Alyson used to sing at my local Black restaurant, we sat down for drinks, and I gave her propers for being the first “Hip Hop Soul” vocalist prior to the genre being set off. She was the first artist to use Urban style to be her image. Prior R&B vocalist had traditional mainstream branding. Def Jam placed her next to Hip Hop imagery of the time to separate her from the bunch. Crazy underrated vocalist. High Fashion was her and Melisa Morgan as the vocalists.
OK, if you swap Alysons vocals for The Deele's upbeat version, I think it would be interesting. Both are great but you can tell that one was for grooving and the other for a quietstorm vibe. Thanks Reelblack One!
I thought that was Ready for the World when I saw that picture! But, their version was good… However, Alyson Williams version is the only one I knew and still like!
I honestly like both. I remember liking The Deele's version as a kid. I remember I thought the song was about literally getting caught out in the rain😆. I love Allison Williams' voice tho. I can't decide🤷🏽♀️
I'd never heard this song before (either version) or know the artists (I'm from the UK) so thank you for expanding my music knowledge 😁 I prefer the funky beat of the Deele's version but they're both really good ❤
I have always LOVED "Just My Luck" by The Deele! I'm an Allyson Williams fan, but I never knew she covered this song. I do like her version, esp. because she put her own spin on it. The Deele's song is still my favorite. ❤
Apples to oranges. The Deele had live instruments and their approach was smoother. Alyson Williams had manufactured soundtrack and her approach was more aggressive. Both are dynamic!! Do more of these!!
I have been a huge Kenneth Babyface Edmonds fan since the Deele, they got my vote hands down. I’m pretty rough on remakes, but I approve of Whitney’s rendition of I will always love you and I’m every woman, Silk Sonic’s Love Train, KC Hailey’s version of If you think you’re lonely now and Marvin Gaye’s I heard it through the grapevine to name a few. I don’t like her version, not enough soul and emphasis on the words…..
Both are great! Love both versions ❤
I had no idea The Deele did this song. I heard Alison's first. I like both.

My name is Less and I ain’t in this mess. Both versions are great, and they still sound great. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Same

They both did that thing!🔥🔥🔥
Had no ideal that the Deele originated this hit. But Allison sang the heck out of it… one of my favorite love ❤️ it!
Me neither! Where is she today? I know the Deele broke up...
Hard to pick i love them both🔥🔥

Both versions are good. I do really like Alyson William’s vocal style; the ending is very nice 😌🎶

I didn't know The Deele did this song. I had that Alyson Williams CD, so I'm going with that one. 😅
My jam! I used to LOVEEEE The Deele!
I love both versions. Both versions are winners in my book.
Both of them are ❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥! Different and wonderful!
Both versions are great but The Deele is one of my all time favourite Bands. So... i have to vote for them 😉
Love the deele
Thank you‼️ Just what I needed! ♥️♥️♥️BOTH 🗣️ATE IT UP‼️ I choose The Deele for Instrumentation‼️🎵🎶
I like both versions. The neighborhood skating risk used to play The Deele’s version so I heard that one first.
Alyson's has a different sultry flare that makes it perfect.
I never heard the Deele's version before thanks for sharing. I am sticking Allyson Williams' version.

Alyson Williams
I heard Alyson’s first. My mother put me on to The Deeles version. Both are great in their own way….tough call.
The DeeLe hands down ❤

Hi everybody
Wow! Didn’t know The Deele did it first! I heard Alyson’s first. I own this album! I like both but Alyson puts some church on it! 👏🏽🙌🏽
KEEP IT GOING GOOD BROTHA-CHUUCH!!
I liked Alyson’s version ❤, I think the directions were different
I only knew The Deele's version, but Alyson's feels sexy!
Both are good
The Deele. 💯
The deele was my favorite band growing up.
The Deele❤
The Deele
Now I do love The Deele but I also love Alyson and I like her version better. 🫶🏽❤️
Different decades of the same song. The Deele is my favorite version.
tough call here. i like the guitar better on the deele's version
Deele. Never knew AW covered this joint.
Definitely Allyson
The Delle version is unadulterated and superior by any measure..
Alyson Williams gets my vote. Her version was more up tempo and I enjoyed hearing it to the end... The Deele, not so much. 🦻 I'm just sayin'.
Totally agree 👍🏽

Deele had the better music, but Alyson sang that like a woman who been in the situation
The Deele allll the way
The Deele was more funkier...plus gotta love those curls😂❤️
Aly
Hands down The Deele has the better version.
Alyson Williams improved an 80s hit.
Alyson Williams did it best.
I do like Alyson Williams' version, she has the right stuff but The Deele did it better.
The Deele's version is better. The bass guitar and lead guitar solo.
Allison’s version has me wishing Phyllis Hyman recorded a version.
I think the Deele have the best version
The Deele played the instruments, Allyson had a computer sequencing!
The deele easy winners
The Deele produced by babyface
The Deele's version is far better due to actual instruments being played. A. Williams version sounds computer generated, as it was.
