty limited but gets slower if you go to the 4K setting. It allows you to shoot 100fps, which can be slowed down to 30% which is pretty slow and looks pretty good. The truck stuff was shot at 60fps in 5.7k and was zoomed in quite a bit, and looked pretty good to me. Final Cut and premiere can slow down clips even further, but I don’t mess with those effects very often. And thanks for the compliment! I Greatly appreciate it.
May be too late to help, but... I've been making Sailboat race videos with 360 cameras for the past few years. This year I paid for and started using the X4. I can say it's the best consumer level 360 camera currently out there. Recording in 8k is a big help for reframing. You have to understand the 8kspec is for the whole 360 sphere. So there are far fewer pixels available once you reframe to a normal shot. That's why 8k is more important than most people think. Regarding slow mo: the camera will shoot @100 frames per sec in 4k, so that is about 1/4 speed of normal 30 fps video.
I wish I got better shots of the van and I would’ve used those, but the video needed a talking break anyway. Good seeing ya! I was going to head up last Saturday with the truck but slept in and saw it was getting packed pretty early.
@dantehooks1603 I really don’t want to, but there’s another car that I’m trying to acquire and I need a bit more money. Starting to doubt anyone is actually going to buy it though.
Glad to see you doing good, good video like always.
Thanks! ☺️
Hopefully I can get back to posting more. I’ve missed it.
Good to see an honest review.
I try to keep it real!
That trunk insta mount still holding up? I am shopping for one. That one bad review on amazon scares me, where the dudes camera fell off at 50

Finally another upload 😊
Sorry it’s been so long.
But feels good to hit the upload button again!
